When SoG, Hunted and MotO first came out I watched them in english, 'cause they weren't available in my language yet, and I really really liked the trilogy, up to this date! Every minor little tiny thing realted to death and tragedy and darkness just got stripped away and replaced with silly dialouge that doesn't even make sense in the overall context! Well, in German he said: "Don't worry, she (Mistaké) disappeared when Ruler Garmadon wanted to arrest her!" Oh yeah, Mistaké disappeared, just poofed away, when "Ruler" Garmadon tried to "arrest" her? And that's not even the craziest case of dumb censorship, believe me. No wonder the Ninjago Community is so weak in german countries. The german translators minimize their own targetgroup just for their personal agenda!

I saw Zane in the fridge myself. Whether on tv, disc, or like you said, on Netflix. Also LGBT relationships are offensive to religions including my own unfortunately. I can understand that censorship actually but I personally am not bothered by it considering they are plastic minifigures.
I saw Zane in the fridge, too, and I'm sure that whenever I rewatch it on Netflix I see Zane in the fridge, too. Also, for the LGBT relationship being offensive to some religions, that includes mine, too, but we also believe everyone is free to make their own choices, so it was their choice to become LGBTQ, and, while we may not agree with them, we don't try to be mean or offensive to them. Also, I wasn't super bothered by the two females dancing because they are just background characters that were only on screen for like, 30 seconds, so it wasn't enough for me to think much about it
The Prime Empire censorship honestly just annoys me. Even if they were a couple (not like there's anything wrong there), is it really so unusual for two females to enter a dance competition? There's nothing inherently romantic about it.

Lol there are scenes where the Ninja are literally seconds from death, yet Zane sitting in a fridge was cut! Didn't Garmadon literally rip apart Mr. E, and didn't Tournament of Elements literally show a dismembered PIXAL?
Why is it awkward that Zane eats? If he didn't, wouldn't that have made the others, as well as Zane himself, a little suspicious? He blended in almost perfectly within human society so it's pretty obvious that he was able to eat... And do other things realted to human needs. Besides, only the Master of Golden Power is able to bypass the Laws of Thermodyamics, Zane on the other hand had to compensate his lack of not beeing able to recharged with something else. Converting chemical energy into electric energy via food seems like a good solution. And don't forget, we're speaking about Lego here, the same company that also gave us Bionicle, wich was an inspiration for Ninjago. In Bionicle, the Matoran don't really eat but they also are able to use the energy of organic food to feed themselves. If semi-organic beings can do that, I guess a fully anorganic being like Zane could do the same in a modernized world like Ninjago. Or take Westworld for an example, the Hosts are just like Zane, they are fully robotic (although Gen 2 Hosts look like they were organic even in the inside) but they act like humans, they eat, they drink, they... You know, human needs. So calling a droid from a fantasy/sci-fi universe with the ability to eat awkward feels a little strange to me.
If you think that this is unnecessary censor , then let me list to you some scenes that got cut or change in the Arabic dubbed version : - in the episode when zane found out he’s a robot and he turn his funny switch on then start singing a song that start with “hello my baby” they change the whole song and made him sing a song about a cat and sun or something like that- -in the same episode the remove the scene when he gives them a present and it’s explode (when the episode first aired this scene was in it but then the remove it for some reason) - the didn’t aired the episode when jay found his true potential because of the idea of jay and nya going out on a date - in season 2 they cut the scene when jay evil self kissed nya - the scene in the end of season 11 when pixel jump to zane arm and hug him - in the end of season 10 when jay propose to nya they change the dialogue and made him say “I have this gift for you , will you be my friend ?” And then cut the part when she say yes and jump into his arm to hug him ... basically every time someone Talk about it the dialogue change to make it look like he want to be her friend -in that episode of empire prime when zane become detective and then pixel came they cut the scene when he said “she says , shining a ray of light into my dairy world” , and in the same episode when he say “she seems annoyed but her heart reveal that she like my detective skills” and then pixel said “ my heart did not reveal that! Every part of me is annoyed” (the dialogue is not 100% accurate) that scene also got cut - in the first seasons they change a lot of dialogue and cut some scene to remove the fact that nya and jay where dating , they also cut the scene (I think it’s in season 3 ?) when nya was talking to Cole in the train and then she sit with him and hold his hand ( kinda funny that they kept the scenes when Cole and jay where fighting over nya) - in season 4 they change a lot of dialogues when the ninja where talking about how Kai have a crush on Skylar (I probably spelled her name wrong) - i THINK they remove the scene when Kai was about to kiss skylar but I’m not sure - they cut the scene in skybound when jay saw that he is with nya in the future (but in the next episode when they were showing clips from the previous episode that scene was there and it didn’t get cut and they also kept the scene when zane and jay where talking about it) -they cut the scene when harumi kiss Lloyd and the scene when Akita kiss Lloyd -in empire prime when jay and nya where dancing to win the competition they cut the scene when jay say “I love you” - they change dialogue , A LOT There’s more but I’m too lazy to write the rest , also There is a lot of episodes that I haven’t seen and I mostly watch the show in Arabic so there’s may be other scenes that got cut but I didn’t know
That's weird; I specifically remember watching the episode where Jay finds his true potential in the Arabic dub, I also remember seeing the scenes about Kai's crush on Skylor. This could just be a Mandela effect though since I also watched the English version.
Changing it to a letter really doesn't fit the whole "Zane is weird" scene with Kai. But I do get the reason as to why they changed it. They could have just removed the two dancers in the background who were two females for the other countries and the episode could have still aired. But hey that's just me attempting to solve a problem that really doesn't need to be solved because those two girls could have been best friends or sisters for all we know. But hey that just means people who like Ninjago and missed out on One Step Forward Two Steps back just need to find it online, with subtitles for their language.
LOLOL Ohmygosh, I remember being so used to seeing the note in the fridge left from Zane, that when I saw the OG with him in the fridge, I was kinda weirded out. The change in the scene reminds me a lot of what they did to Mikey in the '80s Turtles cartoon. They got rid of his nunchucks because kids kept making their own and using them on each other. 😂😂

