I didn't take your words for it; I bought one and tried it for myself. This is a great backyard gun. It's accurate, has enough power to get rid of some iguanas, beautiful wood stock, and such a joy to shoot. I didn't stick with the stock scope though, kinda blurry to me; so I got a Hawke scope in its place. Best part is: it likes the cheap pellets that I can get at Wally World, 500 for $6. I can shoot until my arms fall off from the 41lbs cocking effort. Love it.
Buddy I have put days if not weeks of thought into buying this exact rifle for backup to PCPs. Granted I love my PCPs for obvious reasons but still this platform and it’s multi shot capability is just awesome. Strong enough to do pest control and accurate enough to do pest control with confidence my friend. Really digging this rifle. Thank you for doing a proper review on this platform. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the great review . I did an impulse buy yesterday and picked up a Gen3i . Put 100 pellets through it this morning. It was a quick trip out to sight it in . I only used the tail gate of my truck and my arm for a rest and I’m amazed at how tight the groups are. Can cover 6 shots with a quarter. I can’t wait to put it on a bench rest to really dial it in . It’s an Amazing out of the box gun and accuracy is great . Thank you for covering it.
Super review. That gun is awesome. Even when I don’t care particularly for a gun, your reviews are entertaining. With the right blend of info, opinion and honesty. They are not overly intricate. Those tend to lose me. Keep them coming JC.
I watched your review you did a year ago on the gamo swarm magnum and you gave the magnum and the bone collector 5 stars so I bought both of them and I’m not disappointed they are great break barrel rifles.
I bought my Bone Collector the end of May this year. I don't shoot a lot but I have the gun out most days rubbing Old English Wood oil into the stock with a nice old soft white sock. I took off the scope it came with and put a Hammers 3-9x40AO on it and am happy with it. Just wish I had more time to shoot.
Reminds me of my Hunter Extreme .177 although it is single shot. Made in England. Also my gen 1 maxxim . Nice looking gun and great review . I just love the look of wood and metal. They should offer more wood stocks .
@jimmy Burnett Sure ! But I'm satisfied with pellets performance that i use so far i guess for me why fix something that isn't broke ? My gun likes the super cheap Winchester ammo 9.6 grain round head , don't ask me why i have no clue? Most alloys are spendy .
Just unboxed and put some cheap Crosmans through my new bone collector, your review was spot on, I just ordered the bsa outlook 3×9×40, I hope that was the right choice.
@@martinanderson4803 That was an excellent choice. Those scopes are durable, designed for the reverse recoil at a reasonable price. I really like this rifle! Looking to buy my first air rifle in 50 years and have been on the fence for the past month or so. After watching your Bone Collector review I ordered one yesterday. Shot a Sheridan silver streak growing up and at first was leaning towards something similar. After seeing your Benjamin multi-pump review I remembered all too well pumps 8, 9 and 10, hahaha. I'm a fit 64, and while I like the idea of variable pressure for stray dogs and such, and open sights for running rabbits, squirrels and trick shots, I think all things considered, the Bone Collector seems to be the practical choice. Going to use it for plinking for fun with my son and have a new dog we rescued that wants to hunt. It's a little more than what I was originally planning on spending but would rather go ahead and pull the trigger now than wondering later. Same reason I'm not starting off with a pcp. I'll see how much I use the break barrel and go from there. I'm 30 minutes from a town, probably an hour from someplace that would charge tanks..... so convenience weighs heavily. Thanks for your reviews and keep up the good work.
You are so welcome! I really appreciate you tuning in and sharing your comments. The only thing I suggest is after you shoot the rifle and get use to it, purchase one of my trigger screw kits. It will be the best $10.00 you ever spend.👍😉
20+ foot pound Gamo break barrel sounds awesome. I haven’t seen these in the sites I buy from but this seems like a really good buy. 800 FPS is definitely going to help past 30 yards or so. @@AirgunDetectives I REALLY DO NOT LIKE SPRING PISTOL BREAK BARREL AIRGUNS! I only shoot the compressed air, no-recoil airguns which have much better accuracy.
