"Close To You" on the talkbox. Beat, vocals by Daniel Riera; Guitar, Christian Hernandez; Camera, Max Miller-Loran.
Dawg this was back in 06’? This beat is fucking fire, please make a studio cover version of this it’s amazing
The original was back in the 1970s which makes this even crazier. Stevie was a genius.
@@Gjax400Stevie's beat is different from this. This is a clear original cover.
No, I wanted to take Stevie's idea and update it, put my spin on it.
ok
Seeing this in 2023 and this is 🔥🔥🔥

@@kawannnnnnn yeah
Took my algorithm 16 years to suggest this 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Took mine 17. 😢
"Just like me..." you were probably longing for Stevie to finish the song so you did it yourself. Thank you, you did a great job. It was funky, innovative, a groovalicious!!
What's up fella, how is life going?
@@AdrianHernandez-ul4qj how's Iife for you?
Man as soon as I heard the last 5 seconds of the Frank Ocean song, a flood of memories of 10 years ago came back!! This video is OG youtube.
Same here!
But the sample on Ocean's new album is actually from Stevie back in the 70's.
Word
Why would memories come back from this video. The whole song by Frank was a tribute to Stevie Wonder and all the samples are from him as well
And it’s a cover of a song originally by The Carpenters.
This is so old in the landscape of youtube and it holds up so well.
Talk box is the most underrated appliance in the making of music
How the fuck is this 2006
This is amazing, legit almost perfect behind stevie's.
I’d say this is perfect in its own way differing from Stevie’s
all these years and still no replies from this guy lol. I been listening to this since 2007. back when he was Kronchy
nvm. I will be purchasing the song later today lol .thanks man. This song takes me back. love it.
Sorry Randy! I don't check youtube that much. Thanks for purchasing the song and enjoying!
I was about to share this to a page with thousands of members who would have loved this. I'm gonna pass since you dont give a shit enough to look at the comments that people are nice enough to leave you.
Re-read this comment thread. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Top notch!!! Good cover of the Carpenter's song and great cover of Stevie's version.
13yrs later still goes hard
Much Love and Respect Ma Brutha.
I was 14 when I first heard this... so many years later and I keep coming back

Yeah Roger is the best ever! But he has been dead for a while (R.I.P.) but no one big has picked up the talk box in a while so... you gotta have respect for these guys and this sounds pretty dam good!
i cold watch this all day everydaaaaaay hahahahhaaaaa.
This is so sick man
smooth as silk. The beat is hypnotic.
i want one of those.
Still one of my favourite videos on TH-cam ever, thank you for this
If you'd put the tube in the corner of the mouth it wouldn't sound like a lisp. :)
yeah that beat is dope, i widh i could GET a beat like that from somewhere
still listening years later

Dude, Being a fan of the whole talkbox/vocoder movement... I have to say; This version is ill!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSS
2018???
dude, this is pretty damn good man. kudos to you and the people that play with you. i have no idea why people wouldn't like this. not at all. possibly 40 people don't like your facial expression while you sing? musicians feel it. you feel it. no doubt.
THIS IS SO UNDERRATED
8 years..
Cathryn Tsui 11 now, time flies
Chaotix almost 14 now damn
This is still beautiful dammit.
thank you algorithm. this is fire dude
whew, thought this audio was completely lost 🙏🏾
i saw it’s not on your bandcamp anymore 😢
nice
I agree... The tube would be better off in a corner of your mouth rather than in the middle where you kinda lose all clarity. Just my experience. ;-) Other than that, nice cover. Did you make the instru as well?
you are awesome. great rendition. can i doanload it somewhere?
Yeah...what everybody said about the placement of the tube is true. But that track is nice. Doing a Stevie tune on the talkbox is a good idea...hmmm (scratching temple)
Hardest shit on TH-cam
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! EVEN IN 2021
oh my god
2020???
Eu ai 2023
Going outside the key on the "sprinkled moondust I-N your hair", to the E natural on the IN, is very tasty
I included this in my video project in school
Been lIstening for years as well. Looking for the cover of this did you ever release it?
Bro did you compose this beat? I'm sure Ryan Leslie has used this for inspiration for "maybachs and diamonds"
Ye Robo is right This is the best video other than the one with stevie singing this with a talkbox but if you held your tube in the side of your mouth it would be easier for you and it would probably sound nicer. This is beautiful, a very nice choice for a song too.
Any talkbox should be compatible with your keyboard. It's just a standard 1/4 inch audio cable input.
I recommend the Rocktron Banshee--I believe that's what he's using.
Cool video, by the way! :-)
I don't like cover at all
But this one it's really something else, i totally love this.
This has been a decade and still the best cover...
Much respect to this guy! Dude is straight up rockin' it! ( ^ _ ^ )
This beat is SICK! You really should make a recorded version of that with a great sound quality so I could listen to this all day long! Good job and long live the talkbox! Peace!
This must of been the hardest video on the internet 14 years ago
everyone is demanding a recorded version 15 years later...@daniel?
Link in the description
Hey I posted the Stevie Wonder version of this song and I think homeboy did a great version of this song. I never thought people would have responded as much as they have from my little clip. Keep putting it down on the box my man.
Bro this is amazing! 17 years ago?! I'm surprised this wasn't one of the early viral videos of the 2000s
Me ha encantado ver tu version de esta cancion. Te felicito y espero poder disfrutar de otras canciones tuyas aqui. Siga inspirandose.
Un abrazo desde Panama.
I think it does not matter who inspired him... this is a dope song. this is THE FACT.
Jesus loves you
Omy! This is amazing! I love this!!!! February 13 2017 anyone?
2020
that's the way it's done homie...even stevie wonder does it like that!!
16 years later, why is this in my recommendations?? lmao, love it though
if Stevie wonder didn’t have a hard time pressing his keys having to read his Braille , it would sound like this
u were fucking cooking with this one
this is freekin awesome!!!!! lol at first i was like wt* lol but duuuude its awesome lol
すごい…。それ以外の言葉が出ないです。ありがとう。
Show out to Stevie wonder and Frank ocean
I come back to this video every year it’s great
Frank Ocean sampled Stevie Wonder sampled the Carpenters
The Carpenters are the true OG's
1. Stevie Wonder covered the song he didn't "sample" it
2. the carpender's didnt even write the song
I mean covering is different than sampling, but these days, specially in the genre of music that Frank Ocean does, those two words are pretty similar. During Stevie Wonders time both terms were more disctinct
maybe to your dumb ass they are similar but they are completely different.
No... They're still completely different.
True OG is Burt Bacharach, do your research please
man after hearing stevie wonder do this its hard to listen to something else.. i think it would be better a little slower. really like it though maybe im just more used to stevie's version
You should record this in the booth man! saw this 5years ago and it still gets play
Nice, son!
Wow! You are extremely good! You should post some more Talk box videos for sure!
@CraigDirty No other word to descibe it, Chromeo brought the talkbox back? Did it go somewhere? Or you mean, Chromeo brought it to the mainstream.
I'm just here waiting before this explodes
Years later this song still slaps , would be nice to get an updated version.
This is treasure on the internet
bro what a hidden gem
I need an Instrumental!! :D
