    LYRICS:
The time has come to depart
And from the scene remove her heart
With a cycle closure that's near
    Comes self-sacrifice freed from fear
    From the dust, be reborn
    From the dust, gloriously ascend
    From the dust, a rebirth
From the dust, fuel to emerge again
    Burst into flames, now
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes
    Immortality dwells on her wings
A dying breath as she sings
The end's bitter taste pervades her deepest
Consumed by blaze, she begins a renewal quest
    From the dust, be reborn
    From the dust, gloriously ascend
    From the dust, a rebirth
From the dust, fuel to emerge again
    Burst into flames, now
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes
The end is only the beginning!
    From the dust, be reborn
    From the dust, gloriously ascend
    From the dust, a rebirth
From the dust, fuel to emerge again
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes
    Rise! Rise! Rise!
    From the ashes

I am glad, and a bit relieved, that y'all enjoyed this song and music video from Crypta. Prior to 2020, the only all-female rock/metal band that I listened to on a regular basis was the Brazilian band Nervosa. Since 2020 I have discovered The Warning and at least 10 really good to great Japanese bands. Nervosa broke up in late 2019 and two of the members, Fernanda Lira and drummer Luana Dametto. This video also includes the guitarists Sonia "Anubis" Nusselder and Taina Bergamaschi. Sonia left the band a year ago and was replaced by Jessica di Falchi who is now a permanent member. I could not agree more about Fernanda being a force of nature. Crypta will be releasing their 2nd album sometime this year.
My first introduction to vocals and music that would become known as death metal was also a Brazilian band. The band was Sepultura and the vocalist was Max Cavalera. I consider Sepultura's 1993 album Chaos A.D. to be one of the best metal albums of all time. I have played that CD many, many times over the last 30 years and I will probably play it after typing this. Although Max has not been the vocalist for many years, Sepultura is still going strong.
The first female harsh vocalist I heard was the great Angela Gossow of the band Arch Enemy. This was over 20 years ago when I heard the album Wages of Sin. The first three albums with Angela might be Arch Enemy's best three albums (although the recent Deceivers is right up there). Angela retired from being the Arch Enemy vocalist to being the band's manager about 10 years ago.
In my opinion, there is a clear top three female harsh vocalists in metal right now. They are Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy (Angela's handpicked successor) and Fernanda Lira of Crypta. Everyone else is a tier below, although Mayu of Nemophila is close. However the queen of harsh vocalists will always be Angela Gossow.
Edit: I almost forgot, there are two "Making Of" videos (Part 1 and Part 2) about this music video. Y'all might be interested in some behind the scenes with the band and the production. Not for reaction, just enjoyment when you have the time. The longest of the two is only about 10 minutes. Thank you for introducing us to this band, Dan! They are great and we hope to cover them again in the future. We agree on female harsh vocalists with Tatiana, Alissa and (now, for us) Fernanda being way up there on the list. We also love Mayu, as well as Hanabie's Yukina and their particular style of harsh vocals. As for Sepultura, I (Itai) used to listen to them a fair bit back in the day. Chaos A.D. was the dominant album for me as well, and bands like Pantera, Metallica, Disturbed and many others were dominating my various playlists at the time. These days, as far as male harsh vocalists, Lorna Shore's Will Ramos comes to mind, though I don't listen to many such bands anymore, but with the show going in these types of directions, that is quickly changing... 🙂
Thank you again for your continued support and for introducing us to all this new (to us), quality music. We are loving it! Much appreciated! 🙏

@@myindieprodentertainment My favorite male metal vocalist is probably Matt Heafy of Trivium. I discovered Trivium almost 15 years ago when I first heard the album Shogun which is probably still my favorite Trivium album although Ascendancy and In Waves are right up there. Heafy has great clean vocals as well as harsh vocals but not quite on the level of Tatiana (of course, nobody is at her level). Will Ramos is a great talent but sometimes is way over the top for my taste.

@@danw6048 Trivium is another band I'm aware of, yet never had the chance to listen to, so I'll have to re-add them to my "To Listen" list, which I might get to at some stage (just too busy 😆). As for Will and Lorna Shore, they very quickly grew on me due to depth and intensity.

Fernanda said this song uses the story of the Phoenix as a metaphor for like a rebirth. She’s all about symbolism. Her old band, Nervosa were thrash and she sang mostly about social and political issues. She wanted to form a death metal band, but still talk about those same issues. So she figured out a way to write death metal lyrics and music to talk about the same subject matter, but from a different perspective. For example, in the song, “Starvation”, the message is that no one on the planet should be dying of starvation, yet it still happens. The lyrics are written from the perspective of the person who is starving instead of the person trying to bring awareness to it. But by doing that, she’s still bringing awareness to the issue. Very cool band. 🤘🏼

Indeed, a very cool band. We loved this song and we hope their episodes get more attention and more requests come for us to cover them in our episodes. There are a few requests on our VERY long request list, but most are toward the middle to bottom of the list (as they came later in the game) and will take a long time for us to get to (unless they are, again, requested via Buy Me A Coffee, and get bumped up the list). We'll see what happens. But yes, we are intrigued to find out more about them and hear more of their work. Quality stuff!
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. We truly appreciate it! 🙏

Crypta conquering the world! With 'nice' and absolutely tasty music.
Check out their new track, "Lord of ruins", from the upcoming album, if you will. It's fenomenal.

Thank you. It's been added to the request list around the time you made it (someone requested it in a comment just before you). We do those in order they come in, so with the list being as long as it is, it is still more toward the bottom than the middle of the list and will take us a while to get to, but we keep pushing forward! As I (Itai) told the previous commenter, just from the title, the song sounds like a banger!
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. We truly appreciate it! 🙏

Great musicians. After reading the lyrics I had a strong picture of Phoenix who rises from the ashes. Fire often is a symbol for purification. But listening to her (amazing) voice and watching the footage, I’m slightly concerned what could come out of the ashes. 😟 I think the crypta remains empty again. It was great to listen to a new band again, thank you both and of course Dan. He knows good music, for sure.👍

Thank you, Andrea! We hope to cover Crypta again in future, but much will depend on whether they get requested via BMAC as those have been keeping us very busy of late (so much in fact, that it took me this long to respond to this comment 😉)!
As always, thank you for taking the time to view and engage. We appreciate you! 🙏

Thank you for this reaction to this amazing quite new band! I hope they will get more and more visibility.
May I suggest a reaction to the band Igorrr with the official video of the song "ieuD"?
To have the best impact of reaction, I would recommend to go blind without background check before :)
I've just discovered your channel and I love the fact that you take time to analyze and give impressions.
    Keep up this good channel!

Thank you for the kind words and apologies for the late response. We are struggling to keep up with comments with us spending most of our free time trying to make more episodes with Buy Me A Coffee requests coming in (those are bumped up to the top of the request list as they come in). With regular (free) requests that come in via comments, we add them to our hugely long list and do them in order of "first come, first served" as often as we can. Your request was added to the list (at the time you made it) and we hope to get to it in future (the list is VERY long). If you wish for it to be bumped up, the BMAC link is in the description. The donations coming from there help us keep the channel afloat, as well as improve the quality wherever we can.
Thank you again for taking the time to view and engage. We truly appreciate it! 🙏
