I think, "det A" calculation is wrong. The rule is +,-,+. So the answer is -7-2+8=-1. Am I right? Thanks.

yes, that's the rule...but if you look at it again, the number at the top right of the column is -1 so it became +(-1) which is still -1 so the + did not reflect...i don't know if you understand
