So my niche, cruise travel is getting me anywhere around a $20.00 CPM. Not bad. I was very surprised when I became monetized and now looking at additional revenue streams for my small channel that growing by about 150 subs per week. I'm also building a plan to go from 1600 views per day to 16000 views per day to really push this thing.

So happy you made this video. Just bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. In addition to fishing, canoeing and camping, I can easily add overlanding and 4x4 to the mix. Had no idea that I "stumbled" on to of the two most profitable niches on TH-cam: automotive and outdoors. Just the aftermarket upgrade for most any off-road vehicle is a niche in and of itself. It really does blend lifestyle, education and entertainment.

Some really great ideas here. There's so much tech, gear, and camera equipment most youtubers have just lying around that could easily be turned into tech reviews with affiliate links.
Not surprised that gaming was not in this top 8 at all. Even with it being saturated, the moment you mentioned a market of folks who spend money vs are broke. I knew they were gonna be out. Too many niches I’m faking are actively against supporting monetarily.

Right now I’m in gaming and have been learning a lot, it’s been great as a first channel, but I’d like to expand into something else like content creation tips for other gaming TH-camrs such as better thumbnails and titles, or art and art tutorials, or a reaction channel.
he says not do start multiple channels unless you've reached 100k subs on your main channel. At that point you'd be able to hire helpers to reduce the workload

Geographical location of your audience also effects overall CPM. Tech videos tend to attract lot of audience from India and English speaking Asian countries, but unfortunately the CPM from these countries is literally pennies on a dollar. All this is based on my personal experience running a tech channel with around 31K subs.
I made a different video addressing what gives a higher CPM rate. It depends on what tech you cover. If it’s everyday consumer electronics or if you do giveaways, yes you will get a lot of lower CPM views

Great video. Hit home because it IS a struggle trying to get a routine with kids, wife, family, and a very active day job with a lot of responsibility. Unfortunately my niche is time consuming(drawing/digital painting with low CPM). I will concur that Automotive niche does have some benefits and I am trying to explore it more. Very curious about finance because I agree..the CPM rates are nuts! I am following another young lady in UK name Nischa, and she ONLY started a little over a year ago. She went viral after 10 months of posting and she is now close to 500k subs. 500K subs with ONLY 40 videos in a crowded niche like finance. That's crazy! She has done the impossible I think.

I started with just whatever I had and sometimes would borrow from friends then I traded a camera rental site some articles and permission to use my videos in their blogs in exchange for borrowing gear for a week. When I made money I bought and rented gear.
It depends if you’re a sprinter in mentality or a marathon runner. Some people want validation from immediate upfront views but trend jacking leads to inconsistent, hit more miss videos and can make small TH-camrs chase that viral moment forever. Meanwhile evergreen content is simpler to make and builds consistent habits and you can go at your own pace.

I wish there was a tool that could help you calculate CPM based on demographics. I haven’t hit monitzation yet, so I have no idea what my CPM will be. I’ve looked, but there is no tool where you can put in the percentages of people in different age ranges, genders, and regions, and it will estimate your CPM based on that.

My niche, the notary niche, is getting the CPM’s up to $60 as well. I’ve been doing will in this niche for a few years i’m now looking to diversify.

It’s got more variety than you may think.