I purchased one about six weeks ago. It has earned its right to hang on the wall in the living room along with the German HW rifles. Unlike yours mine is extremely pellet picky and likes only the Red Fire and the 16 grain Air Arms 5.51 yellow tin. I did try lots of brands, weights and so on at least 20 of them. This is the Compact model AMX, long scopes on this rifle will interfere with the break action. It needs to be a short one. At 25 yards there is only one ragged hole. No group, just one ragged hole with a 10 shot group. At 35 yards it is one inch and under consistently, and this is how it earned a spot on my wall. This morning I shot some groups at 50 yards and they averaged 1.25 inches. This is no fluke as it is consistent. I will get better, next time I will not drink any coffee.....lol! Kit...thank you for sharing those excellent details. This is my favorite Gamo as well and ironically it made my ring of fame in my office next to the HW's 97, 98, TX200, and a Feinwerkbau. 👍
Great review as always JC! Haven't had a chance to shoot mine much but thanks for reinforcing my purchase decision. SInce this rifle is so good, It would be awesome for you to compare it to a comparable German wood stocked break barrel? I truly think this rifle has the capability of being a 50 yard hunting rifle, what are your thoughts and 50 yard accuracy and power?
@@gmanneod8085 hey Buddy. I think 40-45 yards would be a safe beat for humane hunting or pest control. I think Gamo jumped into their BSA supply line for this stock. The best I have seen by Gamo yet. What a great rifle👍It sounds like your collection is building 🙂
@@AirgunDetectives JC, yes it is strategically so! BTW, did Gamo provide the BC Gen 2 rifle for review? I'd love to see a second BC review with some 40 yard targets comparing the bundle scope to your BSA outlook scope. How much more accurate would it shoot? Maybe the Hammers Magnum scope VS the BSA outlook. Gamo may like that review. I really love my Bone Collector. Awesome quality like you said. I hate scratching wood stocks while hunting (BC is my bench rifle, & backyard pester) so I will be looking for a synthetic multi shot break barrel to replace my tired 10 yo Benjamin Trail. I keep eyeing that Crosman Magfire Ultra but with Crosman moving it from the Benjamin line to the Crosman, no good reviews ;-), I have my doubts, but it still has a 5 y warranty? Ultimately, I wish Umarex would make a good powerful mag feed underlever, the Walther LGU in a multi mag. style. Or a Gamo CFR with a mag. and the Mach 1?
I shot 99% of my 300 plus rounds before I added the screw. However, everything on film, as far as shooting was with the trigger screw upgrade. Thanks for watching 😉
So I watched your video on how to install the trigger screw and as I said I repair watches for a living anyway thanks for all your videos and the tutorial on how to install it even though I'm happy with the pull I still may give it a try to experience the difference that and I want one of your bipods
Great looking rifle, I want to see Gamo craft a rifle similar to this in how its a break barrel repeater, but create one with a side cocking lever, make lever a detachable high quality, steel, or 7075 T6 aluminum for longevity. A side cocking rifle, will be good when shooting off the bench.
Bought one and the suggested ammo, and from 100 ft, I put a pellet through 4 layers of 1/16 corrugated steel vis a vis the sidewalls of two tool sheds…
Few months later, i just love this bone collector. Cocking effort eases and it is a blast to shoot it now. I am looking for a scope. What would be your recommandations ? By the way i put on the screw you sell on your website....amazing results thanks
I went with a Hawke Vantage on my Bone Collector amzn.to/3KEBgbb I drilled a forward stop-pin hole in my RRR and used two-piece scope rings. I put the ring with the stop pin in front. You can't use the back hole because your mount will hang over and make contact with the rear portion of the RRR (Recoil Reducing Rail)
Great video sir, I was checking your video and I buy one, but can you leave the magazine with full of pellets on the rifle for nextime hunting/shooting?
