@@Nakamura65 Nah, same model but that other one was in WAY better shape and that was filmed not too long ago, this episode was filmed almost a year ago.
Big difference in attitude working with something he knows front to back and really likes, and something he doesn't fully understand and doesn't really care about. Lots more fun with the tractor!
I have a lot of childhood memories with a tractor like this. My granddad had it for over 50 years, did all the work himself. The guy he sold to restored it.
My Father had a 1948 8N tractor. It was an absolute workhorse! We had a bush hog we used with the PTO to cut the lawn in our field. We connected a plow blade to the 3 point hitch to clear snow. Just a great machine!
2 classics just goes to show you they don't build em like they use to! Good job Derrick keeping these gems running and bringing them back to life! I've said this before only complaint is i wish the episodes were longer...🇨🇦
I worked for a marketing company that supported part sales for New Holland Corp, which owned the Ford tractor line at that time. (early 2000's). Parts for 8 & 9 N tractors were still a major seller even though they hadn't been produced for over 50yrs.
I bought a basket case 2N at auction last year, despite living in a neighborhood and not even having enough property to need a riding mower. No regrets.
@@saladtrucker hillbillys come from all over the country, some of the most redneck people i've ever met were from wisconsin and the dakotas so minnesota would fit in perfectly i'm sure
You can definitely tell the difference between a homemade video (made with a gopro) and having a film crew come along with you. Always great to see old vehicles being brought back to life.
Interesting. What could have been restored/re-painted into a really cool, classic tractor was turned into, well, that GRAY thing. Mr. Bieri and I quite often have very different tastes, that's for sure.
Same, His had a Sherman forklift attachment for his sawmill. Backwards steering was crazy to go from that to normal lol. And with the weight bias steering would get caught up on rocks in the yard, So you didn't hold the wheel tight.
You can use it for more than just mowing I really like seeing old equipment being saved and used the way they were meant for really enjoy seeing this video
They are all worth fixing and restoring. I recently bought a 8N and I love it. Most of them need lots of work to bring them up to specs but they are definitely worth it. Parts are cheap and you can find them everywhere.
Jessica also said she wanted to keep it, and was willing to work out a deal to keep it. Maybe that actually happened, or this video has been sitting for a while.
Have a feeling this was shot along time ago. They recently did a video on a tractor he brought back to life from the new property they bought. Mysteries…
The 60" rear discharge Woods mower is THE perfect mower for the N tractor. Ive got 40+ years on these tractors and have used about every mower out there. Best combo there is for that tractor. Period.
First thing i ever touched as a resto was an old grey fergy, i was 9 years old in rural cumbria in the uk, helping my 17 year old mate next door on a farm :D
Nice restore. But I prefer the original colors and Ford stamped fenders. The all grey reminds me of a military vehicle. Hope you enjoy this classic tractor and get many years of use.
For my lawn tractor, a FarmAll A, I went to the local motorcycle shop and picked up used motorcycle tire cast offs, they have a rounded shoulder that does not gouge into the turf / sod and they are free !
Got a 50s 8n in the barn that’s sat for close to 30yrs needing a revival and this one might have pushed me closer to getting that old girl choochin again
I really like the all grey! I didn't think I would but the finished product looks great. That view of the "slightly used" car and truck lot looks very interesting.
I like this stuff I am trying to learn more about engines I’m still new and this show helps me. This is cool because I have a ford tractor that does not work and looks just like the one on this show
For whats it worth. Back in my time we would put a half cup of course ground black pepper in the cooling system and let it run at idle until the crack in block plugs up from the pepper. Worked 90% of the time and lasted.
To be honest I was a little skeptical going all grey! My grandpa would probably be throwing a s fit!!! It looks great and really like the turf rear tires. It was definitely worth bringing it back to life.
That’s awesome. I would love to find an old tractor to putt around with. Prices too seem reasonable. Now I just need some property. Anyways great show, you sir are definitely my fav car guy. Keep it up!
watched the Barrapoopa last night and this today, what more could a feller ask for.
isnt this the tractor he got running couple weeks ago from his other property?
Could use a lil zip ties n bias plies along with it.👌

Dude restoring a tractor, with a 55 Chevy and doing comedy. Legend.
love the lightning cube and make-it-happen-er
🇺🇸
His own channel Vice Grip Garage is even better. Sometimes 2.5 hour revival stories...
This guy here knuckle busted or busted knuckle I love watching his stuff he makes it look so easy but yet he's like roadkill but better
That's MURICA, y'all!!
Towing a Ford tractor with a 55 Chevy. What a life. I would love to work with Derick.
Ok, can not get any more 50s than this. Love it. 😊😊😊😊😊

Love this kind of content. No turbo, no nitrous. Just plain old Americana at its finest.

