Great reminders guys! I have to mention a great tool for weeds for those who haven't heard of it, the *Hula Hoe*. I can weed my whole garden without bending over in no time, then just rake up the dead weeds! It is my favorite garden tool, hands down! Google it... it goes by many names but I THINK Hula Hoe is the original. My friend, who is in her 60's, said that's what her father called it.
I just got myself some knee pads and I think they will really help with my knee pain. Easier than dragging around the kind you place on the ground and then kneel on!
Take it easy out there everybody!

Dear Bob and Brad, I like the kneeling bench but it seems like it would not for anybody over 200 pounds.
Well I have lost 30 pounds - I have another hundred to go good Lord help me. I enjoy watching the two of I’ve learned a lot about exercise!

Marsha Hill see If you can fit either some bricks or solid wood blocks underneath it, to fill in the gap. That should give the bench more support for you.

@Marsha Hill take a look at the kneeler link in the description box. A little pricey, but has other features, & states that it can support 300+ pounds. Hope this helps.

Something else useful, I found the Worx brand 20 volt edger and their blower to be the lightest on the market. I can edge my lawn, using their edger which is wheeled, so very little lifting, plus the handle is adjustable, so it will accommodate for different user heights (less bending). The blower is so lightweight, it does not bother my back at all. Only thing the string provided with the edger is really bad. But you can buy better quality line trimmer and rewind the spools yourself with that. I’m using Vortex line and it does a much better job, you can also try some of the lines made by the higher end edgers such as Echo or Stihl. I also use a personal pace type mower which does not require as much pushing, sort of like power assisted pushing for the mower.
I also use the garden bench they showed, but another trick is a long handled weeder (they are about 36-40” long). If you are kneeling on the ground, keep the weeder near you, then you can use it like a pole to help stand back up. Also there are really nice thick kneeling pads that are about 3” thick on Amazon and in garden centers, have not seen them in big box stores, they are made of some black spongy material. I use the both inside and outdoors. I usually put cardboard underneath it to keep it clean. Much better than those 1” foam pads you usually find.
For tank sprayers, there are back saver designs that have taller handles. Hudson makes them. To avoid lifting heavy sprayers, buy two of them - mix two half gallons of solution and put half in each sprayer. You can spray a gallon continuously that way without having to stop and remix. Or with one sprayer, you can make half a gallon for the sprayer, then an additional half gallon solution in a separate container. When the sprayer runs out, it’s a short break to pour in that other half when the sprayer empties out. Personally, I don’t like to be interrupted when spraying, so that’s why I use two sprayers. But these are a couple options to avoid heavy lifting.
I also use a lightweight dolly for moving large bags of mulch, soil, fertilizer around. I slide the bags onto the dolly and then bungee cord them to the dolly and wheel them around to where I am working. If you can’t move the bag to where you are working, place it nearby, then scoop the contents of the bag into a smaller plastic bucket and then use that to distribute into the garden bed. As the large bag gets empties and is lighter, you can carry it without the dolly, or lift it into a wagon if you don’t want to carry it. Another option is to pre-measure for each bed and put in smaller lightweight buckets (Dollar Store has them). Then put the buckets in a wagon and wheel them to the area where you are working. The small Gorilla carts are great for these kinds of tasks, plus it has a dump feature for other tasks. Their large, wide air-filled wheels can go over all types of terrain without as much of effort to pull.
Not for back injuries so much, but I also use a couple beach umbrellas when gardening. They keep the work area shaded and some brands offer designs that reduce UV exposure. I’ve also used the pole to help stand up from kneeling.
It takes a little out of the box thinking, but with these ideas, I’ve been able to garden for the past couple seasons after a back injury. It has even helped me gets stronger. Hope these ideas are helpful.

I have two garden kneelers and I wore them both out. A neighbor was able to fix them by peeling off the cushion with a paint scraper, replacing the plywood base with a new thicker board and gluing the cushions back on. Plus he added angle iron supports on the ends to give it more strength. Ready for many more years of gardening!

They sell those grabber tools at our dollar tree store so I bought a few of them to have around the house. They are helping my back a lot!
These ones may not be strong enough to grab items down from shelves, but they are great for picking things up off the floor.

What would help Foxie Dog, is for Bob and Brad to come over to weed eat, pull weeds, spray for weeds, pick up tree limbs, cut up tree limbs, trim the rest of the tree's. Pressure wash. Pick up all the 3 inch rock to be placed down the driveway, mix up concrete and pour sidewalk's, clean out the garage and clean up all the yard tools, then we can start painting. That's what would help out Foxie Dog.

Also if you wana pick things up around the house, things high up in the cabinet then go to Amazon and type in “Grabber Reacher Tool”. Also the therapist Bob in this video would frequently say in his older videos that He Would Use An Ice Pack for His Back After Gardening. You can get a full size ice pack for your back on Amazon too.
