@@DeeDellimore You promised you would delete any hate speech from that long thread and yet I now see you have left that defamatory attack on me from Cerissa Powell on that long thread
@@marthaedwards8199 honey, i receive so many comments on this video and havent even checked that thread again. Sorry you felt attacked by someone but its not in my power to police everyone. I do what I can, the rest you do for yourself. dont like what someone says? Best thing to do is block them💜
Coming from an expert skater, it is good to learn how to proficiently skate forwards and backwards first. Then you go into transitioning from front to back and then back to front. Then you move into balancing on your heels and toes. Then you move into spins (heel-toe and then toe spins). After all of that, you can start into more advanced moves like pivots and other moves you want to learn. It will take awhile so be patient. I have many people coming up to me asking me to teach them moves but can't do the basics. It took some of us 5, 10, 15 years to get to this point. It won't happen over night but you have to practice continuously to get better.
Quick Notes: 1. Weight Placement (Good Posture)--Slowly Squat downward while practicing balancing from left to right. 2. Lay an egg-- while feet snake out as going into a squat. 3. Bubbles- While skating backwards cross one foot over the other. 4. 2 ways to stop 5. No front wheels 6. Skate with one foot in front of the other... Loved this video. Watched it twice. Thank you for taking the time to help us get stronger at skating. So fun ❤️🎈
Good morning Nice ok. Your videos are beautiful. I always support you too. I hope I get noticed and shout out to your vlog idol ERWIN CAVITE TV from Philippines 🇵🇭.
I skated a lot growing up, but haven't skated in 15 or so years and forgot how. This was probably the most helpful video to me on how to get started again. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
OMGGG Exact comment I was looking for. !!!!!LOL, Grew up skating ALWAYS owned my own. Last few times skating ⛸️was maybe 4 years ago😬😬. Went last week 🤬🤬 was like how did I forget , ?why so hard...outta shape CLEARLY was what I gathered. Smh. Last night bought skates at childhood rink. Adjusted, fit great etc. Skated 2 hours only stopped ONCE for 15 minutes to rest and water..😁 Def a great workout & fun!!! Great video
Same! I skated almost every weekend from 6-16 years old and then I stopped once I started driving. Now 20 years later it’s like I’ve went back to almost beginner level. I’m trying to gain the proficiency I once had but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m so wobbly.
@@BlackRosary81 practice, yourbody has changed since then so your weight distribution has also changed. your brain needs practice to adjust to those changes hope by now you made some progress
For anyone who believes that you forget how to do things, always keep this in Mind; even when you stop doing something you've done for a very long Time, your body doesn't completely forget, believe it or not. As someone who has been skating on and off for more than 22+ years, your Mind & Body still retains a little of that knowledge you've had for years. 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Absolute beginner at 62(!) I got a lot from this tutorial! So important to know what your body is doing and I guess with practicing it becomes second nature, thanks Dee!
Absolute beginner as well. How is it going? I just got my first skate shoes as my new year resolution and I am not giving up. Quite challenging but I can do it!
This is so wild since in America it’s so normal to pay $20 on a Friday night to skate with a ton of people on the same in the same area. You can skate in the middle of the flore if you’re a beginner. It’s certainly not ideal for beginners. You can’t go there everyday because it may be closed and it’s expensive.
I love the way you explain everything. I just started back April 2021. Got my skates and I'm looking forward to the journey from this point. So far I'm still in the beginning of keeping good balance. You have a good point when it comes to weigh distribution. Still learning this all over again at age 39. Thank you for your video. 💜
Yes!! I started skating backwards today and came home to watch this video. I’m happy to report I naturally layed my eggs and closed my butt so much I’m sore! Success I would say. Thank you so much for this extremely informative video.
Girl, you skating backwards and pressing out "laaay that eggg" had me hollering! Thanks for the tips, they are so, so useful and your description for everthing is very clear. Great to learn from someone who also startet fairly recently!
