Working security in Reno for years taught me that the presence of a camera, even on a phone will often set the homeless off. It plays into thier delusions of being watched.
People need to realize that Las Vegas is its own planet at this point. A wild town with a ton of amazing people, and a few bad apples. If you are looking to go out to clubs, The strip can be an experience but it can be super expensive. The nightlife scene around Downtown/Fremont is truly amazing. The local scene is really dope. Just be aware of your surroundings and those around you. Thanks for the amazing videos and congratulations on your continued success, Pompsie. ❤🙏
Over 20 yrs ago, I bought a cone of ice cream at Downtown casino for $5 by paying with $50 bill. The bill went into the cash register so fast and when I asked for $45 change, I was told it"s $5 bill. On the Strip, I bought an average size apple for $3 by paying with a $20 bill. Once again, I was told it's a $5 bill and received $2 change. On the cab ride, the driver refused to return the $15 change. That was my last trip to Sin City.
My top 5. 1. Denny’s shooting scare 2. No ac at Luxor after spending 4 hours changing rooms. Got told we could get fan if we wanted. 3. Had lights turned off on me and locked inside the gym at Aria because the guy was angry 4. View of brick wall at mgm grand…. Demanded a room change or I wouldn’t leave the lobby. Ended up getting a bigger room though. 5. Was in traffic in front of Circus Circus in taxi. Guy gets out of car next to us and fired gunshots at someone. The guys on the st fires back…. Yeah. It was insane.
Pompsie, im personally glad you kept both cosmo videos up on your channel. Because realistically if you did not make a video your cosmo days would be over. I respect them for making up for it tho, that suite was siick! Great vid!
I remember most of these things happening, exception being the water one. Best part of this video....Pompsie recording with a view of a video of Pompsie in the background. Gotta love it!! Hey Peppi!!
Omg thank you for making this video because I needed to hear all this. Last week my boyfriend and I went to Vegas, it was my fourth time and I was so excited to show him my favorite place in the world for the first time and I wanted him to love it too. On our second day there we were walking towards fashion show from Resorts World and this homeless guy screamed at us and I could tell there was going to be an issue. Long story short we got stuck with him at the crosswalk and he threatened to fight us, after we crossed the street he chucked his full beer at us barely missing us. I feel like that ruined our trip for the most part and really made me feel differently about the place. But thinking back on it there's so much to love about this place and this one incident shouldn't alter how I feel. Side note there needs to be more security or police on the actual strip though. This didn't just happen to us on the trip, it happened to multiple other groups of people that we saw as well.
As a former security guard I met alot of homeless people who always have some level of mental illness. One thing I learned is that when they get angry and start threatening others, its usually to someone they think is harmless to them. So now if any of them come near me I don't say a word and just get ready to defend myself while giving them the "I'll kill you" look. One look at me and they know I am ready for whatever comes my way. That usually intimidates them enough to back off.
Street people are in every major city in the U.S.A. They can be a real problem. I have gone to conventions in other cities (Kansas City, KS, Dallas, Miami) and the same thing has been reported to me from others. Please do not down grade Vegas because of a few bad apples.
Very cool video Pompsie. I have been going to Las Vegas for over 20yrs now and have advice that has kept me safe for all those years. Stay in well traveled areas only and always secure your valuables at all times even when watching all the outdoor shows as well. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
My mother gave me the best advice when I was a kid in school through HS. She always said if there is a fight walk the other way. Never get involved never watch. Somehow you’ll get in the middle of it. She was so right. As usual. I always walked the other way. Nothing to see. No reason to watch kids beating each other up. And I never had a problem. I taught my son the same thing. Inevitably if you watch a fight somehow someway someone will take offense.
3. Never stay and watch a fight: important inner city rule. Emotions are too high. I’ve seen people shot as a result of being close to a fight. That being said, I went to Vegas in June and it was pretty “hot”… meaning people were tight, angry. Be careful out there.
I was there in June, and July, and the people were all very cool and happy. Yes, if you go to the bad areas, you'll find people angry and agitated as you found in the inner city. But tourists don't go to the inner city of Vegas. On the Strip and downtown Fremont, everyone was relaxed and happy. I think most of the people on the Strip are Californians like me, so very relaxed and enjoying being on vacation. Even the police that were walking were laughing and talking with everyone and helping them with directions. Only problem I saw all those days and nights was one time the police moved off a homeless man who was yelling. David Suggs, stay just on the Strip next time you're in Vegas.
I visited Vegas from 1995 to 2004, sometimes spending 6 months at time. Walked the strip many times, both during the day and late at night (3:00 am). Never saw a fight, never was propositioned by women. Vegas is wild...but not THAT wild.
Glad your back in Vegas! One of these days I’ll get back to have fun! Your video was informational on how to be careful in Las Vegas! I think you have to be careful anywhere these days!
Next time you’re in a club that charges for water just tell him that you have to take some medication ASAP and to just give you some tapwater. , they have to by law or they could be sued.
I have had 3 of those things happen to me in Vegas. Taxi Longhauling from the airport to hotel and homeless guy cursing and following me on a over cross bridge.
Funny, I never met you guys personally, but found myself worried about you guys on your trip. Just that you'd be safe. And seriously so glad you guys made it home safely.