I think that episode was taken out in more smaller countries, and not more populated ones like the USA, the UK, or Japan. However, I haven't seen any version other than the US English one, so I could be wrong
When I watched that prime empire episode, I did actually notice that those two were the only pair of the same gender. But that doesn’t necessarily say anything about a romantic relationship. There’s nothing that’s implied that this is a “couples only” contest or whatever

I, personally, never found anything in Ninjago very offensive. Even if these sensorships were never a thing I still wouldn't find it super offensive. However, my opinion could always change if the writers do something I found offensive in future seasons
Oh yeah, there is this one censorship I don’t know if it’s just me, but in the rise of the snakes episode when the ninja was playing the video game sometimes on the tv it’s pixelated versions of them fighting a dragon and sometimes it shows the pixelated versions of them, fighting the skeletons in the Caves of despair in the pilot episode, king of shadows
If those couples were one of the main characters I would support that scence being cut. LGBTQ shouldn’t be teached to the kids. (I am not saying they should hate it but no need to learn about it. They are kids.) Those characters were side characters what is the reason.

In Germany they changed the dialogue in that one scene when Morro enters the bar that he would ask the bartender for a cup of tea and instead of the other people telling Morro that he looks a little young (like in the US version) they ask him if he wants to play Billiard with them

I saw Zane in the fridge myself. Whether on tv, disc, or like you said, on Netflix. Also LGBT relationships are offensive to religions including my own unfortunately. I can understand that censorship actually but I personally am not bothered by it considering they are plastic minifigures.
I saw Zane in the fridge, too, and I'm sure that whenever I rewatch it on Netflix I see Zane in the fridge, too. Also, for the LGBT relationship being offensive to some religions, that includes mine, too, but we also believe everyone is free to make their own choices, so it was their choice to become LGBTQ, and, while we may not agree with them, we don't try to be mean or offensive to them. Also, I wasn't super bothered by the two females dancing because they are just background characters that were only on screen for like, 30 seconds, so it wasn't enough for me to think much about it

The Prime Empire censorship honestly just annoys me. Even if they were a couple (not like there's anything wrong there), is it really so unusual for two females to enter a dance competition? There's nothing inherently romantic about it.
Yeah, they were also background characters that were on screen in total for at most 1 min, and at least 10 seconds, so it wouldn't be enough to need to be debated

I agree too, in my country they are banning LGBTQ+ couples from any series but they didn't censor or banned anything on the episode from season 12-
And when i had seen the season in my country i didn't think about them as a couple and none of our translators did, and it's also one of my favourite episodes tbh :)