I would equate that to any magazine in regard to spring tension. I would always remove several rounds from my duty magazines after every shift to spare some spring tension. I also put new springs in my duty mags occasionally. This is the same principle I wouldn't leave a full magazine stored for an extended period of time (weeks). However, I do leave about 1/2 the rounds in the mag when I store the rifle just in case I need the rifle for rapid pest control. I also have a few magazine spares as well. But if you are on a weekend hunting trip..load them up! Happy Shooting 👍
I just got a Bone Collector "Bull Whisper". It has a green synthetic stock with black inserts. The bluing on it is insanely good. It's not a 10X model. Does all this make mine a gen 1? Also came with a 4x scope. NOT a 3-9x. I think those 10X systems are a bad idea. Not really a fan of them.
Loved this review! I'll say this. And I'm just speaking from personal opinion. As someone I'm well aware is in the minority on this, I have zero interest in the swarm mechanism. So Imho, if Gamo would just put a whisper fusion mach 1 in the G2 bone collector stock, that would be their best ever.
You have to find just the right pellet. We often say "The rifle will chose the pellet" I have had several identical rifles and they often like different pellets. Thank you for tuning in and Happy Shooting👍
Just found your channel and I just started shooting airguns and I'm getting into rifles more and more, they are a lot of fun. I'm doing some comparisons on this to the new Swarm Viper Gen 3i, seems like the basic difference is the stock and magazine feed. Would you agree?
Actually, the Bone Collector Gen2 and 3 is more powerful. It has the larger Mach-1 Chamber. It is also a little more difficult to cock in comparison to the Viper. I appreciate you watching 👍🏻😉
Hey JC, Thanks for the great review on the Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen 2 in .22 5 stars. WOW!!! So, the big question for me is how would you rate this next to a Weirauch or Air Arms TX 200? The reason I ask is because I want to get an heirloom piece for my kids. I know these three airguns are not the same price point, platform, power output, or same wood stock, but at just around 20 fpe, the $300 multi shot Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen. 2 in .22 with a beech stock beats out the walnut stock, single shot, 15 to 17 fpe Weirauch 77 or Air Arms fixed barrel under lever in .177 or .22 at nearly or over $500 in terms of "Bang for the Buck" bargain. Am I missing something? Is there another criteria or factors I should consider? Which is a better deal in your opinion? Better quality, fit, finish, durability, collector desirability, resale value, etc? Thanks again. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
Hey Ken, the Gamo is a 5 star rifle for the price and the performance in its category, but is nowhere near the level of a TX200. The TX200 is like a Rolls-Royce and the Gamo is like a Toyota. The TX and the HW are rifles that can be passed down as heirlooms. When you are ready, my friend Mike will set you up with on of those and provide a full-tune at no extra cost. Just email me when you are ready. Happy Shooting 😉👍🏻
@@kenfan5666Gamo is like a Seat. Air Arms like a Rolls-Royce and Weihrauch is like a Maybach. There is no comparsion with them. Even the cheapest Hw30/35/50 is still better than any gamo
@airgunhunter927 Thanks for your input. I'm still saving up for the two HWs; I think it will probably be the 95s. Do you have any recommendations or favourites?
I went back and forth between this video and the 1 you did of the whisper fusion mach 1, the whisper fusion shoots at a higher fps, is it possible that gamo " tuned" down the pressure in the new bone collector?? I know that there will be slight variations in rifles, but I've watched a lot of reviews on both, the whisper fusion is consistently shooting at a higher fps, the cocking effort is higher too I think, just a thought and observation
Not to question you but, how does it shoot so accurately with the bipod? I’ve never had luck with any medium powered springer/nitro piston gun with anything but an artillery hold even shooting from a bench. It kind of defies the common understanding. Does this bipod seem to work with all springers you’ve tried it on?
.22 gen 2 10x.. .22 swarm maxim gen 1 And old bone collector .177 and Crossman F4 Nitro piston .177 All love the Crossman premier hollow points.. No need for ANYTHING else!! 68yds. .22 in my Magnum.. In one side of the head and out the other on an adult groundhog! Y'all want to buy expensive pellets, be my guest.. I pay 3 cents per shot! But a crappy thing about the mount that Gamo includes, they say it is a recoil dampner.. NO IT IS NOT!! I blew up 3 scopes within 1500 shots.. Bought the "Diana" mount that absorbs 95% of recoil.. I purposely bought the cheapest scope at walmart was 20 bucks.. 1000 shots later.. Still driving tacks at 35yds. Good investment! But, kudos to Gamo, I've shot probably 5000 pellets through my Swarm magnum gen.2 10x in .22 and still touching holes off the bench at 40 yds.
