I love the holistic message of this video... "conceptual myopia"... Opening yourself to new, different experiences. Seeing life anew.

Well now Jake says that outdoor time is NOT correlated with reduced myopia (on his reaction video to the Huberman interview), however of course our biology is designed to be outside so I will continue to, and it probably does in fact help reduce progression of myopia at least

I'm living in the country, so there are no billboards or anything to really focus on. I can't understand how I can practice active focus with trees. I have -6.5, so without glasses I just see green spots around me. With glasses I still can't see trees nearly as sharp as people with 20/20. For example I may stand with somebody with 20/20 and they will see wild turkeys in the bushes, but I can't see them at all, even though my glasses are supposed to be strong enough. (I don't remember seeing trees super sharp ever in my life). Anyway, I live in the country for 2 years already, walking every day for many hours (I don't have a car), and I don't understand how to practice active focus with trees and stuff like that. I'm following your webstie since Feb 2020. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Weird because I could swear it is easier to use active focus at close distance rather than outdoor for me.

Depends on how blurry your eyes are to start. My vision never got that bad, at my worst I was 20/60 and once I started active focus, I just stopped using glasses and contacts completely and improved.

NIKHIL SHEDBAL i think as you are under your growth period these eye exercises help to maintain your prescription constant but you eye sight will going to improve after 18 because as the size of your eye ball is increasing and decreasing your prescription become high or low . I am also myopic

I went from -3.5 diopters in both eyes with .75 astigmatism in right and .50 in the left down to -2.0 in both and .25 astigmatism so far and it took far longer to research and know what i'm doing than actually reducing my myopia haha it's quite simply once you know what your actually doing to be honest it's just having the right visual habits
