I have really fond memories of my time in this speedrun community and I am glad to see how far the run has come since I left it. I hope everyone I met along the way is doing well. This was an incredible and insightful retelling of the story, great video mate.
Honestly this is just incredible. The initial humor about Star Wars games that failed and jumping right into the informed, educated, well-thought commentary, and the suave video editing skills. This is truly a professional video, which is absolutely delightful, even for non speed runners. And that’s before getting to the meat and potatoes. What an undertaking, to find and collect so many clips, and then sort them in historical significance, all the while weaving in shoutouts to fellow Jedi. Truly inspirational content across the board. I learned a lot and smiled throughout. Thanks for making this gift and sharing it with us! 🥂
I wanna movie with jedi glitching and clipping through walls - all this to avoid stupid plot and make fans happy :) PS: I'm not saying here, that the plot in this game was stupid, I only hate recent movies :)
Finally got enough time to sit down and watch this and holy crap, this is awesome! So much history for this game already and this did an amazing job of recounting it
I really love how you formatted this video, not only was it super entertaining but I love how officially documented it is, and it makes every new technique discovered feel like a really big event, it’s really cool. Great video, cant wait to see what Survivor will bring to the speedrunning world
Glad I clicked on this. I thought this is either literally a speed run or a documentary about a speed run. Hoped for the latter and wasn’t disappointed.
Great video binks! really took me down a nostalgia trip through some of my favorite obsolete tricks of the past. absolutely love that we have a video like this about our game, keep it up!
I love this game but only have a passing knowledge of speedrunning, and I was enthralled for this entire video. This is a fantastic presentation of speedrunning and how new discoveries are made and optimised. Shout out to the runners discovering all these crazy glitches!
Awesome video Binks :) Jedi fallen order is one of my fave games and bering introduced to the speedrunning community dedicated to this game is very appreciated. Hope to see everyone reunited for jedi survivor!
Great video, I think most of the tricks and glitches are well told and shown. That Ps5 "trick" was really surprising and good icing on the cake in my opinion for the end of the video. Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed the video very much, it's nice that you show a graphic of the intended route in the beginning. That clarifies if for people not so familiar with the game (like me). During the video, when major skips were discovered, I thought, that it would be nice to show an updated graphic (showing what was skipped), to show the impact of the skips, because it wasn't always clear for me, just from listening to the text. Thanks for the video and keep it up.
I remember watching a GDQ waiting for another game to be played, then suddenly saw Fallen Order on the queue of games. The game was relatively new by then. Decide it to watch the first few minutes… only to watch the entire run! All the “flying” and couch commentary of Star Wars fun was great! If I remember right some developers were actually in chat praising the run! Can’t wait for Jedi Survivor. This game was simply GREAT! Gotta love Souls-likes.
All i find to that is: Republic Commando (Vode an). Thank you so very much for pointing this out. Shazam wasnt a help, it sounded so strongly familiar but it wasn`t listed in the video description. No music was.
While during this fast forward glitch happened in fallen order, it happened at battle front 2 as well. I only know this because during final section a Jakoo at imperial star destroyer. The character was fast forward similar to this glitch in this vid 57:02, I only saw my brother replicated in a different game and it’s also works on console as well in the Xbox as well. This was only in Iden’s story the first part of it. Sadly I have no footage but there was something it can be replicated on the Xbox in a different game.
This video absolutely kicks ass; this game's speed scene is absolutely insane, and breaking it down like this is so cool to see! Side note, I keep mishearing Pnash as Fnaf, and the concept of "Fnaf Skip" exists to me, now
I fucking LOVE Star Wars and I fucking LOVE this video. Thanks for the content man well done. Even though you did dunk on my favorite MMO, it was a well deserved dunk.
That trick shot in the tomb with the ball to burn the vines on the chain is what I thought you are supposed to do when playing through the game normally I have always done that even on my first time playing the game
i think one of my favorite things about this vid is noticing the different cosmetic mods runners are using. i lol'd when i saw cal with an inexplicable buzzcut
That's an interesting idea, but the nature of the other categories makes them much less ideal for videos like that. New discoveries will impact them much less, if at all, since 100% still has to go basically everywhere and All Bosses still has to kill all the bosses.
@@binksmagnus This video helped me a lot understanding the strats of the any% category, so it would be interesting for me to even see small changes in the other categories and also understand them. But in the end it's just my opinion
I wanna remind everyone how insanely broken the infinite jump glitch was. i got the game around the update, never played it before and had even kept myself spoiler free until I had a PC that could run the game. I RANDOMLY discovered the glitch on my first ever playthrough around halfway in. THATS HOW BROKEN THE GLITCH IS. It's not some specialised speed tech people who spend ages trying to uncover and use to beat the game. It's as simple as attempting to throw an enemy whilst jumping you'd reset your double jump. And you could do this as long as you didn't use up your energy.
You jabbed at the MMO, but as a poor college kid SWTOR was my main game. I had the time, not the money. And all of that cool cosmetic stuff could be traded for in game currency which I could grind for with my time. That felt better than Battlefront I to me.
wtf, i had no idea tactics used to speedrun this game! i watch him all the time speedrunning wow classic :D i suppose i started following him right after he stopped running this game, when wow classic came out
If you can remember how it happened or have video then we’d love to talk to you about it. The JFO Speedrunning Discord can be found here discord.gg/ES8HRHbD
Great video, but is no one going to talk about how when Vader grabs Kals lightsaber and flicks it away he definitely swiped it right through his own neck?
The initial criticism of the SWTOR MTX needs context. If you didn't subscribe, you paid for MTX with money. If you did subscribe you got free coins for lootboxes often, of which, one item could potentially fund 2 more. It's the only free to play game I would say gave you more than your money's worth. And if you didn't sub for a year, then came back, they gave you all the coins you would have earned. Combined with buying a bunch of lootboxes when you take a break you end up coming back to more money than you ever need in game. Not to mention the best MTX in the game was all found. I wore the same Sith cloak from lvl20 to end game and for years beyond. It was truly a worth it game.
Love the game and I’m super excited for the next one in March. I just hope as a small side bonus, there’s a multi player mode. Like a 1v1 duel with all skills unlocked. Would be cool to if there was a ranking and u could see the best duelist in the world yk.
I did not skipped the story recap because I wanted to remember everything I did on this game. I love this game, but it kind feels slow even for a metroidvania, some maps are annoying to back track even with upgrades and unlocked paths
Dude, I'm sure you did this intentionally, but still I have to comment on it. Using the KOTOR soundtracks was a brilliant move! It made the whole video a lot more enjoyable!
Great video It's amazing to think that games are still being released that are as broken (and then further broken apparently haha!) as games from 20 years ago
Me who was lost in zeffo for 2-3 hours
Me who was stuck on Illum for a year
Man zeffo is so confusing it’s a pain
Dude Zeffo gave me PTSD I don't even know how I beat that level tbh.
I gave up on the game for like 2 years because of how trash zepho is
@@salamander8567 I’m replaying the game and I’ve got to say it’s easier now but still fucking annoying

