I know exactly what you mean! I have several Springfield's and a couple of Colt's that I've owned for over 20 years. After I bought my Les Baer UTC, I don't even want to shoot the others anymore. They're like kids toys now! And by the way, I've concealed carried a full size 1911 for years, and I live in Texas where it is pretty damn hot most of the year. Once you find a good way to conceal it that works for you, don't worry about the weight. You get used to it real fast. Thanks for the video and take care.
O2shooter, I don't own a Bear but I've shot plenty with a Wilson, Bear, Nighthawk, and Dan Wesson that my good friends own. Have to disagree when you mention Springfields are like toys and aren't close in comparison. I have a trp, and a new range officer elite, both are fantastic guns at half the cost. Yeah the slide to frame isn't completely hand fitted but the upper tier Springers will give the custom makers a run for the money. At least hold their own.
I hope you still have your UTC! I also own almost 20 1911 pistols, and my Excellent Dan Wesson’s are not as enjoyable as my Les Baers. As far as Springfield, Kimbers, Sigs, Smiths and even Colts..... they just are not even close if a person is completely honest with themselves. I have a MS Summer Special too. It's for a Colt Commander. During summer I typically wear a tshirt under a lightweight short sleeve. The tshirt helps a lot.. preventing skin contact
Get this added to your permit, you wont regret it. Full size 1911's are no big deal to carry. For me, 1911s exude confidence due to their accuracy and ease of operation and ergonomics. Just make sure you have a good belt and a good holster (looks like you already do) and you will be fine. The single stack helps with concealment, it is just the weight you will have to get used to. Once you do you probably won't look back. I haven't.