I feel bad for people who haven’t seen one step forward two steps back because it was removed. It’s such a great episode.
Why is it awkward that Zane eats? If he didn't, wouldn't that have made the others, as well as Zane himself, a little suspicious? He blended in almost perfectly within human society so it's pretty obvious that he was able to eat...
And do other things realted to human needs. Besides, only the Master of Golden Power is able to bypass the Laws of Thermodyamics, Zane on the other hand had to compensate his lack of not beeing able to recharged with something else. Converting chemical energy into electric energy via food seems like a good solution.
And don't forget, we're speaking about Lego here, the same company that also gave us Bionicle, wich was an inspiration for Ninjago.
In Bionicle, the Matoran don't really eat but they also are able to use the energy of organic food to feed themselves.
If semi-organic beings can do that, I guess a fully anorganic being like Zane could do the same in a modernized world like Ninjago.
Or take Westworld for an example, the Hosts are just like Zane, they are fully robotic (although Gen 2 Hosts look like they were organic even in the inside) but they act like humans, they eat, they drink, they...
You know, human needs.
So calling a droid from a fantasy/sci-fi universe with the ability to eat awkward feels a little strange to me.
the nya and jay dance scenes were beautiful feels bad for anyone who missed it
If you think that this is unnecessary censor , then let me list to you some scenes that got cut or change in the Arabic dubbed version :
- in the episode when zane found out he’s a robot and he turn his funny switch on then start singing a song that start with “hello my baby” they change the whole song and made him sing a song about a cat and sun or something like that-
-in the same episode the remove the scene when he gives them a present and it’s explode (when the episode first aired this scene was in it but then the remove it for some reason)
- the didn’t aired the episode when jay found his true potential because of the idea of jay and nya going out on a date
- in season 2 they cut the scene when jay evil self kissed nya
- the scene in the end of season 11 when pixel jump to zane arm and hug him
- in the end of season 10 when jay propose to nya they change the dialogue and made him say “I have this gift for you , will you be my friend ?” And then cut the part when she say yes and jump into his arm to hug him ... basically every time someone Talk about it the dialogue change to make it look like he want to be her friend
-in that episode of empire prime when zane become detective and then pixel came they cut the scene when he said “she says , shining a ray of light into my dairy world” , and in the same episode when he say “she seems annoyed but her heart reveal that she like my detective skills” and then pixel said “ my heart did not reveal that! Every part of me is annoyed” (the dialogue is not 100% accurate) that scene also got cut
- in the first seasons they change a lot of dialogue and cut some scene to remove the fact that nya and jay where dating , they also cut the scene (I think it’s in season 3 ?) when nya was talking to Cole in the train and then she sit with him and hold his hand
( kinda funny that they kept the scenes when Cole and jay where fighting over nya)
- in season 4 they change a lot of dialogues when the ninja where talking about how Kai have a crush on Skylar (I probably spelled her name wrong)
- i THINK they remove the scene when Kai was about to kiss skylar but I’m not sure
- they cut the scene in skybound when jay saw that he is with nya in the future (but in the next episode when they were showing clips from the previous episode that scene was there and it didn’t get cut and they also kept the scene when zane and jay where talking about it)
-they cut the scene when harumi kiss Lloyd and the scene when Akita kiss Lloyd
-in empire prime when jay and nya where dancing to win the competition they cut the scene when jay say “I love you”
- they change dialogue , A LOT
There’s more but I’m too lazy to write the rest , also There is a lot of episodes that I haven’t seen and I mostly watch the show in Arabic so there’s may be other scenes that got cut but I didn’t know
That's weird; I specifically remember watching the episode where Jay finds his true potential in the Arabic dub, I also remember seeing the scenes about Kai's crush on Skylor. This could just be a Mandela effect though since I also watched the English version.

Changing it to a letter really doesn't fit the whole "Zane is weird" scene with Kai. But I do get the reason as to why they changed it. They could have just removed the two dancers in the background who were two females for the other countries and the episode could have still aired. But hey that's just me attempting to solve a problem that really doesn't need to be solved because those two girls could have been best friends or sisters for all we know. But hey that just means people who like Ninjago and missed out on One Step Forward Two Steps back just need to find it online, with subtitles for their language.
LOLOL Ohmygosh, I remember being so used to seeing the note in the fridge left from Zane, that when I saw the OG with him in the fridge, I was kinda weirded out. The change in the scene reminds me a lot of what they did to Mikey in the '80s Turtles cartoon. They got rid of his nunchucks because kids kept making their own and using them on each other. 😂😂

I think that episode was taken out in more smaller countries, and not more populated ones like the USA, the UK, or Japan. However, I haven't seen any version other than the US English one, so I could be wrong

I think that in the first episode, the video game in which, “The Ninja,” are playing, is changed to be pixelated on the, “Cartoon Network,” broadcast.
When I watched that prime empire episode, I did actually notice that those two were the only pair of the same gender. But that doesn’t necessarily say anything about a romantic relationship. There’s nothing that’s implied that this is a “couples only” contest or whatever

I, personally, never found anything in Ninjago very offensive. Even if these sensorships were never a thing I still wouldn't find it super offensive. However, my opinion could always change if the writers do something I found offensive in future seasons
