    I made this change and added the PI air tube and there was a noticeable difference on my 2004 LX SPORT.
    At a later date i ported and polished the intake elbow, added a 1 inch spacer and a 70mm throttle body from a Econline.
    What a big difference and instant throttle response!! I drained the memory and let it recalibrate itself. Never had a problem.
    The 04 still has the cable throttle.

    Great info, man. I just installed the p71 full air box intake. I will upload a video of it once my phone charges a little more. I unplugged my positive cable before uninstallling the old intake. Then, after I was finished, I after I was finished installing the new air intake. Connected the positive cable back. I cycled the key about twice before starting my car. I did notice when I started it the first time. It kind a sounded like I had performance cams. But, once it warmed up it went away. But it does have a deeper sound. Also, I noticed the throttle was more responsive.

    Did you notice any difference in grams per second out of the mass air flow sensor? Something to think about too is in a cold engine it starts up in pre-programmed open loop once the o2s are hot enough it will use the mass air and O2s to fine tune the air fuel mixture during closed loop operation.

    • @jeremypike9153
      @jeremypike9153 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of old OBD1 FOMOCO vehicles didn't have the cold start programming as finely tuned as they are in today's vehicles. Almost as if the technology just wasn't there yet or they didn't spend as much time getting the programming just right temperature wise. The newer stuff does so much better. A few times this winter my IAC valve actually froze up in the mornings because back then they actually just pulled in air from the top of the valve through a vent. Even with a preheat system on the intake it still has troubles in the cold. They actually learned to just recirculate air around the throttle body instead of using atmospheric air later in the IAC valves though.

      The marauder with almost 60 more horsepower and 30 tq, better gears and suspension didn’t run anymore than a low 15 sec quarter, so 14.1 is not possible for a Vic with a marauder air box and 80 mill mass air.

      It's a daily so I can't do that but I did come up with an idea. I'll run some pipe in front of the battery to the front grille.

      I like it sounds really good. That’s the sound I would go for I don’t want it to loud it’s still a luxury car

      @@christy_michael it's an aggressive sound it's not super super loud but it is aggressive though and I think I'm not sure you would like it if you really like the luxury because right at about 45-50 Mi an hour it has somewhat of a drone to it the some people say is annoying but I just enjoy it overall

    You could remove the air box (open intake), to get the ideal mph as a baseline.

    first off....for vics, 2005 to 2011....you have a electronic drive my wire throttle system.....which means......if you upgrade ANYTHING even just a cold air intake.....if you DO NOT do a retune on the ECU.....your upgrades will do close to zero if anything at all. lol 😆 🤣 😆 I'll use cold air intakes as an example again....those are designed to grab and condense more air....well.....if the ECU and the electronic throttle system isn't returned to tell it to accept the more dense air to then change the fuel spray and ignition timing......your fancy fast and furious cold air intake does NOTHING!!!! lol. if anything.....you just ruined MPG by 1 or 2 MPG lol 😆 😂 so to make it clear.....for 05 to 2011.....for EVERYTHING you add/change, you must to a different retune now to get its capability of the part you upgraded. or, you are just pissing money away.

      Before you start being snarky and offering advice understand that I'm one of the leading Professionals in repairing these cars and I have a stockpile of automotive parts that people buy from me and I upgrade them even further so even though I may not know a lot about the tuning upgrading stuff I do know a lot about the cars overall so pull yourself back a little bit reel in the rains because you're not teaching me anything I don't already know and there's a whole Channel full of information on these cars so back up don't say anything else watch all the content and then let's talk that's how you're going to do this
