Russian Soldiers Reportedly Go Hungry as Supply Chains Cut Off

- As American companies like McDonald's and Starbucks close their doors in Russia in protest of the war being waged in Ukraine, Russian troops are reportedly losing morale at a breakneck speed. Supply lines are cut off, equipment is breaking down, and soldiers are said to be going hungry. Some of their rations are apparently unfit to be eaten, and some soldiers have resorted to looting grocery stores. Russian oligarchs are scrambling to sell properties in the U.S. before they can be seized.
As Russian, I am not surprised. I always knew the state of our military. Corruption and total lack of organization. If our government is so bad in all other things, why should the military be any different.
This is surprising for many because we've been told that Russia has the second best military in the world.

The same thing happened in the Winter War. It’s rumored that when the Soviets drove the Finnish troops from a position, they saw the food the cooks had left and when they realized their enemies had it better, they stopped their advance just to eat. History is truly repeating itself.

Back in 2003 when I was a system administrator for a 500 person mortgage company that’s what I did - all email coming from Russia was worthless or worse; the vast majority of computer viruses come from there, I used to half-joke it’s their primary national export. And nothing of value was ever lost. If I blocked anything else trust me normally I would hear about it very quickly from someone who had some unknown contact. I was quite surprised when I finally blocked an entire country, and never heard a single complaint.

The expiration dates of Russian "MREs" don't really mean anything. Similarly, the US Army uses its veterinary service to inspect and extend the expiation dates of our MREs, for many years past the original date. Russia does the same.

Germany also chose a three pronged attack into Russia which saw them fail to maintain enough momentum on any of them. Russia likewise came from three directions and initially stalled in each, and have only made some progress in the south since.
This is not similar to how Germany lost the war. Germany actually conquered many countries and places before it was defeated. Dont compare great germany to the hellhole that is russia

Russia has made such great strides to rebuild and improve itself after the Soviet union collapsed. Hate to see the Russian people pay for one man's actions. To the Russians with friends and family in Ukraine my heart goes out to you. To the Russian soldiers who want no part may you return to your familys.We have had many foreign exchange students from Russia and they were all lovely people. One of them is studying here to become a neuro surgeon is absolutely devastated at Putin's actions. He has family residing in Ukraine and can't get ahold of any of them. No one wins in war. The world will never learn.

The logistical breakdown is of special interest…..any army the has supply problems this early in a campaign has greater issues than feeding the troops,it also implies that there’s a major problem with medical services and support which has a enormous impact on morale,the wounded and injured maybe at serious risk,emergency services,medical supplies (bandages,medicine,blood plasma,medical equipment )could be found wanting….there could be major shortages in doctors,nurses, and field medics as well as inadequate facilities for surgeries or even a lack of hospital beds…..there’s much to be said about the ineptitude and incompetence this invasion has revealed….
