Pahonia is a Belarusian patriotic song based on the eponymous poem by Maksim Bahdanovič, 1916. This is not anthem of Grand Duchy Of Lithuania and cant be because this is not how anthems sounded in The middle ages and renesance era even if Lithuania was The last pagan Kingdom.

@@Orc-icide composers write songs to be played by specific instruments on specific key signatures with specific tempos at specific volumes quite often and have been doing it throughout history. As a former orchestral trumpeter I’d know this because I played songs. The composers wrote how they intended their songs to sound on the sheet music. I did not intend for you to interpret my comment in such a way. The fact that electric guitars didn’t exist in the time of the GDL is a known fact. It is generally understood that composers of their respective times and regions would compose music in hue of their cultures and the time of writing. I had no need to be so specific in my comment. You had no reason to be rude and condescending towards me either. I’m a student at university achieving my Bachelor of Science in Nursing as I write this comment. Aye, it’s not history, but I study history in depth as well. I’m more than willing to admit when I’m wrong, but in this context, neither of us are wrong. You’re just upset for reasons I cannot fathom.

Grand Duchy of Lithuania was a Lithuanian state, created by Lithuanians, ruled by Lithuanians. Belarusians have too much fake pride to admit that they were ruled by a smaller nation, so nowadays they claim that GDL was Belarusian (which is a myth).

In the west is your beloved Samogitia and in the east Aukštaitija. So you whant to tell me that Aukštaitija was Belarus? Why? Overall. Rus is not Russia. Until 1800, Ukrainians called themselves Ruthenians. Until 1800, Belarusians called themselves Lithuanians, not Ruthenians or Russians. Until 1700, Russians called themselves Muscovites. The Russians stole the identity of the Ruthenians, i.e. Ukrainians.
Russia had no right to these lands! There was a period when the Russians murdered half the population of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, i.e. half of the Belarusians, i.e. half of the Lithuanians.
the ruling elite of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was of Belarusian origin. 90% of the knights who fought at Grunwald and Orsza were Belarusians. most of the territories of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania were Belarus. The official language of this country was Belarusian
