I made this as somewhat of a tribute to Jeff Buckley. He's a massive inspiration and wanted to give it a go.

Yes. He expressed some of the anguish in the song. This is not a happy song, but a desperately beautiful and vulnerable one.

With how he's just sitting out on a curb playing this song, I can't help but wonder if there was anybody off in the distance who heard him and just had to stop whatever they were doing to listen to this beautiful performance.
excellent. I think this is the gold standard for Jeff Buckley covers. Capturing the emotion without being an exact replica of the original, but instead succesfully adding your soul into the work. 10/10

That poor little alley...it's alley friends will never believe it, and after years of listening to plastic bags twisting in the wind and screeching car tires in the distance, it would be hard to go on after hearing a heartbroken angel's voice reverberating off the alley walls on its way back to heaven, and knowing it'll never happen again.

To anyone who comes across this comment, there's no such thing as "topping" another musician. There's only different renditions and vocal types, nothing about being "better" or "worse". I know it may be a difficult concept to fully assimilate, but this is at least what I believe to be most correct. Just enjoy music people, without doing comparisons ;)

What I love about your cover is that it's not a carbon copy at all while keeping the emotion and intentions behind it. It's a fun song to sing and a sad and rough one to sing as well. Usually sing it when I'm sad, everyone's got a different meaning with a song and this song is my kind of song to say how lonely I really am. Great cover by the way! I want an acoustic so I can cover it.

This is beautiful, man! This is my fav song ever, I was afraid to even hear the cover, but you did the great job, and what's more important you didn't imitate his voice you did it with your own and it makes it more realistic.

Hey man. I think I've already commented on this video a year or two ago, when I first heard it - and I'm back haha. It sounds just as good the 100th time. None of the shine has worn off, and it is just as powerful and evocative. I hesitate to use the word "perfect" - but honestly this is as close as can be.
I really can't overstate how tremendous this performance is. It's faithful without being a carbon copy, but it still has the spirit and feel that Jeff's music has. There is just something VERY special happening here.

In like the span of a week, I just discovered Jeff Buckley, found out about his death, and now that we have the same birthday. Ik it’s only a parasocial relationship but I feel very emotionally drained. But I think I have a new birthday tradition now. Thank you, this is genuinely the best cover I’ve ever seen.
