Big difference in attitude working with something he knows front to back and really likes, and something he doesn't fully understand and doesn't really care about. Lots more fun with the tractor!
My Father had a 1948 8N tractor. It was an absolute workhorse! We had a bush hog we used with the PTO to cut the lawn in our field. We connected a plow blade to the 3 point hitch to clear snow. Just a great machine!
I worked for a marketing company that supported part sales for New Holland Corp, which owned the Ford tractor line at that time. (early 2000's). Parts for 8 & 9 N tractors were still a major seller even though they hadn't been produced for over 50yrs.
2 classics just goes to show you they don't build em like they use to! Good job Derrick keeping these gems running and bringing them back to life! I've said this before only complaint is i wish the episodes were longer...🇨🇦
Nice restore. But I prefer the original colors and Ford stamped fenders. The all grey reminds me of a military vehicle. Hope you enjoy this classic tractor and get many years of use.

I bought a basket case 2N at auction last year, despite living in a neighborhood and not even having enough property to need a riding mower. No regrets.
They are all worth fixing and restoring. I recently bought a 8N and I love it. Most of them need lots of work to bring them up to specs but they are definitely worth it. Parts are cheap and you can find them everywhere.
I have a lot of childhood memories with a tractor like this. My granddad had it for over 50 years, did all the work himself. The guy he sold to restored it.
I bought a 1948 from a guy that rebuilds them and no matter when I go out to start it, it fires right up, love it and will never get rid of it. Unbelievable how this tractor was built so solid.
The 60" rear discharge Woods mower is THE perfect mower for the N tractor. Ive got 40+ years on these tractors and have used about every mower out there. Best combo there is for that tractor. Period.
Same, His had a Sherman forklift attachment for his sawmill. Backwards steering was crazy to go from that to normal lol. And with the weight bias steering would get caught up on rocks in the yard, So you didn't hold the wheel tight.
You can use it for more than just mowing I really like seeing old equipment being saved and used the way they were meant for really enjoy seeing this video
Interesting. What could have been restored/re-painted into a really cool, classic tractor was turned into, well, that GRAY thing. Mr. Bieri and I quite often have very different tastes, that's for sure.
First thing i ever touched as a resto was an old grey fergy, i was 9 years old in rural cumbria in the uk, helping my 17 year old mate next door on a farm :D
For my lawn tractor, a FarmAll A, I went to the local motorcycle shop and picked up used motorcycle tire cast offs, they have a rounded shoulder that does not gouge into the turf / sod and they are free !
To be honest I was a little skeptical going all grey! My grandpa would probably be throwing a s fit!!! It looks great and really like the turf rear tires. It was definitely worth bringing it back to life.
That’s awesome. I would love to find an old tractor to putt around with. Prices too seem reasonable. Now I just need some property. Anyways great show, you sir are definitely my fav car guy. Keep it up!
You can definitely tell the difference between a homemade video (made with a gopro) and having a film crew come along with you. Always great to see old vehicles being brought back to life.
I like this stuff I am trying to learn more about engines I’m still new and this show helps me. This is cool because I have a ford tractor that does not work and looks just like the one on this show
I have to say, you got me looking at old cars and got my son looking at Hudsons. I saw a Hudson drive past me on the highway. I have alot to learn, do you know in 1920 Hudson made there first family car.
For whats it worth. Back in my time we would put a half cup of course ground black pepper in the cooling system and let it run at idle until the crack in block plugs up from the pepper. Worked 90% of the time and lasted.
Not sure about swapping out those original fenders with the Ford script, unless the metal was too far gone for a repaint. The rest of the tractor looks great in gray.
Love this content my family has a 53 jubilee Ford tractor that I learn to drive stick on when I was about 8 and too light to push the clutch so I would jump on the pedal and though it in hear haha the good Ole days
We had a Massive ferguson . I remember as kid of 8yr I parked it in off wash dam and it sunk down to the sit . It took my big brother all day to pull it out . In the end just as dad was arriving home from playing gofe a D9 loader was pulling it out . 😅😅
watched the Barrapoopa last night and this today, what more could a feller ask for.
isnt this the tractor he got running couple weeks ago from his other property?
Could use a lil zip ties n bias plies along with it.👌

Towing a Ford tractor with a 55 Chevy. What a life. I would love to work with Derick.
Love this kind of content. No turbo, no nitrous. Just plain old Americana at its finest.

Compared to the other brands' behemoths of the day, the Ford tractor was the greatest thing you could have on a farm. it was simply great.

Well, I’ll be - was not expecting this little surprise! Thanks a bunch.

Nice to see it saved and not in the scrap yard!
Im glade you said , Ferguson system , which changed tractors for ever. what you painting it Stonely grey from Massey
I just bought a 1950 8N with a mower! It runs but she needs some work. I also have a 48 8N and a 56 Chevy I am working on.

Love the All Grey paint .. just needs some red pin stripes!
I would definitely take it over any riding lawn mower. It come out great 👍🏻

Excellent video. I always look at the wheel lugs to determine if it's a 9N/2N or an 8N (the 9N/2N has the lugs much farther out from the hub).
Love the air freshener on the tractor!! 😂
Fresh Shave is the flavor.
The way it used to be! Definitely a teeshirt.
Love these old tractors. My dad and dad's dad had several ford tractors.
Muchas gracias por su video Dios te bendiga
Now that is a gem, a couple tubes of JB WELD will fix that crack...WTG on the restoration, looks fantastic!!!
I was kinda thinking it should have been brazzed. Hard to weld cast iron especially the old 1950 cast iron. Or use some lead
"It's a delicate, but firm, but soft, but aggressive procedure" haha that about sums it up.
“But the whole town said that he should’a used red, but it looked good to Dereeeek”…. 😂
Would have loved it if you re-repaired it with JB Weld! It is doable as the PO did it that way.

Narrow your rear tires up so they aren't wider than your mower and use stabilizer bars to keep mower from drifting left or right.
