As the resident keyboard nerd in my friends group (I'm the only one who's built a custom keyboard amongst them so far), it's been amazing to see your transparency and customer service. I am already recommending your keyboards to my friends whenever they have the budget for it. As for me, I will definitely be making a purchase of your keyboards, not just because of the quality that I've seen and heard of, but also because your brand seems to take pride in taking that extra step to take care of your fans. Kudos to the Wooting team.
Something for you guys to be aware of: your playlist for "How the Wooting HE is made" is out of order. Make sure you change the sorting to "Date published (oldest)". That'll make sure that the videos appear in order of first publication
Thank you Wooting for this insight into the production process! I'm honestly quite surprised by how laborious the process is for the Zinc alloy case in comparison to a polymer-based case.
uhhh u might wanna watch what rhey r actuallly doing, one they r most likely getting payed more than other sweatshops, and 2 all they really do is check to see if it was made correctly by robots.
@@Dirty_Hoboyeye dude just stfu, you think we fall for your anti east propaganda created by cnn and bbc? Ppl in China dont have to get loans for everything despite 2 working in the family. Lets talk about US, UK and Sweden now where 2 work and go around.
I love how you guys know that as a Zinc Alloy owner to be, the packaging is more of a spoiler than seeing the actual keyboarding itself. I stopped the video right there, thank you haha!
Another W update! Can't wait to get my 80he. I was curious tho, do you guys have any plans to add a discreet volume wheel to the side or top, or maybe even somehow turn the LED bar into a volume control? Would love to see something like this in the future!
How hot is it in that factory? Calder sweaty like a hes running a marathon i love these videos very interesting to see how stuff is made can't wait for my 80HE
Hey Wooting, being as you would actually know the answer... Does 8KHz continuously communicate with the PC at that frequency, or does it only communicate on key press? So basically, would the CPU be taxed by this high polling rate even when the keyboard isn't being used? I've never been able to get an answer to this. People always say contradicting things.
It only communicates when a key press happens, it does not send any information if that state of key presses has not changed. So ye, the CPU barely has anything to do
It runs 8Khz on the keyboard scanning keys, it also runs 8Khz polling USB. The toll it takes on your PC is different from the mouse, because the amount of data that is communicated is far less (frequent). It only needs to update a state of change, if no change is there, nothing happens. While with a mouse it continuously communicates X/Y coordinate changes without stop. And if you do notice a toll on your CPU, you can always lower down to 4k or 1k USB polling in the Wootility. The keyboard can remain running 8k scanning.
The "dust cover" is not needed, since the travel case keeps the keyboard safe. It is not a dust cover - it is a protective plastic cover to keep the keyboard safe during shipping of the keyboard.
nah id like to see same stuff but for finalmouse, that would be fucking hilarious. smth like: here you can see no one is working on anything yet so expect another delay, see you in the next part!
Are the new wootings going to be pre lubed? Or you need to lube them yourself im curious you have a the typing sound on your website im want to know if you made it lubed for the sound
The 80HE will come pre-lubed. The sound test on the website was a DVT sample, where the switches were factory lubed and the stabilizers were hand-lubed as our early samples didn't have pre-lubed stabs. Will do a sound test soon of the PVT samples which are pretty final.
How many zinc alloy Case are Made per day? For some reason i can See why These Keyboards are so expensive. I would recommend selling Keyboards with scratches in the Case as b class goods. I wouldn't mind scratches if i pay less for Same warranty 👍
As the first commenter, can I have a discount? Its so beautiful Edit: i take it back. The money is well deserved. My broke ass will just get the plastic one
Add in next video how workers get better protection when polishing, cuz those dust particles are so small, easy go to lungs. Better protected workers , better to the end customer is to. ???
Good point. This factory is a sub-contractor to our main manufacturing partner. This main parter is a publicly noted company, requiring extensive vendor vetting for, among other things, ISO certified and ruling out any (child) labor abuse. There are still bars that are not set high enough (in law) in China, that can make the range of factory quality from dogpoop to high class. I (Calder) can attest to this, having visited a range of different types of factories. We used to be in a position where voicing these concerns would land in a bucket of nothing, as we were a small customer and from what you see here, this is nothing out of the ordinary, and even better than average. Now we have a larger platform where we can make impactful change. I am going to see what I can do to make an impact here and hopefully also show this is subsequent updates.
I like this Keyboard, until i saw how its being made in all the dirty old ass factories with some poor Chinese workers , nothing premium or special about that. I would feel wrong and ashamed using it. Why cant you make them in some nicer environment, with people in suits and stuff with good paychecks not these poor people in some old factories.
I've been to various factories in Germany. It may be a little cleaner, but not per se different. Factories have to be functional and safe. Nothing more About the workers, yes, The pay in China is different and not always fair. Still, if the workers are treated well, they are happy to work there and earn their living. With how the world works, paying workers in (for us) cheaper countries is the only way that products can be produced in an affordable manner. You would not be able to afford most things in your life, if you had to pay the prices that products would cost if all the work were done regionally.

This video taught me, They need more people at this "factory"...
had no clue so much work goes into making keyboards. now I want a zinc alloy case to support the labor. sheesh
great video, proud owner of this beauty
I'M SO EXCITED TO GET MINE. THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT COMPANY WOOTING!
Man I wish all companies had communication with their clients like that
I just ordered today one with white zinc case. Can't wait for it
thank you for sharing all this process with us, it motivates to wait for my 80he zinc alloy!)
I wish that those workers get payed the amount of what their work is worth... hard working people... especially knowing the demand of the keyboard
You know that ain’t happening 😅

Yeah they are getting paid the Chinese minimum wage :) and thats why the keyboard is 220 and not 500 dollars.

I was looking forward to the raw case as that's the one I ordered. I hope you guys show something about the raw process in the next video.
Only process it further has is the UV coating process, which we don't have footage for unfortunately.

Is it possible to purchase the Zinc case separately? I preordered with the translucent case, but Im starting to love how it looks in the zinc

Why do you guys dont sell a pre assembled white keyboard with a white plastic case? it would be great!!
if i bought a module will i just get all the parts and i have to put them all together?
The SpongeBob walking sound at the beginning is hilarious😂
What has the nicest paint? White or black?
I'd work there.
Any ETA for SOCD integration into the live build?
Do you include the plastic dust cover with the zinc alloy case? I ordered a Black Zinc Alloy 80HE pre assembled.
The "dust cover" is not needed, since the travel case keeps the keyboard safe. It is not a dust cover - it is a protective plastic cover to keep the keyboard safe during shipping of the keyboard.
Release when?
Depends on when you ordered it, but late october into november for founders
Do you think it's worth it to get the zinc alloy for almost double the price?

such hard workers, this just wouldn't function in the US or UK, they wouldn't finish their bit before the conveyer belt moves it along due to talking