@@AirgunDetectives sure is.. Those hollow points hold together.. And people complain they are dirty.. I clean my barrels every 2-300 shots.. Run the bore brush with old No.9 And 3 patches, ready for another 2-300 Thanks for the reply!

Is the action of this rifle based on the BSA lightning, if so I was wondering if the trigger could be retro fitted to the BSA lightning as the BSA trigger is no where near as good as the game.
I'm surprised you have not upgraded to a box for plinking where you could pull the string and reset it cuz I'm sure you get tired of walking 40 yards every four shots lol hope to see the upgrade one day

Terrific review of a very capable rifle, a big thanks Jc 👍🇬🇧
Steve, thanks for watching and I appreciate your comments 👍😉
Looking for the sky to start falling...You actually used a STOCK scope!!! :) I love my Gen 1 Bone collector but dam this looks good!
Yes, every once and awhile I do. The glass was really clear on this one. I do prefer an adjustable objective though.😉👍
just want to say i do appreciate your reviews it really helps me on my next selection. thank you and HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!
Thanks Buddy and I really appreciate you watching 👍😉
Great review as always JC! Haven't had a chance to shoot mine much but thanks for reinforcing my purchase decision. SInce this rifle is so good, It would be awesome for you to compare it to a comparable German wood stocked break barrel? I truly think this rifle has the capability of being a 50 yard hunting rifle, what are your thoughts and 50 yard accuracy and power?
Hi Buddy...thanks for your continued support 👍
@@AirgunDetectives Added to my comments! Would Like your input.
@@gmanneod8085 I have both of those scopes. I have to remember what I put the Hammers on. 😉👍
No T-shirts to the Nederlands ? , we love your reviews ! Greatings from the Nederlands , Martin van Aken ( s'heer Hendrikskinderen) ( NL)
Sorry, we love your comments from Holland
I can ship anywhere in the world. Just email me info@airgundetectives.com for a quote. Thanks for watching 👍😉
This rifle is a must buy and thanks for the awesome review. I was wondering about the noise level which I could not find. Richard
JC, thanks for the thorough review. Nice to see Gamo's upping their game while not breaking the bank. Were you shooting after your trigger screw mod?
I shot 99% of my 300 plus rounds before I added the screw. However, everything on film, as far as shooting was with the trigger screw upgrade. Thanks for watching 😉
Really nice looking rifle!! Thanks for another great review! 👍
Thanks again for watching Stan. I appreciate your continued support 👍
Another awesome video definitely will be getting that gun. Thanks brotha
Hey Buddy, thank you for watching and I appreciate your comments 👍😊
So I watched your video on how to install the trigger screw and as I said I repair watches for a living anyway thanks for all your videos and the tutorial on how to install it even though I'm happy with the pull I still may give it a try to experience the difference that and I want one of your bipods
Great looking rifle, I want to see Gamo craft a rifle similar to this in how its a break barrel repeater, but create one with a side cocking lever, make lever a detachable high quality, steel, or 7075 T6 aluminum for longevity. A side cocking rifle, will be good when shooting off the bench.
Im soooo glad i already got this before it sold out worth it on that memorial day sale too
Just got mine. Great gun. The only thing is the cocking effort hard and the scope..
Look at the cocking efforts as a bit of a workout. That means if you shoot a lot it will get easier because you will be stronger :)💪👍
@@AirgunDetectives lmao. You re right.
Great review as always. Keep it up!
Thanks for your support and I appreciate your comments 👍😉
Bought one and the suggested ammo, and from 100 ft, I put a pellet through 4 layers of 1/16 corrugated steel vis a vis the sidewalls of two tool sheds…
Very well review, sir 👍🏻
Would you like to review another Gamo rifles, like CFX underlever?
