    Gojira doesn’t have a bad album, every one is pure gold, and I was addicted to the first 2 albums, some of their best music. I’m 54 and have been listening to them from day one, and I hope they never stop making superb sounding albums.

    I've had the chance to see them live before they were famous and they left a big impression at the time not just with their music but with how they approached the concert, asking very politely for people not to smoke inside the venue (for any non smoker that has attended gigs in France in the early 2000s and earlier, indoor smoking could be a big downer on gig enjoyment). Anyway, it made a huge difference in terms of "comfort" and I was very grateful lol. Great musicians, good people, and unusual themes for a metal band, I love their positivity. The world needs more positivity.

    Gojira is unique. It’s a band that, in my opinion, all albums are brilliant. Also, their activism is impressive. ❤

    Both Victim and Possessed are classics!
    However, From Mars to Sirus is one of my favorite records ever released. It’s literally perfection and I’m thrilled that Joe is raising awareness for peace 🥹🥹

    saw this small band i'd never heard of called gojira open for children of bodom in 2005 and was mindblown by the performance and thought this band is gonna go far . fast foreward 19 years and they write history by being the first metal band to open for the olympics in front of billions of people its crazy when you think of how far they have comein so little time .

      😧 I had compared that image to the only picture of Alexandre that I could find and thought it looked just like him... I'm genuinely upset about this... Thanks for catching that! I'll link the picture so you can see what I mean.

    If youve never heard Gojira before why the hell would you start with the 3rd album, makes it sound like the first 2 arent worth a listen when they absolutely are!

    • @DidYouKnowMetal
      @DidYouKnowMetal  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +26

      Definitely didn't mean to make it sound like the first two albums aren't worth listening to. Meant it more like, "From Mars To Sirius" is a good gateway album for those who may be interested in getting into Gojira, IMO at least.

    • @CosmosesJones
      @CosmosesJones 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @DidYouKnowMetal aye I agree, i think it might be a good idea to give a quick mention what albums might be good for non metalheads vs metalheads to get into gojira like the first two albums are deffo good for people who like a good old school death groove, the next three are good for a mix of people depending on your taste and the album and the last two are certainly easier for non metalheads i think!

      True that. Since Mars to Sirius they just got more and more gentrified. In the early days they were preaching some radical ecowarrior stuff like 'I Want To Live In The Forest Forever", seems kinda ironic now that they're opening for mass mainstream events.