I just love that you share which muscles to invoke and when and how to shift your weight. I find this MOST helpful! I am so grateful you are sharing this! :)
You gotta ska'WEEEEEEZE the kittycat 12:50 .... I HOLLERED!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm SO JEALOUS OF THE SPACE YOU'VE FOUND!!!! Ugh, it's GORGEOUSSSSS and SPACIOUS, the floor is PERFECT, and there's plenty of PERSONAL room to be UNBOTHERED BY KOLONIZED HUMANS!!! #IntrovertLife I want oneeee!!!!! 😭😭😫
I know you probably won't see it as it's an old video but it was extremely helpful for me! I could not do the bubbles for the life of me and thanks to you I'm bubbling like crazy 💃❤️
For those struggling with the plow stop, the one from the bubbles, don't think about curving your skate, push your legs straight out to your sides. That helped me.
the analogies you give actually helped me understand a lot! i also appreciate you showing your full form for the bubbles since i was hanging such a hard time until you said what muscles specifically help control this
Best explanation/demo of a bubble I've seen...I've been trying to do it and could not get my feet to come together going forward until hearing you explain that you need to bend SUPER low as a beginner. Thanks!
I love your approach so much! Its really easy to understand and very beginner friendly. I was struggling with other videos because of terminology and such. You explain everything so well and understand where beginners are, especially us who haven’t skated before and don’t know what to expect
I’m new to skating and find every time I get my skates on I’m starting from “scratch” - this was super helpful for warming up I’ll be doing bubbles every time I start 😀😀🛼
I’ve watched about 3 other videos trying to learn how to easily go frontwards, and this is the first one that I’ve actually found efficient . Thank you!
You convinced me to get rollers! After skeelering for years and trying to get back into it but my ankles collapsing on me all the time, i finally decided to switch to rollers. And its so different from skeelers but im already getting the hang of it. Definitely have to find my balance but its so much more comfortable. Your videos will definitely help me with my next steps! Thanks girl!
I love the way you instruct!! you have this calm and reassuring vibe abt u that make me feel like i can do it too if i just practice!! thank u for ur tips and wisdom :))
I ordered myself my first pair of skates since I was a teenager. I used to skate when I was little (quad skates) and then inline/rollerblades when I was a teenager. I'm so excited. I hope some of it just comes back to me...I can remember what it feels like.
This was great! Thank you so much! I know this stuff from my youth but it was a great refresher and I had my interested kids watch it who want to learn☺️🤜🤛
love the way you explain backwards bubble 😆 I'm working on that at the moment. So far I can only do 2 at a time. I've been thinking of that area as my lower bum but this will now live rent-free in my brain forever!!!
I really enjoyed your video! As it's aimed at beginners I'd like to add that the toe stop is better used only while going backwards, in the drag method you've shown it can lead you to roll your ankle depending on the surface you're skating on and your speed. Edit: going backwards as in turnaround toe stop
I've been struggling with stopping with my toe stop and like you mentioned, it leads me to roll my ankle and it strains it quite a lot, what do you suggest?
What a helpful video! Been out of skating for several years now and just took the skates out of the closet. You are lucky to have a nice smooth place to skate!
Thank you so much for sharing this because I literally just started roller skating last night & this video is definitely gonna help me with the basics. Love it!!! 🥰🛼
Very helpful video! Thanks for explaining everything so clearly. ☺️I had a pretty bad fall yesterday because I picked up too much momentum and was scared to stop😩😂 so I dove into some grass SMH hardest grass I've ever touched!🤣I have to perfect stopping ASAPidly lol! Thanks again!
I know how to skate, just really interested in learning new tricks etc, also getting myself a new pair of roller skates❤️More skating videos please😫love them🥰
Pick a move and work on it. Pick something that's geared to your skillset strength. Learning to balance on your toes and heels help tremendously so I say begin with those.
You did a great job of explaining these drills! I couldn't get the hang of bubbles until your explanation lmao I like these drills because they feel a lot more beginner friendly than a bunch of other videos these I can do hahaha

"Lay the egg, then close your butthole" was what made me finally get backward bubbles. LOL
The power of visualisation 😂
I've been cry/laughing at this for a minute 😂

Sounds good 😊
How long would you say it takes to become proficient at forward skating, specifically ?