Great review. Thank you.
You mention that it is one of two favorites of yours from Gamo. May I ask what the second one is?
Few months later, i just love this bone collector. Cocking effort eases and it is a blast to shoot it now. I am looking for a scope. What would be your recommandations ? By the way i put on the screw you sell on your website....amazing results thanks
I went with a Hawke Vantage on my Bone Collector amzn.to/3KEBgbb
I drilled a forward stop-pin hole in my RRR and used two-piece scope rings. I put the ring with the stop pin in front. You can't use the back hole because your mount will hang over and make contact with the rear portion of the RRR (Recoil Reducing Rail)
@@AirgunDetectives thanks. Maybe the bkl would do the trick without piercing.
Great review looks like a great air rifle. Its on my wish list.
Hi Mike, thanks for watching and yes Gamo has a winner here!👍😉
@@AirgunDetectives thanks for doing those reviews. Better than regular TV.
Great, thorough review.
Hey JC, good to see things going well with you... What makes your t-shirts “ high-end”? Full details please. Thanks!
Thanks for the review on my list 😎👍🏻
Enjoyed the video and I'm definitely interested in it. Is there a way to distinguish between the older version and the new one? Thanks
They no longer make the Gen-1 Bone Collector. They now have the Gen-2 and I did a complete review on that as well.👍
@@AirgunDetectives 10-4 , I saw one online for sale and didn't know which one it was.
So,is the bone collector basically the maxxim gen 2 with a wood stock?
Great review thanks for sharing.
Hey Cory...one of my faithful supporters! I always appreciate you watching and thank you for your comments 😉👍
Bumper to bumper lol good deal no worries over dents and scratches lol
3 year warranty...not bad. Seriously, the best Gamo rifle I ever owned. I appreciate you watching and thank you for the comments 👍😉
Update I just got one man I will building up my guns 💪🏻 cocking this one . Love it though. Yours one of the best reviews besides Angie s . Thanks
Great looking gun. Hard for me to shoot piston/spring guns though now that I've gone over to pcps lol.
Yes...true, but I love the rifles that don't depend on an outside air source. That's why there is room for many airguns in a collection 😉👍
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the visit
I was a subscriber already , but checked to be sure . . Good show , those rifles are 500 dollars here in Denmark
One of my favorite Gamo rifles if not my absolute favorite! Thank you for watching 👍
Well done,…and Subscribed!!!
Mark, thanks for tuning in and welcome👍😉
You are sooo right. Although, I have had no issues with the new G2 magazines. The rifle is still working flawlessly after 1000 plus rounds.👍
I should say it's not that I find any flaw with them. They just don't interest me. And I like the cleaner look.
Great review, thank you. Can it shoot a 22 lead BB?
I’ve shot the ones u used and from my experience you chose some of the ones that didn’t work on mine.
Hey JC,
Thanks for the great review on the Gamo Swarm Bone Collector Gen 2 in .22
5 stars.
@@AirgunDetectives Hey JC, Thanks again for your prompt reply.
Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
@@kenfan5666 fixed barrel of course. Hw97k 💪
I just received mine. Great gun but cocking effort is hard....
Thanks for another great review 👌
David, I appreciate you watching 👍😉
Magnifico este rifle gamo. Es muy bonito y dispara genial. Un saludo desde Sevilla, España
Can you do a sound test too especially with the air guns with the suppressed technology?
I do that in all the reviews...look during the chrono test.
You shoot more pellets then any one person I know. So we’re is the best place and price to get the hornet 22. I know you done the research. Thanks
Goodday sir, can you make and video how to install an belt sling on this gamo bone collector air rifle wooden stock.
great video but stary giving how many yards you are shooting?
Oh it is the best pellet gun I think. Looks, finish, n shooting. It's nice. Not more than 200 nice though
Just ordered a Gen3i. Hope it shoots as well as your Gen2.
What altitude are you at, if you don't mind me asking?
