Thank you sir. You spoke my mind. Some experts are just addressing the quatitative aspect of the reform but you touch on the qualitative aspect which is the fundamental problem.
And which northerners put on their blinkers on and refuse to look at d few economic activities in the North are brought their by the Southerners they should be grateful to them instead of harassing them
The president should reduce corruption before introducing the tax reform. I am sceptical about the reform because of corruption in the land. Corruption has killed so many good policies in the country and this particular one will not be an exception.🎉
Well said & logically outlined.....Kudos to you sir💪👏 Mr Dayo Sobowale has just hit the nail on the head.....Bravo👏 if that opposition governor like it or not the tax reform bills is going to be implemented, let him go & learn how to govern, work hard & make use of the resources available to develop his state period!.

This Governor has not said why the tax reform bill is not good for the North. Is the proposed bill taking revenues generated in the and giving same the south? What exactly is wrong with the bill?
Bala Abdikadir, was the minister of Abuja when he brought government own bases which he registered to his cronies and they pushed out a multi million transport business that I suffered to built. His reigns in fct was among the worst. He never did anything. In a federalist state, federating states must generate resources. Feeding bottle federalism should shop.
As a northerner I’m in support of the proposed tax reform bill , and its implementation will certainly be a wake up call for the North and other unproductive states to get out of their comfort zone. If these Governors truly have interest of their people at heart, This bill should be a call to Strengthen institutions , explore other avenues to boost revenue & Create enabling environment for foreign investment in sectors such as Mining & Agric. With vast amount of mineral resources and arable land in the north ,The north has all it takes to move forward as a region and improve livelihood of its people but leadership and will power to make it happen keeps lacking..
This tax reform bill exposes the governors, they don't want to do anything to benefit their region, rsther they want to be collecting free rent from federal. The bill will encourage state to welcome other people to their states for investment, development.lt encourage security etc.The current system does not, whatever happens you still get money from other region vst.Why would the bother about security then or investment?
I am a bonafide Nigerian from the South . But I must say the Tax Reform Bills must be amended before passed. VAT is not the only issue there. Tinubu thinks he can use the allocation sentiment to unite the South politically. I don't think the victims of 2023 election in Lagos and other places are so quick to forget. And the INEC magic that took place... This tax bill is now for political calculations. As long as I am concerned, ATIKU/ OBI ticket is what I will support in 2027. No wise OBIDIENT should think Obi alone can win 2027 election. APC is now doing TAX POLITICS.
I am not surprised of what's coming out from this mumu mouth. All he wants is just receiving monthly salary in the name of allocation. Zero sensible creativity to develop his state... Nonsense! 🇳🇬 God Bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
Mr Sobowala's position in support of President Tinubu is more arrogant than the president's. He and his cohorts should learn to season their utterances with salt.
What did you mean by having his preconceived opinion 😂😂😂😂 so you think he should go without having his own opinion because I don't understand your grouse. The purpose of his invitation is not to please you and your co northerner who suddenly feel like a baby denied of his feeding bottle, meanwhile the reform is going to benefit the northerners more.
This man is talking nonsense. He forgot that Nigeria is a federation. Each federating unit has the constitutional rights to fight for its interests. It’s not every thing that the presidency brings to the table that must be swallowed hook, line and sinker. The bill must try to accommodate all interests of the federating states. It’s not a question of the governor being an opposition. Aren’t APC governors opposing it?
@jimmye.787 then vote for someone who won't stand on the mandate. It's like saying that, because police/judiciary are perceived to be corrupt, citizens should take laws into their hands.
there has never been a day this old man see anything wrong in Tinubu so without watching i can bet he will always play that role supporting his tribe man so try bringing persons with absolute nutrality to your show
You tell us what is wrong in this context. Meanwhile, this guy's has many times criticized Tinubu. Eg in Price commodities and hardship and in the government expenditures. Also in the security in the North and the guys has been publicly saying that Tinubu should look into Nmadi Kanu and suggest dialogue to free Kanu.
All he is saying is that everyone should be carried along... Don't impose bill on us... This is a democracy not a military dictatorship. You can't just say what the governor said was wrong in total.. Take a critical look at what he meant.
House of Rep and Senate are there. Tinubu is not making a decree. Due process of law making is being followed. Bala Mohammed and whosoever has a grouse with the bill should make representarion during public hearing. And he should stop calling for anarchy over democraric process
Bala allegedly needs more money from beer drinking states to build more mansions. He allegedly spent almost 20 billion naira to build a governor's mansion. How many industries are located in Bauchi state, and how much is the state contribution to the country's treasury?. Little or none. He's one of the Northwest and the Northeast regions leaders asking for wide consultations like 20 years spent on PIB bill, which they water down the provisions that didn't favoured them. If population is use as the derivation to share VAT money these people will not ask for consultation, but immediately ask the national assembly to pass the tax bills. The past military governments mostly from the North favoured the Northwest and the Northeast regions with revenue allocation and VAT money by using population as the top deviation in sharing the money. Instead of Bala Mohammed preaching hard work and education to his people. He's preaching the country's unity. Fuck the country's unity if you have to take from me and give to someone else while l struggle to survive. If Bala and his group don't want President Tinubu"s political solutions to the VAT issue, the Supreme Court should decide the VAT case that has been before the court for about 2 years. Bala Mohammed and his group are afraid of the Supreme Court's decision that will likely give 100% derivation to the consumption states because VAT isn't on the exclusive list of the constitution. They remembered the court's decision on the federal lottery case, which wasn't on the exclusive list of the constitution. The Supreme Court should also decide if oil producing states should be entitled to 100% derivation or not because the 13% isn't acceptable. The oil producing communities are suffering from pollution, erosion, and poverty, whereas these people are allegedly acquired mansions in Dubai and other Western countries. Like in the Western countries if they need more revenue from the federal government their lawmakers in the national assembly should lobby for them, but not to take money from beer drinking states and give the money to the states that ban beer drinking. For the sake of national unity, don't try to ripe where you don't sow. Yeye short-sighted lazy Bala.