I spent a many of hours doing work on my grandpa's 8-n back in the 70's. Loved the video Derrick!
“But the whole town said that he should’a used red, but it looked good to Dereeeek”…. 😂
Thanks Dude!!! Always my oasis from the insanity of our world!!!

For a second I thought it was the same tractor from the new property 🤣
So did i. almost got kind of pissed
Love the air freshener on the tractor!! 😂

Well, I’ll be - was not expecting this little surprise! Thanks a bunch.
I would be proud to work that 8N! That is a very nice tractor.
I have absolutely no need for a tractor, but I've always loved Ford 8N's and 9N's and now I want one
I bought a basket case 2N at auction last year, despite living in a neighborhood and not even having enough property to need a riding mower. No regrets.
You replaced the scripted rear fenders with plane jane ones?!!!!! Oofta.
My first car was a 55 with the 6 and 3 on the tree. I love that tractor and car!

Yeah can't say I'm a fan of it being all gray. Think the red/gray contrast would have looked much better.
First tractor I learned to drive on. Grandad bought new. Never left the grove. 100% sickle bar mower.

"It's a delicate, but firm, but soft, but aggressive procedure" haha that about sums it up.
Nice to see it saved and not in the scrap yard!
Beautiful restoration!
I pull a Befco 50" behind my 9n and our yard looks like a golf course without the chemicals.👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

The way it used to be! Definitely a teeshirt.

Nice. (I liked the red and white two tone vibe.)
Holy agricultural childhood. You know a lot about tractors.
Liked it. Better with the original colors.
That’s sharp , astute rig put together 👍
Best family feller TH-camr arround the world 👍🏼 done‼️🚒🚜
Still had the Mountain Dew car in the shop. This has been marinating for a while.
Wasn’t that vehicle a giveaway at some point? Thought it left the fleet 😅

The Mountain Dew car got given away. I passed a different guy pulling it north through Chattanooga not long after the giveaway ended.
I thought I was gonna hate the primer look, but it’s sharp!
I would definitely take it over any riding lawn mower. It come out great 👍🏻
2 awesome projects.
Man that rig turned out nice, I really liked the grey more than I thought I would!
I have a 1952 Ford 8N Tractor. Runs great. I use it to grade my road and to skid logs for firewood.
Love the all gray.
1st tractor I ever learned to drive.
Me too! First "anything" I learned to drive actually!

Yep, same here. Still have my dad's 2N that I have to put back together....... some day.
The tractor looks choice. Thanks for saving it
Im glade you said , Ferguson system , which changed tractors for ever. what you painting it Stonely grey from Massey
Excellent choice of color! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
What a machine. I love it.
Excellent, as usual!!!
I was so hoping to see a flathead V8 go into that little 8N, that would be awesome 👌
Nice. We had a charity tractor run through town last week. A lot of classics. Regards, Stephen.

My grandfather had one of these, and I was supposed to have it when he passed, but my uncle sold it before grandpa was laid to rest.
Unlucky
Love the All Grey paint .. just needs some red pin stripes!
Outstanding Job Bro.... HooAH !!!!
That air freshener though... 👌
Looking good!
Nice little tractor!👍
Cast iron block cracks can be welded. Or if cleaned up and roughened up a bit, JB Weld Steel, reinforced with fiberglass cloth.

Yeah, the grey he went with is the traditional 9N/2N color

Rusty Acres has a different look with fresh cut grass, makes it easier to see the cars, and trucks err future projects.
Love the tractor restoration and the color selection was solid
The air freshener was a nice touch !
So appreciate the keeping it real Love the color choice and wheels. Well done!

Now that is a gem, a couple tubes of JB WELD will fix that crack...WTG on the restoration, looks fantastic!!!
I was kinda thinking it should have been brazzed. Hard to weld cast iron especially the old 1950 cast iron. Or use some lead
Love those tires.
man this is amazing!
More tractors please. love them, that Chevy is a beaut !
I like 8ns, we have 2 and they’ve been reliable for 60+ years
Man are you starting a junkyard around there now
That is the same 55 chevy you used 10 months ago when you bought a boat, still looks good
Excellent video. I always look at the wheel lugs to determine if it's a 9N/2N or an 8N (the 9N/2N has the lugs much farther out from the hub).
You've heard of the V8 funk conversion so throw a 302 bieri conversion in there