I went back and forth between this video and the 1 you did of the whisper fusion mach 1, the whisper fusion shoots at a higher fps, is it possible that gamo " tuned" down the pressure in the new bone collector?? I know that there will be slight variations in rifles, but I've watched a lot of reviews on both, the whisper fusion is consistently shooting at a higher fps, the cocking effort is higher too I think, just a thought and observation
JC, your amazon link for splatterburst targets just brings me to amazon home page
Thanks Charlie, I will check that out. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your support 👍
Ok...it's working now😉
Not to question you but, how does it shoot so accurately with the bipod? I’ve never had luck with any medium powered springer/nitro piston gun with anything but an artillery hold even shooting from a bench. It kind of defies the common understanding. Does this bipod seem to work with all springers you’ve tried it on?
Also, how do you put back on the scope protection ? The swarm mechanism is in the way
Can you review the Gamo Raptor?
.22 gen 2 10x.. .22 swarm maxim gen 1
And old bone collector .177 and Crossman F4 Nitro piston .177
All love the Crossman premier hollow points..
It is such a bonus when a rifle shoots well with inexpensive pellets!! Especially one with a 10 round magazine 👍🙂
@@AirgunDetectives sure is.. Those hollow points hold together.. And people complain they are dirty.. I clean my barrels every 2-300 shots.. Run the bore brush with old No.9
And 3 patches, ready for another 2-300
Thanks for the reply!
@@garylamerex5518 what is ironic is I picked up 6 cans of the Crosman Premier HP, 14.3 gr. They are the cleanest and most shiney pellets I ever purchased from Crosman. They may have upped their game recently.
@@AirgunDetectives yea they did!
They make a magnum as a pcp rifle?
Do you use zero recoil mounts on break barrels? What kind of scope are you using on this rifle?
i posted this on another video, i ordered the whisper fusion mach 1 in 22, i like the bone collector, but i don't want or need another magazine rifle, i just target shoot
I agree, but the Gen2 bone collector package is amazing. The stock is the best I have seen from Gamo. I think they dipped into their BSA line for that one.
@@AirgunDetectives i may still get 1,,, down the road,, but the whisper was on sale and it gets great reviews, we'll see :) , this will be my 3rd gamo, my 5th rifle,, i don't need anymore but yes, the new bone collector is a sweet looking rifle
@@woofman4796 Funny thing...I said I am not going to buy another airgun over 100 times. I looked up one day and realized my overall collecting exceeded 300. It is an addictive hobby, but extremely enjoyable. If you like Gamo rifles grab a Gen2 Bone Collector, you will not be sorry. Happy Shooting!
@@AirgunDetectives if i keep seeing great reviews on the bone collector,, and if i can find 1 at a decent price,, i might convince my wife that it will be a required addition :)
@@woofman4796 isn't that why we have, birthdays, Christmas, Father's day, etc. The G2 BC will be calling your name at some point. Tell the wife if the country collapses you want to be prepared. Ammunition will be rare but you'll have plenty of pellets to provide food for the family😉 Ok that one was free, I'm not even charging for that. Happy Shooting 👍
Is the action of this rifle based on the BSA lightning, if so I was wondering if the trigger could be retro fitted to the BSA lightning as the BSA trigger is no where near as good as the game.
Gamo never reaches the claim velocity, even with the PBA ammo?
How does the noise compare to the Fusion Gen 3i?
I'm surprised you have not upgraded to a box for plinking where you could pull the string and reset it cuz I'm sure you get tired of walking 40 yards every four shots lol hope to see the upgrade one day
I have my shooting cart for the majority of my shooting and that holds an abundant amount of targets. But you can't believe how many trips I make in the filming process. It's good exercise 😉👍
Top air gun. What is the difference with the new gen3i that also have the inertia fed magasine
They improved the inertia system. I just received a Gen-3 Magnum and I will do a review on it in the next few weeks.
@@AirgunDetectives look forward for your vidéo. Having the bone collector gens2 , i wonder if it is worth the upgrade in gen3i
@@jcdupuy4809 I would stay with what you have. The new magazine holder is slightly a lower profile. The inertia system has slightly improved, but they use the same identical inertia magazines. Look for my review in a few weeks on the Gen-3 Swarm Magnum.
