I literally cried this morning watching the last two episodes of normal people and shazamed this song, as this got me going. I think it was needed. Nice to know that the original came from an artist I've not heard of. Will be looking for more Keren Ann
Same for me, mate. This song was perfect for the scene and anticipating what was to come. Such a brilliant story. If you like this kind of music, I'd recommend Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld. They made a brilliant concept album called Never Were The Way She Was, which reminded me of Virginia Woolf and World War One, but it's really open for interpretation. Immersive, emotional, tangible, very English imo.
This is a deep and beautiful song. I first heard Anna Calvi's cover that is also beautiful, but Keren Ann deserves top honors for writing and performing it.
Feels like this song paints the sky with the colors of emotion, weaving a tapestry of love and longing that transcends time and space.. I really enjoy this song, it's truly a masterpiece for those who've braved the storm of strange weather in their own hearts.
This is a regular selection of songs that I hold dear. It doesn't matter how many times I hear it. Thank you so much for creating such a haunting, lovely piece of music.

She'll take you back, don't make believe You wanna think it through I've loved before, I'll love again I know that yours was true Wake up slowly, there are blue skies Cutting white lines in black matter I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes Carving silver in strange weather She'll meet a man, we'll make a home And travel to the deep Of further lines with hidden dreams The broken heart to keep Wake up slowly, there are blue skies Cutting white lines in black matter I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes Carving silver in strange weather She'll take you back, don't make believe You wanna think it through I've loved before, I'll love again I know that yours was true Wake up slowly, there are blue skies Cutting white lines in black matter I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes They only want me in strange weather In a small room, on a naked floor, With the blinded heart of black matter I could hear you through the front door Carving silver in strange weather She'll take you back, don't make believe You wanna think it through I've loved before, I'll love again I know that yours was true
Love save the Queen Keren ! Quelqu'un aurait-il enregistré son interprétation solo et rock de "Strange Weather" dans l'émission de Claire Chazal "Passage des Arts" ? Merci d'avance
"Wake up slowly, there are blue skies Cutting white lines in black matter (I) see them shining through your drunken eyes Carving silver in strange weather" Blue skies (future better days/feelings) are cutting white lines (glimpses of hope) in black matter (distress/sad/difficult moments of existence). White lines (idem) are carving silver (promised serenity) in strange weather (uncertainty/disarray). Also to be clear: she speaks to herself and about herself at the 3rd, 2nd and 1st person: she (herself / life / lover), you (herself / lover), I (herself).
There is something about this song that causes a deep and glorious aching in my soul. Beautiful!

and it's about the difficulty of loving someone at a yong age
sorry for my english, i'm french I would love to say more about it
and when I say lots of artists, I mean the music in the soundtracks
Makers of this song should know tht they have done a great job .
She'll take you back, don't make believe
You wanna think it through
I've loved before, I'll love again
I know that yours was true
Wake up slowly, there are blue skies
Cutting white lines in black matter
I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes
Carving silver in strange weather
She'll meet a man, we'll make a home
And travel to the deep
Of further lines with hidden dreams
The broken heart to keep
Wake up slowly, there are blue skies
Cutting white lines in black matter
I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes
Carving silver in strange weather
She'll take you back, don't make believe
You wanna think it through
I've loved before, I'll love again
I know that yours was true
Wake up slowly, there are blue skies
Cutting white lines in black matter
I see them shinin' through your drunken eyes
They only want me in strange weather
In a small room, on a naked floor,
With the blinded heart of black matter
I could hear you through the front door
Carving silver in strange weather
She'll take you back, don't make believe
You wanna think it through
I've loved before, I'll love again
I know that yours was true
This was a wonderful song!

מדהימה.
Hi, trying to work out some of the lyrics' meanings, particularly carving silver verse and 'black matter'. Any ideas welcome 👍🏻
"Wake up slowly, there are blue skies
Cutting white lines in black matter
(I) see them shining through your drunken eyes
Carving silver in strange weather"
Blue skies (future better days/feelings) are cutting white lines (glimpses of hope) in black matter (distress/sad/difficult moments of existence).
White lines (idem) are carving silver (promised serenity) in strange weather (uncertainty/disarray).
Also to be clear: she speaks to herself and about herself at the 3rd, 2nd and 1st person:
she (herself / life / lover), you (herself / lover), I (herself).