Thanks a lot! Watching your runs is a big part of what got me into speedrunning this game in the first place.
yooo Espo!
Hope you're doing well man!
Hey espo I hope you’re doing well it’s crazy that its been 3 years since I was watching your livestream speed runs every day😢
I loved hanging out in your chat, those early runs were really a great time

Merrin: "Where is that Kestis boy?!"
Malikos: "I don't... I don't think he's coming back...."
Finally got enough time to sit down and watch this and holy crap, this is awesome! So much history for this game already and this did an amazing job of recounting it
dude, the effort that must've gone into researching all of this stuff is insane. great video, you deserve many more subs.
Awesome video Binks! I actually learned a lot about the older run strats and routes. Super cool!
I really love how you formatted this video, not only was it super entertaining but I love how officially documented it is, and it makes every new technique discovered feel like a really big event, it’s really cool. Great video, cant wait to see what Survivor will bring to the speedrunning world

I love it when a video looking at the speed running journey of a game is longer than the WR

amazing video! also loved seeing every runner's lightsaber color choices haha
Really well put together video, it sure has been a wild ride seeing this run develop over the last few years.
Amazing explanation/summary of the history and what makes the run! Great video
Great job on covering everything thoroughly and explaining it well, definitely worth the watch
Excellently made video! Found on Reddit and decided to check it out and was not dissapointed.

Wow very good job bro keep it up. You seem super underrated, I'm glad i got this recommended. You just earned a sub!
Awesome video dude!

this video was of great help curing my inst gag reflex when ever i'd previously heard the abbreviation "tlj" so thank you for that.
Found that speedy cutscene glitch a few months ago, didn’t bother looking for an explanation, good to know!
This is such a good video I wasn’t expecting such a small channel, Definitely subbing
Thanks for the sub!
14:00 love that you included the republic commando soundtrack
All i find to that is: Republic Commando (Vode an). Thank you so very much for pointing this out. Shazam wasnt a help, it sounded so strongly familiar but it wasn`t listed in the video description. No music was.
Wow, I didnt know there has been a dedicated speedrun community for this game.. Impressive to see
I swear last time I looked at a speedrun of this game it was like 2:50 or smth.
Maddening progress.
As much as I love this game and the fact I’m not even a Star Wars fan, hearing palp talk when trying to open the door 66 times was mental
What?! I honestly thought a sub hour was impossible for fallen order. Underrated video!
What a fun game this way, Looking forward to the next !
"So cal? How long it takes you to find the holocron, and beat the Inqusition? A year? A month?" Cal: "mhh a hour." 😂😂
I wouldn't like watching or even doing speedruns using glitches, but watching a good video about how those runs evolved is quite entertaining :)
While during this fast forward glitch happened in fallen order, it happened at battle front 2 as well. I only know this because during final section a Jakoo at imperial star destroyer. liked the format dude, would watch other speedrun breakdowns!
This was such a good video so much effort would’ve gone into this
That split saber cave skip is absolutely insane

