Still listening too, Im nine, been listening to This for a year now. And other songs too, the heavier songs like mr.moustache and THAT type of their hits. I also listened to calm hits, lithium, all apologies and something in the way. Nirvana helped me WITH life. RIP Kurt. D Cobain.
All of Kurt Cobain's lyrics were interesting but this song always stood out to me somehow. Also the vocal notes he hits are interesting. This guy was a great writer, way better than most people/bands Nirvana gets compared to.
Diamond SoCrazy Layne Staley of Alice in Chains is better than Kurt in my own opinion, but overall I am a fan of both bands. Tagged both of em as Grunge but different style, love em both.
yeah I think lots of the originality comes from the lack of theory. He has some chords progressions (like Lithium) that are just plain weird but work wonderfully.
Used to find stuff like that all the time at the local best buy when they were a record store and kept killer bootlegs behind the counter if you asked for them.
I always tried to meditate by ocean music sounds on TH-cam, but could not, just wasted time, now I understood I can meditate, feel better, feel how my nervous system become calm, but under this music, especially this song, it can be played for hours and never boring, it is emotional and meditative music to me! Although if is paradox, heavy music, not classic...
I'll start this off without any words I got so high scratched till it bled Love myself better than you I know its wrong so what should I do The finest day that I never had was when when I learned to cry on command Love myself better than you You know it's wrong so what should I do Im on a plain, I cant complain, im on on a plain My mother died every night Its safe to say, don't quote me on that Love myself better than you, I know its wrong so what should I do The black sheep got blackmailed again Forgot to put on the zipcode Love myself better than you I know its wrong so what should I do Im on a plain, I cant complain, Im on a plain Somewhere I have heard this before In a dream my memory has stored As a defence am neutered and spayed What the hell am trying to say It is now time to make it unclear To write off lines that don't make a sense Love myself, better than you I know its wrong so what should I do And one more special message to go And then im done, and I can go home Love masel better than you I know its wrong so what can I do Im on a plain, I cant complain x2

It funny that shrieking monitor feedback during this song. If you listen to the audience recording, you cannot hear Kurt at all the first half of the song. Something went wrong with the sound there.
This is probably the best performance of this song out of all of them. The Paramount version was clearly an exhausted performance, and Dave’s mic gain was turned up to loud, making “love myself, better than you” sound very bad. The Reading version was in Eb making it sound a bit strange, and the performance as well sounded like they were tired(because they were). But this performance of this song was simply perfect. Perfect pedal settings making the guitar sound just like the recording. Cobain’s vocals sounded PERFECT compared to the recording as well. Also MTV Unplugged doesn’t count
To be fair, you've only mentioned the officially released ones. I while do I believe that this is an amazing performance, not just of this song, but overall, I find that the better ones are the ones you'd find bootlegged or filmed by one or more audience members. 25 Feb 1994, for example.
@@aneurysm1991 no worries about the late reply, lol. This is actually really well timed because the show I mentioned (25 Feb 1994) is exactly 28 years ago today, _and_ you can reuse calendars from ‘94 this year.
Your (mine as well) generation also had vanilla Ice and milli vanilli. You can’t pick 3 greats from one era and a couple people you don’t like from another and use them to compare the eras. You know better than that
@@JTD472 The point is my generation had iconic musicians who 30 years later are still relevant and important to the history of music. Please tell me who has arrived on the scene in the last 10 years that will be remembered 25 years from now ?
J2 Martnz I hate to break it to you, but there are a lot of names that aren’t going anywhere. This might make me sound like a fan of them, which I’m not (for the most part), but as over-commercialized and lacking for soul and depth as modern day music usually is, that doesn’t mean it is going anywhere. There is absolutely the talent around today, but I think what’s lacking most is a level of authenticity. Everybody today feels like (and usually) they are pushing a product instead of trying to convey a a real message or make a real sound. Anyway, a few of the names I would say are not going anywhere are like Adele, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, probably Bruno Mars, etc. Lady Gaga (yeah all super bowl acts I realize). All these people are supremely talented but I agree I’m not looking to them for their authenticity or really much substance of any kind. Maybe lady Gaga. Maybe.
I swear there's always someone yelling negative creep at every show. Wonder if it's the same guy lol. Someone also yelled scoff. So at least it's a change.
First heard it when 14... Now 41 still listening!!!
Listening forever
Wow right now i'm 14

This song is very special to me.
brilliant song and lyrics. one of my favorites

No offense but Layne didnt even write most of the songs in AIC. That was Jerry Cantrell.
@@RebelThoughts82 except the self titled... He wrote quite a bunch on that record if My memory serves me well

@@gadzmhir4024 Layne did not write that much though.
kurt´s voice is amazing so smooth and heavy at same time
Best live version of this song (other than unplugged)
The best version is mtv studio 92
Best version is 25 Feb 1994
a good one is roskilde 92 or the one in Rome in 91
Paramount version is fire
@@featheryfemme I agree with your choice.
I have this concert on cd. Found it in a used record store 15 plus years ago. It's labelled "the live spirit"
can you uploaded or send it ?

probably my favourite song off nevermind
fuck I love this
God, the band sounds amazing! Thanks for uploading!
I wish that during a live play of this he would have said “I’m Kurt Cobain” in the chorus lol
Jacob Roberts that took me a minute to understand. That would’ve been funny af
he did in the demo of on a plain
I´m Kurt Cobain, I can´t complain
Love myself better an you
The song you would like to write
Love the bass
I'll start this off without any words
I got so high scratched till it bled
Love myself better than you
I know its wrong so what should I do
The finest day that I never had was when when I learned to cry on command
Love myself better than you
You know it's wrong so what should I do
Im on a plain, I cant complain, im on on a plain
My mother died every night
Its safe to say, don't quote me on that
Love myself better than you, I know its wrong so what should I do
The black sheep got blackmailed again
Forgot to put on the zipcode
Love myself better than you
I know its wrong so what should I do
Im on a plain, I cant complain, Im on a plain
Somewhere I have heard this before
In a dream my memory has stored
As a defence am neutered and spayed
What the hell am trying to say
It is now time to make it unclear
To write off lines that don't make a sense
Love myself, better than you
I know its wrong so what should I do
And one more special message to go
And then im done, and I can go home
Love masel better than you
I know its wrong so what can I do
Im on a plain, I cant complain x2
