Really like your building Chris, your obviously a perfectionist, and very methodical. Please can you do a build video on the extreme flight 78" extra as I have just got one. Keep up the excellent video,s my friend.
hi Great video, I just bought this plane as a kit, without any instructions, and when I downloaded them, it never said what size prop. What are you using or recommend? Thx
I was surprised that you dont use a Seperate UBEC on your ESC. I was tought to always add a seperate one and not trust the one that runs the speed controller. I am assuming that was a Castle which is supposed to be the best on the market. I was also re educated by Dave on the EE C Blog that the ratings are not correct as stated for peak sustained power out put on those as well as non sustained power. The ammount of heat generated would cause it to go into thermal shut down. You can look that You Tube video up yourself. It certainly opened my eyes. As I stated in your first part of this video series, yours has been the most comprehensive of any I have watched so far. I will greatly benifit from it getting my Vintage Graupner 300 extra ready for its remaiden after buying it out of storage and only being flown once before, then put away because its previous owner was intimidated by its size and speed. Thankyou again. Scott Firman.
+Chris Jewett I wouldnt mind checking one out really. I dont mind paying a little more, especially when its a 4 or 5 hundred dollar plane. Not including electronics of course.
+scott firman I see the castle was on the list of aformentioned ESC's. Face it,no ESC can possibly dissapate the heat created that the listed rating is for on the unit. The size of the heat sink would make it impossible to use. Dont take my word for it, EEC Blog is the place to witness how these units handle the rated power listed, that being said,I am not questioning you my friend, its the listed rating I am questioning. If I had the proper lab I would be more than happy to put it to the test,oh wait,it was already done. I dont claim to be an electrical engineer,no. I do believe the product does perform well,I personally dont like placing all my eggs in one basket, not any more. Call it insurance really. If you can take out two life insurance policy's wouldnt you do it? If you could Insure your vehicle for more than just liability wouldnt you do it? Thats really all I am saying. If I invested thousands of dollars in a large scale multi engine plane, you bet I would be adding a UBEC. Really, why not add one to your single engine plane? I guess when it comes to the world of electronics,I trust no one. Faith in a product is like investing in waterfront property in Florida during hurricane season. I know....lighten up. Just hate to see people get so religious over a product. I really did pick up some great tips on your video's. I have a few friends in high places in the RC world that will be most interested in your video's. Great job. I plan on watching them all. Knowledge is power my friend.
Thanks for answering. Mine mxs had the A50-14 xs but I changed it with a Rimfire 80 cause of some bearings problems (pheraps this motor on 6s is at his limit).Rimfire seems very good too. Taloon 90 ...at the moment... works great . Hyperyons servos have jittery actually but I tried a solution on youtube and it works. However mxs is fantastic but looks a little bit rude than other extremeflight exspeccially on pre-stall figure (better on f3A)....isn't it or it's a wrong idea?
Hi , my English is not good enough to learn all from video or forum so I try to ask here ...we say "Trying doesn't cost" :) I'm going to use Hacker A50 14xs v2 ...did someone tried it? Hyperion Atlas DH 16 FMD servos all around could be a good choice ? I'm going to use Talon 90 Castle creation esc with separated 7,4 battery for servos...will it work well? Thanks a lott (not much info about this model here in Italy)

Vents your ailerons do the covering will stay tight on a hot day. Those pockets between the aileron stringers are air tight otherwise and will puff out as the air expands in the sun light.

The Extreme Flight ESCs are quality stuff the BEC does not fail. Thousands of hours of success with these.
