This right here is what I need on a very early Friday morning as I head out to my 8 to 9 while thinking about my exit plan. The goal is to figure out a unique strategy, get better in my niche and grow bit by bit. Thank you for all these tips.
Stumbled across your channel a couple of months ago and have been noting down all your tips re: channel growth. In December 2023, my channel had 500 subs, at which time I made a conscious switch to change my approach and try to provide more high value educational content in my photography niche. Now I am closing in on 10,000 subs. Appreciate all your advice ✊
@@RobertoBlake sharing information relevant for education channels. here are just a few of the notes that I took: - Create high effort content that is hard to replicate - Create social proof - Education content: Very good hook at beginning of video, make sure promise is delivered, people can easily understand, keep delivering value, bring up things that they haven’t heard before or expect - Education channels fall when they clickbait and stop serving the audience. Don’t serve the algorithm. Don’t be disingenuous - Create high value content 2 - 3 videos a week Have hundreds of evergreen videos
I'm not necessarily new, but I have lot's to learn on TH-cam still. I love the idea of writing down 'impossible ideas'--I think that's where I'm missing the mark. You just made me realize another reason why biggest video so far performed so well--I leveraged experiences very few creators had or could replicate (actually working with Pinterest as a creator) to back up my points. Time to look more into my unfair advantages and **actually** use them 😂
‘Quality doesn’t decide video views, packaging does’ that was the best line in this whole video, I felt that for real, Roberto keep dropping these gems man, you’ve really helped me up my content creation game, I’ve gone from 200 subs to 420 in 2 weeks 🙌🏾🙌🏾👊🏾🔥
This is the kind of comment and results that makes me keep going and put out this content and this message. You don’t need to go viral for your content to be doing well. The fact a small changed doubled your results is incredible and you should be proud!
I think the hard part is getting a clear example of what is value. Value keeps being the current buzz word that is very vague and not specific. How do you know you are delivering on value quickly? When we do a will it start video showing it start too soon causes audience to leave.
@RobertoBlake yeah I wrote a ton of notes for this section. I am a little hard of understanding, so I am hoping my partner I do youtube with gets it. I appreciate the content thought for sure. Thank you
I really appreciate how you ask questions to get one to think about what they want. Cuz it’s easy to look at the bigger TH-camrs and want what they have, but not everyone has those experiences. There’s a lot of space in TH-cam if you make the effort like you mentioned. There’s an interview on Digital Spaghetti with Gawx that is a great example of what results from high effort
Always great advice. Thanks, Roberto, for sharing your knowledge and wisdom for Novist like me to gain an understanding to become better at creating content for my community. We appreciate you.
Honestly Roberto, this is some of the best advice I have heard regarding matching passion with competence to an extent that others can't easily match. It's making me completely rethink my channel strategy and what I, uniquely can bring, yet still take an interest in. I've been following you for years, first time commenting, and I so love your work and support for creators. Angela
3:14 I, and I am sure many others would as well, love for you to make tech videos again. 📱 You could easily tie this into your educational theme by telling creators how to use them for channel growth and stuff. 💡 11:00 Very true and real about that, and I am glad that you do not strictly make what people want to watch, or they really would never learn all what they need to know. 👏🏾 Throughout this video there were 2 words that were repeatedly used: High Value. 💎
This is great advice! Each video I make, I try to improve one thing in terms of video/audio/editing, but my focus is trying to effectively get my ideas across for learning and motivation. The long form content takes a lot of work, but even on videos with low views, the responses from those of helps makes me feel like the work I'm putting in and slowly improving is worth it. I think the biggest challenge for me is finding time to make more than 2 videos per month due to family, work, and then my self-learning (self-learning is what I use on the channel). Family and work will always come first... I'll just need to get better at how I make the videos. I'm still new to this, but really really enjoy it.
@@RobertoBlake The most important information you taught me was to build an email list. Now I'm using a Faceless TH-cam channel to collect leads. Thank you.
Xactly!! If we educators give ppl just what they want, they won't grow! Blending WANTS & NEEDS is a tightrope walk ;) Q: @RobertoBlake By "quality", do you mean quality of editing, video shooting, and resolution? Or do you mean quality of content? (what we teach)
One of a struggles of having an educational channel is watching other channel getting way more views by sharing misinformation. For example, as a psychologist I promote real psychology based on research but I see plenty of popular channels just posting "psychology facts" that are just false...
To fair the hitman series took off because of MR beast video. TH-cam recommended the hit man series because the videos were similar The creator didn’t intend to train high jack traffic, but it was an unintentional accident that made him take off
Brilliant opening !!! We just show our pet Guinea Pigs on TH-cam - they are the Stars ! Gradual improvement on how we present the footage. Minimal editing as well. We kind of think that anyone who wants pets, but doesn't have the time/money/space - might just be happy to watch a relaxing and informative Channel......like ours (is the plan). It's a real niche what we do. Would be fascinated to know your thoughts on Pet/Animal Channels - we do our channel with enthusiasm, it's not a business. Thank you Roberto - and yes, I have your book. It's really good indeed and full of excellent advice.
At some point I might just do a stream where I cover the -15 TH-cam categories and how to succeed in each of them. For an animal/pet channel I would focus nearly all my energy into the idea/topic and into adorable thumbnails and I would research what has 100K likes on Instagram and start borrowing aesthetic choices from that. I would also be posting daily TH-cam shorts when it comes to pets/animals. I would be thinking it out and batch recording a lot of that. I would also be making compilations.
@@RobertoBlake that would be great 👍 we have 5 years worth of effectively ’Shorts’ - so that’s been a huge help to attract numbers - but ultimately you’ve got to create long-form content for the hours 👌 Would be fascinated by your 15 category opinion & thoughts 👏👏 can’t wait for that. Thank you. Your additional points are awesome 👍👍 I’m screenshoting that onto my phone 🥳 (we have an almost 6 million viewed Reel on instagram 👌 bit like the spaghetti scene in ‘Lady and the Tramp’ - that’s amazing…..it’s mother and daughter though!!) I do post up 6 Shorts a day - we have plenty of quick content over the past 5 years - pulls in approx 10-15 Subscribers a day & I answer every Comment. Thank you for your time - you are awesome 🤩
Thanks Roberto...I want to do animation but I keep thinking negatively about whether youtube will stay as this money tree hub for us to try and feast on, it is us technically creating a business on top of a business so there is a dependence factor or am I overthinking this? Anyone feel free to slap me with some logic
Hello there how’s it going? I don’t even have a play button yet because I’m not close to the number to have in my first one yet and I really don’t know how to do thumbnails or like I got other people do I’m still like a new TH-cam person on here Only have about 2000 right now and I don’t have those cool camera or computers or anything like that that other people know how to do videos with and I really don’t have anyone to help me do my videos and I have a lot of different sort of content on here because I try to do a little bit of everything on here but yeah, I feel like I’ve been trying to gain more followers to scribers on here though
