This video shows you how to install a new TRQ power steering rack and pinion assembly on your 2002-2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer 4.2L. The rack and pinion assembly transforms the turning motion of your steering wheel to the push and pull motions that turn the front wheels of your vehicle, as well as adding the power assistance. If the steering rack on your vehicle is leaking, or damaged in some way, you might need to replace it entirely.
This repair was done on a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT 4.2L Sport Utility 4-Door 4WD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer
2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Thank you so much for this video. The transfer lines on my daughter's R&P went out. I watched your video and stopped after each step, went and did that job and then came back and watched the next step and went to do that job. It went flawlessly. The hardest past was moving that rubber boot up off the pinion to get to the pinch bolt. Thank you so much.
TRQ produces Great Content! Very impressive and much appreciated! I love your detailed step by step walk through the repairs. The part I don’t understand is how you can provide such Volume while maintaining the quality. Best wishes for your continued success.
I liked the way you explained the entire process in detail, I really appreciate making this video and sharing it.
Perfect video attending to the details without a bunch of worthless information. A+ video
+@douglasstewart1380 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Good video, however unless you're using some kind of aftermarket seal, the OEM seals are pressed into the rack, and should be tapped in using a socket when the rack is out of the vehicle. You can also pre pierce the seals while it's out, which will make getting the lines into the rack a lot easier.
Great instructions! I’ve just done mine using this video as a guide. Everything went perfect! Thank you
What seals you use where u get them can’t find them no where
Love this video it was very helpful
Does anyone know if the steering rack has an internal stop? I put in my new steering rack (thanks for the video btw) and everything is working swell but I can turn my steering SUPER FAR and it doesn’t hit a stop
buen trabajo amigo me va servir para un futuro cambio de cremallera thanks 👍👍👍
please do a video on replacing a rack and pinion on a 2001 Toyota Tundra thank you
+@Backindemand We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Awesome I been waiting for this
My new part didn't come with seals do yoy know where I could order?
Excellent video...
This is a 4x4 and not some goofy 2 wheel drive version correct?
Well, I accidentally moved that part and my steering wheel is now turned a little to the left, it will be easier to remove it again, or turn my steering wheel, or align it, the steering wheel is only slightly left but it is noticeable when it is Right the wheels, this one is a little to the left.
I cannot for the life of me get those return lines back into the rack. I think the lines may be slightly bent or something because my lines with the bracket aren’t sliding in and I’ve been stuck on this for a while, any tips would be appreciated thanks
+@natethegamer7341 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Do you not need to flush the power steering lines?
My 2002 specs said lug nuts are 85 ft.-lb. Maybe it is different.
Very good video. Thanks.
