- Outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Cubs top prospect, was acquired in 2021 in a trade that involved sending Javier Báez to the New York Mets. Pete grew up watching Alfonso Soriano and Aramis Ramírez, and later idolized Báez and his style of play. Since joining the Cubs, he's finished rehabbing a shoulder injury, played a full season in the Cubs minor league system and was selected to the MLB All-Star Futures Game in 2022. In the first episode of On Deck, a new series featuring Cubs prospects, get to know PCA and learn more about his experience in the minor leagues.
"In the future with the Cubs I think the goal is to create our own story. We got a pretty big group of people who are going to be impactful players. We all expect World Series plural. I want to bring rings back to the city of Chicago. That's the goal." -Pete Crow-Armstrong

The fact that his mind is always on the work shows he’ll be a nice piece
The lettering on his jersey costs a fortune
That's why when he's finally called up, I'm getting a custom jersey that says PCA
He is going to BE A BIG UPGRADE. He is going to help us so much. I’m definitely
Going to get his jersey
I know ya wrote this 8 months ago, but it hasn’t aged well 😂
@@Yeldineyintun In a good way tho!
He seems to have the right work ethic, good luck young man on what looks to be a promising career.
Pete from Toronto. (Hope our Jays meet the Cubs one season in the W.S)
PCA is one of my favorite if not my favorite minor leaguer. He's gonna go places. I really hope we don't trade him away
I hope these young guys get us back to the playoffs sooner than later. We have some big and upcoming prospects.
This kid is gonna be a beast. Thank you Mets.
Him and mervis both act like they all wanna play together till they do something special. That's awesome. Even if it's just words. Those words sound nice.
This young man has a tremendous future, love to watch him play!
WEAK
Just listening to him gets me fired up!! PCA is going to be a great asset.
Let’s go PCA 🔥🔥🔥
Hope you bring us a ring!!! Excited for you and the other rookies to come up
This makes me want to play mlb the show now. Can’t wait till opening game!
This is pretty awesome. What an exciting kid to watch
It's a cubs gem 💎, great future!
Quality content 🔥
I can’t wait to see this guy at Wrigley! He’s a 5 tool player very hard to come by. Sucks to loose Marquez But I hope PCA is everything as advertised!
It's exciting to think maybe the Cubs can get us cub fans to adore him, get him to all-star status, and then trade him to the Cardinals or Sox. Retiring numbers is so 1900's.
Let’s gooooo. Goosebumps
Today’s the day baby! Welcome to the show PCA
Amazing catch in the Rockies tonight young man ⚾️
Highlight Reel 👊
I’m a Red Sox fan but I’ll tell ya, this kid is a beast.
Best of luck PCA

Bro was born a cub! Crazy! He’s going to be great
No....he was born in California.
THE NEXT GREAT CUB! Welcome PCA! 🐻
I like the last thing he said, "I wanna bring World Series, plural, back to Chicago, that's the goal"
Good luck Pete. I’ll be watching. ⚾️🏆
Man he’s gonna be stud if he don’t start this year he will eventually come in mid season
He has alot of talent just needs to play more and get stronger he will be up with the Big Club in about a year or so !!!
And He Needs Some Sunlight Unless He's A Marilyn Manson Fan. He Looks Goth.
Can't wait for him to get to the big club..
I loved Javy but I think this will turn out to be a good trade.
We’re starting to see the javy Babies come up now, I see that heart that javy plays with with this guy. Can’t wait to see him called up.
It feels like 2013 2014 all over again. The kids are coming.
Yeah
Dude I love our boys, I coach so much so I missed a lot of games last year but I can say I pipeline is so damn deep cubs is only a paddle jump away from getting another ring 💍 just because how deeep we will be in 2024 and 2025 especially it batters in all categories
Go Cubs!

He wants the group to win rings and stick together, does he know who he plays for? Lol but do wish him the best👍, great looking prospect, sounds like a good guy.
He has a long way to go but at this point he reminds me of Jim Edmonds.
Please sign correa!! & I like this kid he looks like something special
Fly the W
Baseball season is underway, and you better get ready for PCA. Sing it with me
that cubs hat
Kids going to have a long future in the bigs due to that defense. Offensively he just needs those ABs. His floor is always going to be really high. I do think they brought him up too early though.
I love Javier Baez, and I can’t help but wonder if being traded messed w him mentally and aided his downfall. But hot damn am I happy it happened 😂
Has there ever been another player with 2 rows for name?
Please God, don't let him get hurt. Please God don't let him get hurt. Please God don't let him get hurt.
If I'm the Mets I would be kicking myself letting this guy go just for a half season of Baez
Great video and I love this kid. Just need him to get a little tan, put on 10 pounds of muscle and he is Chicago's poor ( meaning goes both ways as intended ) man's version of Trout
Why not letting him play this coming season? Baseball should treat young player like NBA/NFL does. I think it's time to make some changes in MLB
hes not ready yet, hasnt played a game above high-a, no point in putting a guy in, having him be way overmatched and hurting his confidence while he doesnt develop at all. i think he's gonna be amazing tho
@@llamabaseball basketball rookies play since they got drafted, most NFL players too, why baseball can't give them the chance to develope and improve their talent in the big show?
@@MichaelCohen23 because high school and college pitching to MLB is an absolutely massive jump lol. Most guys struggle when they get started in rookie league and a-ball, the majors would be a disaster
@@MichaelCohen23 While true most NFL rookies aren't starting and NBA has a summer league and developmental league where a number of rookies play before going to an NBA roster. This guy is 20 and A/AA minor league would be a massive leap to Majors. They are projecting him to go Major in 2024. Far easier to let him develop and move up naturally.
There's a huge difference from the nba/nfl/nhp draft. There's a ton of players that get drafted out of high school. Unless you're Mike Trout or Bryce Harper you're not getting to the ML level until you're 22-24. If at all a lot of them don't live up to the hype.
Crow-Armstrong to headline a Soto trade?
Padres get: PCA + Morel + Top 15-20 prospect
Cubs get: Soto + Grisham (FA 2026, 2 WAR) + Top 6-10 prospect
I wish him nothing but success. However, I have seen way too many hot, can't miss, guaranteed All-Star rookies explode onto the scene, only to flame out in a year -- or less. My rule is, "Until you put three full years in at the major league level, you have proven nothing to me."
Wow, what a brave rule to have. I personally say, "Until you've been in the league for 10 years, won two Silver Sluggers, a Gold Glove, and WS ring, you've proven nothing to me."
lol

WOW... And Here I Thought This Boy Was Native American? He Looks Pale Like A Goth Girl!
Stupidest trade by the Mets.
Kid is WEAK. He cannot hit a big league fastball. Much over-hyped. Hitting .210 at the moment.
He just got to the majors and his defense more than makes up for his mid offense. He doesn't even have to hit to be a threat, if he gets on base it's wraps. I love him as a player personally. Give him a season and he'll be a star
