just a tip from software developer...it always saves time if we give speaking names to variables...like preset instead of myvar and humidity instead of h 🙂

This is why I love Arduino stuff...it's all custom with what you want to do. I like your button test board to incorporate into the larger main program.

If you were using this to control an AC or Heater, you might want to add a buffer of a few degrees +/- so the unit doesn't constantly turn on/off over a one degree change.

For extra points, implement buttons using an interrupt ;)

is there an easy way to change Arduino sketches that are written for individual wire LCD's to use a i2c lcd of the same 16X2 format?
i dont understand why so many people write code for the multi wire lcd screens and not i2c when wiring is so much simpler, i only have i2c screens and dont want to de solder the modules and want to learn how to modify existing code to use i2c if i can, im sure its just a line or two that needs to be changed and including the right library's?

How much current will that relay handle? Remember, even with a small window A/C unit, when the compressor kicks in it may draw a very high current for startup.

I am new to all this. I have 12v valence batteries with internal bms. How can I communicate with the internal bms via rs485 to arduino to property see if if it’s balanced? And what r the codes for the arduino for this to work. Do I need relays?

    Celsius! Aggggg. Let's see (23 * 1.8) + 32 = 73.4...Much better, I thought you were freezing.
    Stay safe my friend.

BBlod, I dont understand that Fahrenheit stuff. If its 0 degrees Celsius, I turn to ice. If its 100Celsius, Im boiling. Simple!

LOL. We all know water freezes at 32 degrees fahrenheit and boils at 212.

    Hello Paul,
This is a bit off topic but I have no one else to ask about this. I am an engineering student and I would like to buy the ARRL Handbook for radio communications. Does it matter if I buy the older 2009 version from ebay ? I dont want to read the ebook and the new one is very costly for me since I'm on a tight budget right now (including shipping to germany). Could you please tell me if getting an older version (2009) of the ARRL is worth it ? (68 USD with free shipping)
    Thanks, Aneesh.

Buy the older one by all means. Electronics is physics and it hasn't changed in the last few years.
The new books every year are nothing more than marketing, in my opinion.

Cool, now if you're bored add a MOSFET instead of the relay and a PID Controler in the software. :) Stay Safe!