Side note, I keep mishearing Pnash as Fnaf, and the concept of "Fnaf Skip" exists to me, now
“Airwalking” is a real big missed opportunity for a Skywalker joke
35:36 really fitting music for what's happening on screen

That trick shot in the tomb with the ball to burn the vines on the chain is what I thought you are supposed to do when playing through the game normally I have always done that even on my first time playing the game
Started off Jedi: Fallen Order, turned into Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and ended up as Running in the 90s. What a wild path for a game to take
Well this sounds familiar! Can't wait to watch! haha
This is my favorite video
Love games that still holds while being broken down and just show whats behind the curtain more and more
Like bracca in dathomir
i think one of my favorite things about this vid is noticing the different cosmetic mods runners are using. i lol'd when i saw cal with an inexplicable buzzcut
Interesting Video
I have got an idea: You could do a monthly or annual record series where you break down the new records from different categories
That's an interesting idea, but the nature of the other categories makes them much less ideal for videos like that. New discoveries will impact them much less, if at all, since 100% still has to go basically everywhere and All Bosses still has to kill all the bosses.

Now we need Jedi Survivor speedrun history/showcase.
Kotor music brought me back to a young me immersed in one of the best RPG games I've ever played
With one of the best soundtracks 👍
7:07 Now suddenly people appreciate TLJ
Video showed up in my feed. You've been blessed by the TH-cam gods
That jump glitch was so easy and accessible that even I employed it a couple of times to 100% the game.
Artist who poured the blood sweat and tears into game: Hey watch my cutscene
Speedrunner: absolutely fucking not
How this guy have only 33 subs W vid!!!
Right?
Insane vid ty for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks to this video I never want to see the final fight scene of JFO again.

Oh man, the ost from kotor 2, the chills in my spine
Nice video man! You really deserve more views on this!
wtf, i had no idea tactics used to speedrun this game! i watch him all the time speedrunning wow classic :D i suppose i started following him right after he stopped running this game, when wow classic came out
Idk if he did more than this one run, but yeah he has the oldest run on the leaderboards with video footage 😂I also know him for Classic
This needs more views
Great video bro definitely deserve more views
This video is awesome! You deserve way more subs.
I will never understand how people find and figure out all the exploits, it's honestly a superpower
I remember watching Alexesposito speed running Fallen Order! Good times lol
Summoning salt would be proud. Great video
That was me on Reddit. Glad my random goof could help out the Speedrun community
Legend
Wait I actually remember seeing that sped up cutscene glitch when i was playing on my Xbox series x
If you can remember how it happened or have video then we’d love to talk to you about it. The JFO Speedrunning Discord can be found here discord.gg/ES8HRHbD
On one hand, I hate how they the avoid playing how the developers and director intended, on the other hand, I'm amazed at what they can do
For someone with under a 1000 subs, this was a pretty good video. I recommend not leaving in footage that is uncommented
The only speed technique I ever used was a jump skip to skip the entire swap/forages section of dathmoir, mainly because I hated that area
glitching around these extremely pretty and realistically rendered games is especially funny to me.
Bro I had no idea this game was so broken 😂. Played it through one time and took me like 3 weeks, this guy does it in an hour
Great video, but is no one going to talk about how when Vader grabs Kals lightsaber and flicks it away he definitely swiped it right through his own neck?

I didn't know that was a speed run tactic, I thought it was just what the player was supposed to do.
The Fact that the day that changed the speedrun for this game was may the 4th or star wars day^^
I love the accordion star wars tune lol
Great video mate
All these "exploits" are canon. They're able to do this because of the Force.
Nice to know my fav game of all time has broken glitches that make insane speedruns 😂👍🏻
Love the game and I’m super excited for the next one in March. I just hope as a small side bonus, there’s a multi player mode. Like a 1v1 duel with all skills unlocked. Would be cool to if there was a ranking and u could see the best duelist in the world yk.
I’m so glad that they kept all the little glitches that allows you to break the game like this. Not really something you’d expect out of EA lol
algorithm blessed ME today. ty
Man these speedruns would be nearly impossible on base PS4. The loading times are insane
1:02:53 missed opportunity to call it skywalk
Wdym not so great, “Im Han Solo” is fucking legendary
Great video. I really hope they make the map better for the next game, it was annoying. Got some time to get used to and it’s awful to use on Zeffo
When the title of the video implies that I could just watch the original video of the WR speed run in less time than it would take to watch yours lol
I did not skipped the story recap because I wanted to remember everything I did on this game. I love this game, but it kind feels slow even for a metroidvania, some maps are annoying to back track even with upgrades and unlocked paths
21:08 I'll be honest, I've always done that with no idea that it was a strat... lmao
love the term "financially predatory"

Dude, I'm sure you did this intentionally, but still I have to comment on it. Using the KOTOR soundtracks was a brilliant move! It made the whole video a lot more enjoyable!
It was intentional! I love KotOR and that music is incredible. A couple of the longer videos I'm brainstorming are KotOR related.
