Triste means sad, solemn in French. I try to save as much early vintage/ antique doll clothes I find or get given. I try sizing them down or combining them if they can't be rescued. Sometimes all it takes is balance rips under "new" seams. I can't wait to learn from Linda's sewing classes. I prefer handsewing or French couture hand sewing my seams. I agree with Linda about seam rippers, embroidery scissors. Dolls are their own world. And I sew my own clothes from Japanese patterns and I can't read Japanese. Most likely that dress is a silk or cotton silk taffetta. Fabric melting makes me always sad.
Now I don't feel so bad about my hankie collection from the thrift stores. And the hankie dress class will be so much fun.
Too bad you are so far away from where I live, I would love to help out...

I also know her by th name of long face Cody Jumeau, the story goes, she was not only used as a copy of and also named for Buffalo Bill Cody's daughter.
