I'm a Nigerian Food and Lifestyle Blogger documenting bits of every other day in my life with my son, Tito and husband Bobo.
I'll start by saying "Sisi, thanks for the words of encouragement..." I am 40ish and still have not found my passion...I obviously work because I have a home, family and bills, but I am still praying and asking God to guide my steps... Honestly, sometimes I wonder if He hears me, maybe it's right in front of me and I just can't see it for some reason...There is nothing more miserable than going through life on "autopilot" and watching other people living their dreams and being seemingly happy...So thanks again because ur words and personal experience really hit home for me...Finally, I loved that abstract art( flower) above ur hotel bed and yellow is also my favorite color too...Enjoy the rest of ur "baecation" and I look forward to the next update...Oh yeah, ur husband is a pro with those chopsticks ( LOL)...
Afternoon Delight I completely identify with your passion issue as I had a similar struggle. God hears you and sometimes He’s responded but we don’t hear. When I found my passion, it was with the help of compliments from people and a little check list that asked me to list those things I’m good at. Sometimes looking at others seemingly living their dreams can be misleading and discouraging.
Focus on your strong points i.e. What things that you’ve done that you get positive feedback on?
What do you enjoy doing or do with ease? Putting in little effort or something you just have a knack for?
The answers to those questions may be the first step in identifying your passion. If you can identify at least one of those things, try putting your energy and resources into it and before you know it, others will be looking at you living your dream as well. Be blessed.
God is your strength. Don’t be discouraged. My parents always used to say life begins at 40 and not to be cliche, the race is not to the swift. Anything - and I do mean anything is possible - just keep searching. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Your life is not a mistake and you do have a purpose. I pray you find it. It’s people like you that when you find what you were meant to do, you appreciate it so much and you go so hard that the rest of us that have no choice but to stand back and look in awe. You’re on your path. Keep going ❤️
Afternoon Delight I hope you find your way to something wonderful. If you have a dream or anything you want to do,start by saving some money, piece by piece. Knowing you will eventually have enough money for something exciting gives you something to look forward to. Just smile and hold tight, I'm sure you'll find your way soon enough. Trust in yourself and God. :)

Sisi yemmie God just sent you to me this evening, I'm currently struggling with the same issue now, studied economics for my undergrad then did my masters in finance and management and while studying for my masters I realized it was a mistake cos it's not really what I want and since graduating I have not had a job long enough to even count as experience. Now I've identified what it is I really want to do but problem is how to even start. I have always had interest in photography from a young age but at the time it was not even an option to consider cos what Nigerian parent will let you study photography and to be honest I didn't even know it was something I could pursue, that's one and I've also found out that I love all things media radio presenting, tv presenting, youtube, producing, editing etc but unsure where to start from but right now I'm saving to get a camera and self train myself in photography and editing. Thank God for advancement in media in this part of the wold and for people like you that are doing it and succeeding in it giving us hope that we too can do it. Thank you.

Sisiyemmie thnks alot 4 d encouragement.... i sort of feel (for lack of a better word) less of a loser....am a 26year old year undergraduate in her 200L, am also d 2nd born, d 3rd child is done with skul nd serving while d 4th child who's also d last child is in her final level. Sometimes thinking abt it depresses me especially wen i knoe am supposed 2 be long done with university, Almost everytime i wonder how nd what my life would eventually be like afterwards.....Listening 2 u now just mkes me realise i need 2 keep pushing nd hope nd pray 4 d best eventually...... i just believe God will help direct my life. Great words of advice. Really encouraging. My problem is not knowing what I want to do or feeling lost. Cause I know exactly what I want to do and what my calling is and I'm on the road to that right now. My problem is feeling the urge to want to do "MORE", I don't want a mediocre life. But what you said about being the best at whatever you do, is something i need to super glue to my head as i go through life, cause it's easy to just want to get the bare minimum esp when things get tough.
