I am delighted to see this play again after so many years! I do remember, though, that Miss Carroll (may she rest in peace!) also did a program about how she came to do this play--a "behind the scenes" program, I think they call it these days! How I wish that someone could post that video as well!
Great actress of much talent. Like Lugosi she became immortalized for playing an iconic villain. I know how much she respected this role & Ursula. Both bigger than life characters.
Pat's hearty laugh is contagious and delicious. What an incomparable artist she was. I met and interviewed her while she was performing in the musical "Nunsense". She was so warm and down to earth and as generous as she was a true star.
I've looked for decades for this, and only have it on vinyl. Thank you so much for taking the time to upload the whole video.....if you have a source, please PM me and let me know! I am very much in your debt as it is.
I wonder if Gertrude was really like this. Was she happy or sad? Was she thinking she was funny? Did she have real friends? Was she just tolerated? Did the artists come only for food and drink? Was Alice treated as a maid? This was a real treat!!!!! Please add Part Two.
Pat doesn’t look and act lesbian enough! No doubt some of you will disagree and ask ‘what does it look like to be lesbian’? 🙂 In those days they looked more masculine!
oh my! Thank you....I saw this so many years ago--incredible. So good to see it again. She was tremendous in this....

R.I.P Patt Carroll you were wonderful!
I've been looking for this for years. Thank you very, very much for posting. It's an amazing treat to finally get to see it performed.

I saw this in the '80s on A&E when it was arts and entertainment. This is greatness!
Thank You
I’ve been searching for more than a decade to see this again.
Thank you for posting this!
She just does not get enough recognition as an actress. I love Ursula, but Pat really was so much more than that.
Thanks so much for posting this! Do you have any other full length plays?

This is the only part, if I am correct. It was a 2 hour broadcast.

It’s all about Pat, and not Stein
