me too, I've never watched a show reaction until I found this channel. What I like is how they get into it but they also have nice insights of foreshadowing, they even take notes, and they are witty and clever. They treat it the same way that any other person who really gets into these shows does, they want to understand the mysteries, the meanings, speculate, etc.
I propose the following watch sequence before you start season 2: -OVA No regrets part 1 & 2 (Levi's back story) -Season 2 Episode 1 -OVA Ilse's Notebook -Then finish season 2 Love your reactions and looking forward to rewatch this show with you guys 👍

Captain Levi is pretty much the most popular character of the whole series. If you look for merch of AOT i think like half of it is dedicated to him lol
I love the optimism about Levi showing the others that he’s got control over Eren, “he’s showing them his humanity” Nah, he’s reminding them that they’re worried he’d turn into a Titan over getting kicked in the face when they were planning to do much worse to him, and that *they aren’t good enough to kill him if he did decide to transform* 😅
You can totally watch all the openings as they come up. They don't ruin the watch experience at all, and I never felt like I knew what was going to happen because I watched the openings.
Yes. Honestly, it's usually the patreon guys who direct reactors how and when to watch, and it pisses me off. For me, the worst is when people say "oh, but you can watch it after episode X" - Like, this is literally way worse than all the spoilers that watching an intro could ever instigate, because it literally dictates when something big is going to happen. This happened with React Pack in the final season, the girls weren't even impressed when THAT happened because they heard the music but didn't see it and so it ended up being pretty obvious what was about to happen.
Another one that people are often opposed to watching is season two's ending. And like, little hints like this and even some of the craziness from the season 2 opening are amazing for building theories. The story is so complex that you could never guess what happens just by watching it. But the hype of the animation with the music and the curiosity of watching and trying to tie everything together, but simply not being able to, makes it much more worth it than simply avoiding 0.6% spoilers. A well-made teaser can provide a better experience than watching something blindly. This is also the reason why there is an ending scene in the last episode of s3 p1, and, contradictorily, the same people who are opposed to watching the intro ask reactors to watch that scene.

There is an OVA called Ilse's Notebook that you should watch next. It's canon side content that is important to the story. The manga for Ilse's Notebook released at the time as the manga chapters covering the part of the anime you're at right now. So now is probably the best time to watch it. And then after season 1, there's another OVA called No Regrets, which covers Levi's backstory.
I personally think the best time for watching Ilse's Notebook is between episodes 1 and 2 of season 2 📖 ***Spoilers below*** Right after meeting the Beast Titan and immediately before hearing Ymir's name the first time.

I actually really don’t like when reactors don’t watch the intros because of the commenters. They really don’t spoil that much while you’re watching. When you finish watching you realize that there’s a lot of clues about what happens in them but it’s really not that big of a deal while you’re watching it for the first time.

No, the dog thing is a misstranslation. Dog in Japanese is Inu and Levi never said that. His line was more "what you need isn't words, it's..." Unfortunately I'm not flurnt in Japanese to know the last word😅 But other versions have the translation I mentioned and used the word discipline instead. Dog is inaccurate

I do suggest they get the lyric version and just watch that each time a new opening happens until later. Then get them to go through it all at once with the actual opening scenes. First intro: mild spoiler for episode later on literally shows armins plan with them in the lift Second intro: mild spoiler Hange getting nailed in the eye and loosing it season 3 part 2 contained a montage of images about Armin, which in fact totally spoiled the best twist in his story arc Final season part 2 was ... welp really bad xD Annie being freed and erens scream There's defintely more I've noticed. And I'm also not talking about all the hidden stuff which is all there in a re-watch lol. So if they already have theories themselves and an intro shows more of a certain character they'll connect the dots I think. They are pretty smart. I've loved watching them react so far and will be here for the whole thing.
