Amen. Modern Christianity puts blinders on us like we were some kind of horse. Our spiritual leaders put these blinders on us because they were trained by people who put blinders on them. Personal salvation is all that matters to them. But God's plan of redemption goes beyond "personal" salvation. God created man to conquer evil and He made man male and female to do that. He made family to multiply His solution and He made nation to protect family. All of these, as we see today, are critically involved and necessary. What does it profit a man to gain his soul and lose his family and nation? (ref. Romans 9:3) God created family and nation to further His plan of redemption. And redemption has two sides to it. Redemption is not just saving souls, but also destroying the works of Satan. (1 John 3:8) If you don’t care about God’s method in the destruction of evil, then you need to start caring. Luke did. John the Baptist did. Luke was a Christian. His commentary on John the Baptist is telling (Luke 3:18). His interpretation of John’s exhortations directed at various groups or departments of a God created institution (government) in his nation (like the military and like tax-gathers) was that John was preaching the gospel to them. Telling a small part of an institution, like the military, how to act can be a matter of preaching the gospel. Tell the IRS to not collect more than authorized and you are preaching the gospel to them. It's not the full gospel, but like Luke concluded, its the gospel.
