@@barneybarnes7134 take that bum ass rush for negative rushing yards in a seasons ass nigga out the conversation. That “pitch back play” came back to bite him in the ass in the BCS Rose Bowl vs Texas 😂😂😂
You should go back and watch some WVU highlights from 2007-2010. They had him and Steve slaton in the backfield, which are the 2 best running backs in WVU history, alongside pat white at qb, the greatest qb in wv history. Devine was a damn fun player to watch in college, but the mixture of them 3 was poetry
@@ItsFreshByNatureyou gotta check out the 2007 Fiesta Bowl WVU Vs Oklahoma. WVU should have been in the natty but blew a late season game to Pitt. Their coach Rich Rodriguez leaves them before the bowl game! So they were super together and pumped up cuz of how much he pissed them off, and also because they were angry knowing they might have had a shot to beat Ohio State but didn’t get it cuz of the Pitt loss. In that game, Devine was a freshman and he went on to rush for like 105 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries, as well as a 34 yard catch and 47 total receiving yards. And again, not only was he a freshman, but he was behind Pat White and Steve Slayton in the backfield heirarchy, but he was just too good already not to show out when he got the ball. He had a 65 yard run to seal the game in the 4th qtr, it’s such a beautiful display of the ease with which he was able to break long runs. *also you can check out his game in 2008 vs Auburn, 2009 vs Auburn and Colorado and his 92 yard run Vs Syracuse. You gotta see it. He was something else man. He averaged 8.6 yards per carry as a freshman, rushing for around 650 yards on only 70 carries or so.
Kids today wouldn't understand graduating 2008 hs what it was like to see this on the internet... still impressive today. Noah Devine in hs was a scary dude.
Exactly! Not only was it the most impressive highlight break we had possibly ever seen before that, even to this day! That many years later. I watched some highlights of the top one or two top recruits at RB this year, and it just made me want to go watch he nastiest highlights almost ever made. When he signed at WVU, it was a great day of course!
K. dot The best HS RB I've ever seen. And this includes Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson and Najee Harris. For a little man, he did things that defies logic.
My goodness, Noel Devine, Chris Rainey, and Joe McKnight. All class of 2007 (the same year my brother graduated from high school), and I remember watching all their high school tapes, thinking they'd all be NFL stars one day. It just goes to show you can flat out destroy high school competition, and not amount to anything after that.
Devine had a game as a sophomore in HS where he rushed for 365 yards and 6 touchdowns on 9 carries and also returned a kick for an 84 yard touchdown. So he had 7 touchdowns on 10 touches .
This dude rushed for 4,500 yards in the big East, dominated a top ranked battle in the sugar bowl game as a freshman behind pats white and Steve Slayton, and ran an official 4.31 40 at a 2014 WVU pro day lol. It was a 4.25 at first lol. I’m pretty sure he was running around 4.2 when he was in high school and freshman year at WVU. He had insane contact balance and shake AND that speed. He was sort of like Barry Sandwrs and many many people said that about him. He had insane expectations as a freshman at WVu and lived up to all of it! Well his senior year was a bit of a let down but he was injured all year and tried to play and even missed 3 games, and that’s actually the foot injury that ruined his pro chances. But yeah. Noel Devine is one of the best running backs I’ve ever seen outside of the NFL
He went to West Virginia and got drafted by the Eagles 2011 then our homeboy Pop got killed while he was at training camp shit wasn’t the same after that RIP Pop been 13 yrs crazy man I raised them boys
It blows my mind that DeVine went on to never be heard of. He was just…he was so special in high school and college. Everyone who followed football knew Noel. His godfather who helped raise him was Deion Sanders. ESPN was talking about him senior year of HS because he was literally having games with 7 touches and 5 touchdowns. Then at WVU even behind Slayton and Pat White as a freshman he STILL managed to dominate their sugar bowl game vs Oklahoma, and rush that year for 600 yards on like 8 TDs on 70 carries. Then he had back to back years of 1200-1500 yards and tons of TDs, and probably like 10 50 yard touchdown runs. His senior year he was injured a bit so he only ran for like 980 or something, but still had a bunch of good games and long runs. He made it on some NFL rosters for a minute but idk if he ever got a real touch. They all just said he was too small, and I’m pretty sure by that point all of the touches his 4 years in college might be worn on him and the injury really hurt him. I think his 40 was 4.43 but he was too injured from the foot injury he had all senior year to run at the combine. That’s really what took away his shot at the NFL they said. In 2014 a few years after college he clocked 4.25 at a WVU pro day, went down officially as a 4.31 40. I could almost guarantee that when he was in HS he was running real 4.25ish 40s. He was also a nearly Olympic level sprinter. His speed and shake was something else. He got a LOT of Barry Sanders comparisons! It’s just the injury that changed the trajectory of his career. He was never the same. Honestly he might have been an NFL star if he came out in this modern era where having the type of speed he has and shake he had can do so much for you even at the pro level. But he was 5’6-5’7”
It's a crying shame that no team in the NFL gave this man a chance to play in the league. There are so many NFL player's before him, his size & even bigger that did very well in the NFL & Noel Devine was much more talented than they were. I just can't believe no one had enough faith in him to draft him. It's mind boggling. If he would have been drafted he would have been a hall of famer! Again, a crying shame!
BreuckelensFinest Definitely True, he had got a really bad case of turf toe. He lost a lot of his explosiveness. He's actually in this thing called spring league right now and there is some NFL and CFL scouts there. Hoping he proves to everyone it was a mistake not giving him a chance. Hopefully he gets another opportunity
Hawkeye96Gaming Ah I see. Well, i pray for him and wish him well. He is one of the best RBs I've ever seen on any level. He just has it. Thank you for sharing this info with me.
He did get a shot in the NFL but couldn’t get past the practice squad. Not many people truly realize what a different level the NFL is. It’s unlike any other sport in the world.
He just didn't put in the effort needed to get the adequate strength and size needed to ball as a RB in the NFL... I too was very mezmerized by his HS highlights when I was younger but the man was like 160 lbs shortly before the combine... that ain't cutting it.
@@DiceAJay Wrong. He left camp because he was dealing with the loss of his friend, a newborn child, turf toe injury and that street life. Noel currently is on the coaching staff at North Ft Myers High where is son plays running back.
