    I’m on the last course of the Google UX/UI Certificate and I have learned SO MUCH. I have a background in art (Master’s in Art History) so I already have the visual design background under my belt (even took a History in New Media course where i had to build my own website based on my research paper). I’m currently in a finance role (don’t ask me how I ended up here LOL) and looking to transition into UX! I’ve also been a part of several usability studies for two major program rollouts in my current job which I absolutely loved. Thank you for posting your experience, I’m so excited to start applying to jobs 😊

    As an experienced GD, I have to say UI is more of a science and if you love doing puzzles and mind-map type cognitive activities you’ll enjoy it. Art is also pretty solo, whereas UX all collaborative.

    • @VivisPixels
      @VivisPixels  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends a lot on the company and culture, in Israel UX is more of the science one. But I think this varies on definition in the industry!

    for someone to say they turned into a full fledged ux ui designer in 3 months its a fallacy.

    • @VivisPixels
      @VivisPixels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey JJ! Great question. My job is very flexible, they let me decide for the most part. I know of UX Designers that are fully remote - to really do well at this it's important to be in great communication with the team (this is something that's hard to control, and makes you need a good team). I personally didn't do a graphic design course :) it helps for doing UI though. I believe with some effort, time on the design apps and youtube videos - you can get by without a gd course :) up to you though! Just my thoughts

    • @VivisPixels
      @VivisPixels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chunks 😊 I think like any new skill you learn it will take time and practice. UX is a bit different than graphic design in the way that it requires researching what is the best thing to make and only then deciding. Research in itself is half the work (which isn’t hard - but that’s my opinion). Coming from graphic design you’ll have an advantage bringing in UI and fun elements. I think it’s worth a shot if you want to try, never hurts 😊

      Yes English is important for a UX designer if we work with foreign companies! Because you’ll communicate a lot on the design and the stakeholders will want to make sure you both understand each other. Communication is key in UX, so I’d recommend improving it as well to pick up on details they ask for the designs
