I've been The Sweet Potato Casserole guy for 25 years in my family using a pecan crust nothing else. Marshmallow and or rasins may be for people of the Yankee persuasion but not for us. Every year they say it taste better than the year before. Using real butter, brown eggs, real vanilla, A little sweetened condensed milk, sugar and a dash of salt my secret seasoning
I have a BFF from Mississippi and she has been baking the sweet potato casserole for over 30 years with the pecan topping and everything. At our gathering it has always been a hit and highly requested. She's almost 80 years old now so this recipe has been around a long time apparently. I will make this casserole next weekend for a special event. Than you for sharing. 🤗
This is my first time making this sweet potato recipe. Honestly, I usually avoid sweet potato anything bc they’re always too sweet. This recipe is my absolute favorite and will make no other in the future. Thank you!!!!
I agree with you💯on the sweet potato sweetness. I much prefer savory flavors, but I made this again this year for Thanksgiving and it was my favorite side dish!!
This is the recipe I'm going to use for my Thanksgiving because I eat at Chris Ruth in Jacksonville, Florida and I know it's good, what I didn't know is how easy the recipe was so thank you for sharing.

Great channel. Excellent tips on cooling potatoes, and light brown sugar worked well. Used a gluten free flour and we enjoyed it immensely. Your channel is great. Recipe appearing on the screen is a great touch!

I found a Kraft recipe probably 15 years ago. It’s Oat Topped Sweet Potato Casserole. My family loved it! I make it every year for Thanksgiving. It’s fantastic!😀👍🏻🔥
Last year, I felt that I was going to be so pressed for time on Thanksgiving that I needed to prep as much as possible. So, the night before the big day, I made the filling AND the pecan topping (I was thinking in terms of the Dutch crumb apple pies in the freezer section of the grocery store that you buy and bake yourself). I then assembled everything, put it in the freezer, pulled it out a couple of hours before I baked it, so the filling would thaw a bit, and baked it. It tasted amazing and looked amazing as well. I, also cube some frozen butter and threw it in the food processor along with the some pecan halves, flour, and brown sugar. I pulsed it to incorporate everything, then pour it onto the sweet potato filling.
So can you cook the potatoes w/ all the first ingredients a day ahead. Then pop it in the oven on TG DAY again w/ just the topping? Also you reheat in the oven? THX.
Thanks for the recipe. I like that it ia only 1/4 cup of flour. I want to try it with almond flour but I have guests coming I know this is tried and true!
Yep, made it this past thanksgiving. I’m gluten free and just substituted the flour for a gluten free one. Everyone wanted second helpings plus some for their to go box! It’s been requested for Christmas too. Thanks.
I live near Provo Utah, where there is Ruby River Steakhouse. They have a delicious battered and deep fried sweet Potato. I'd love to be able to recreate it at home.
I have never been there, but I can still do some investigating. I can email the Exec. Chef and see if they are willing to share. Sometimes that works! Thanks for the recommendation!
I've never had the original RC dish, so I can't comment on how close this recipe is. What I can say is that it has a very good flavor. My wife doesn't like nuts, and she even liked this dish. Well done, and thanks for posting this 👌

The Coho Cafe restaurant is in Issaquah, WA. They have the most amazing item on their menu called the Kogi Short Rib and Egg Stack. It is unlike anything Ive ever had and so delicious. Whenever I go to Seattle, I make sure to stop there for lunch. I would be thrilled if you could figure out how it is made. Thanks.
Since I was a child, I have always loved the creamy French dressing at Big Boy’s. Haven’t eaten there in a while, so not sure they’ve changed the name. Would love to have that recipe. Thx

Unsolicited advice, unless you are a diabetic and or have some sort of bad response to sugar and butter… stop making cakes or sweet potatoes or other treats with butter sugar alternatives. If it’s a poundcake, it’s supposed to have a pound of sugar and a pound of butter. That’s why it’s called a poundcake. If you don’t want a pound cake or cake then don’t eat cake. But if it requires sugar and butter, just use sugar and butter. The milk scenario I do understand some people are intolerant. So I’ll take exception in that. I understand that I’m not into intolerant, but I do understand it. Now everyone go out into the world and be great.😊😊😂😂❤
