Always a pleasure to listen KEXP from France. Thank you for this live, I love it ! And thank you to Cheryl, she is always perfect ! All the to all of you !
Saw them live this summer - I've never been so overwhelmed by the power, energy, and joyful fury of a live performance. All of them are talented beyond description, but as a bass player, I was blown away by the mad skills of Jeanie Schroder, who plays the upright bass, electric bass, and sousaphone with skill and style. Oh, and the flute as well. For the finale, Shawn King the drummer whipped out a trumpet and ripped out a blazing riff leading the band into a mad romp of frenetic and thunderous music. If you have a chance to see them live, DO. NOT. MISS. IT.
I've had the pleasure of seeing DeVotchKa a handful of times over the past 20 years, but my favorite was when they played with the Seattle Symphony. Truly amazing.
I got to see them live with Gogol Bordello years ago….caught and still have a wine cork Nick threw into the audience. Amazing performance then and here as well.
you know back some time ago some friends of my brother used to tell me to listen to this band but I never did. I listened to this whole set and it was quite good. I'm a fan of sneaker pimps singer and his work, not necessarily more recently, anyway, DeVotchka reminds me a lot of the same singing and I really like the music here played during this performance. Well done.
I saw them open for the Dresden Dolls Approximately too many years ago And I remember thinking Holy shit! This is amazing And then there was another time But I think/hope you get my point
What a wonderful performance! Big dislike from Ukraine for using a russian word as the band's name though. Hope that as real MAGAs you do enjoy your coffees and your shiny guitars and your electricity all while we here in Ukraine are cuddling around generators with our kids because of what russians are doing to our country right now. Good job. Good job.
There’s no band that integrates heartbreak and joy more powerfully
NEW DEVOTCHKA PERFORMANCE LETS GOOO-!1!!!
They played in Santa Fe this week and killed it.
Always a pleasure to listen KEXP from France.

He used to smack the tambourine with the bottle. Their shows were instances of pure legit revelry.
