Thank you for your kind comment, Gregor! ❤ I would say it is my life's mission to help you find a Cabernet Franc that you love. I really think there is a style out there for anyone. So, don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like a bit more advice. Happy to help any way I can. Thanks again for watching and for your kind support! 🙏
It’s amazing the complexity of the soils. Even this far from Pouilly-Fumé you’re getting silex mixed with chalks. Between the very basic ph and draining ability CF must enjoy planting roots here. I know, I’ll always take advantage of a good wine pun. 😁👍 cheers and thank you for a great post and another wine I need to shopping for.
Than you for your thoughtful comment, Derek! Indeed the soils of the Loire are varied and complex. You find pockets of silex in the Cabernet Franc appellations, but it is different from that in Pouilly-Fumé, which is really neat. But definitely regions like Saumur-Champigny are Cabernet Francs happy place! Thanks again for watching and for your continued support! 🙏
@@cabfrancchronicles first time I’ve been called Derek….. 😂😂. I get Tom from time to time time…. That’s ok, as long as I’m not called late to the wine tastings I’m all good. ☺️👌
I'm sorry, Carl. That's rather embarrassing. Clearly my morning coffee hadn't sunk in. That, or I'm not as used to the reply/comment platform here. Either way, I apologize. I will be more careful in the future. Thank you for your continued support!
Delighted to finally catch you here on TH-cam, I can skip back and forth more easily than instagram . This wine is one I can actually get locally (Ireland). I found it a bit light and a fading centre when I had it a few years ago, but that was a restaurant bottle, in an over rated Saumur restaurant. I must try it again, as I've had another of his wines and thoroughly enjoyed it! Now I must go back and comment on IG 😂😂🥂🥂
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Derek! I hope all is well with you! I think this wine is definitely worth revisiting, particularly more recent vintages. Like anything, we improve by doing, and I think there have been huge strides in the vignerons understanding of their terroirs and Cabernet Franc in recent years, so there is a lot to look forward to. If you give it a try again, do let me know your thoughts. I would recommend seeking out a 2020 if you can find it. I find the 2019s to be a little tight still, but if that's the vintage you can find then be sure to decant it for a bit before enjoying. Thank you for watching and for your generous support!❤🙏
I definitely have to give Cabernet Franc another chance. Thank you for your content, you are so refreshing and have so many details, just wonderful 🥰🤩

@@cabfrancchronicles no worries….it gave me a chuckle on a difficult day, so thank you for that. 😎
Well at least it gave you a chuckle! We all need that now and then. @@carlcadregari7768