The four of us were walking, about 3:30pm in the Fremont district. I guy pulling his suitcase, plowed through us screaming: "Get out of the way!!!!" and just busted through us. We tried to move away, but my foot got caught on a wheel of his suitcase and it spun around. He thought I did it deliberately and started screaming and swearing at us, telling us what he would do wo us. We just stood there and said nothing. We were pretty shocked. We tried not to look at him. Eventually, considering he didn't get us to respond to him, just walked away. He was a fairly young guy. I won't tell you anything more about him, but I'll leave it up to you to "fill in the blanks." Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
Wow this has to be the best video of Vegas worst experience I ever seen. That homeless guy attack was scary. Glad you escaped safely. Even more interesting is that it was captured on camera. This video has made me be more careful next time I come to Vegas. Thanks for sharing this with us pompsie.
When being run at from behind, Stop, Drop, and Turn. Let them trip over you. Their attitude changes quick with a face full of sidewalk. Casually walk over to them as they start to get up, than lower yourself by bending at the knees to get to their level, and give them a shot to the eye with your fist. Now they are temporarily blinded and disoriented. Fights over. Collect your friend and walk away at your leisure.
I’ve been to Vegas from Australia many times my worst experience was the Las Vegas massacre, we were on the southern end of the strip when the shooting started. I was with my wife and daughter and we got separated. It didn’t stop me coming back however I have been back twice since. Absolutely love Vegas
Pompsie -thanks for the insight you give fellow travelers. i remember the Cosmo incident and that was bothersome but I'm glad they made things right. I will be back in Vegas in a few days, so I may pay them a visit. Please be safe, and remember when you get in a cab, if you feel you are being scammed, you have the right to call the TaxiCab authority. You should be able to see the drivers credentials that should be posted for the passenger to see. This info is not just for Vegas cab drivers but any city you travel in.
Hey Pompsie I gotta share mine. My gf and I tried a very highly rated coffee shop on the north west side. We both ordered mochas and at the end we asked for whip cream. She looked me dead in the face and said “um, it’s for dogs” in the most amazingly sincere way.
My worst experience in Vegas is routinely going home empty handed after giving all my money to the one armed bandits aka slot machines 😂! Thanks for the video and glad y’all made it back to Vegas safely.
My five worst experiences in Las Vegas, Circus Circus, the alto bar in Caesars, paying a resort fee at most hotels, Fremont Street, The shops at Crystals
I paid Uber 62 dollars on a Friday night from Golden Nugget to Planet Hollywood. They call it surge pricing. During the day the same ride was 12 dollars. I was in Vegas for 10 nights and spent about 500 on Uber. Despite the price gouging it was very efficient and cut down on distances I had to walk. Rideshare was not allowed because of the pandemic.
I got "tunneled" by a cab driver one trip and got charged like 50 bucks....also stayed at Harrahs once and they put me next to the dumb bar thats next to it and I couldn't sleep for 3 days and they refused to change my room. Other than that I usually have a good trip. Love/probably addicted to Las Vegas.
Hey Pompsie, I'm not sure if you'll read this but I frequently visit Vegas on average of 4 times per year and after seeing your blurry video of the homeless guy running at you while you were on the scooter, it was immediately clear to me that this is the exact same homeless guy who tried to attack me in Vegas while I was walking by too. In my case, about one year ago I was walking from the Wynn to that Walgreens near Venetian and I was on that long stretch of sidewalk directly in front of Palazio. As I was walking down the sidewalk towards Venetian, that same crazy homeless guy was walking in the opposite direction coming from the Venetian side going towards Wynn. Similar to you, I was not looking at him. Right before we crossed paths, he suddenly lunged at me for absolutely no reason with both fists in the air yelling like a total maniac and right at the last minute, I jumped backwards and barely jumped out of his way or else I, too, would have been attacked. I'm about 6"5 much bigger than you, and I was shocked and angered by the experience. I looked around and of course, there were no cops or patrol people in the area. Seeing your account and relating it to mine, this is clearly the case of a crazy homeless guy trying to scare people and give them really bad experiences. Based on the pattern and similar movements in our experiences, I honestly do not think his intention is anything more. I'm really sorry this happened to you and if anything, your bad run-in with this guy is a testament to your journeys all over Vegas. In other words, you haven't fully experienced Vegas until you have a run in with this wacko! lol
My 1st trip to Vegas it took me 30 minutes in a cab from Excalibur to Fremont street. I had a great tour of the Interstate. The trip back took about 10. Apparently the 1st driver made a few extra bucks. Side story, Fremont st gets really sketchy after midnight.
I know this is an old comment, but yes it absolutely does. My heads always on a swivel there. Usually when you’re actively watching, the ones who’d prey on the unsuspecting ones can pick up on your defensive energy, and usually avoid you. I just have my hand on my pepper spray or box cutter, and I constantly am looking. It gets complicated when you’re walking with a group, especially when they’re far from observant.
My wife and I had a similar experience with a homeless guy at the strip mall just south of Miracle Mile. He would creep up behind us, and then back up every time I turned around. At one point, he got close enough that I could feel his breath on my neck. I really thought I was going to have to fight him. I'm a big guy and I can handle myself, but I've never enjoyed fighting. And now that I'm in my 40s, I can't imagine that the post-fight aches and pains would be fun. Thankfully, he finally knocked it off, but it was no fun at all.
Had a drunk guy try to beat down our room door once at the Park MGM (it was the Monte Carlo then). All he could do was babble incoherently, he had a bag from Subway, and he had apparently crapped all over himself. Had to call security to come and get him. I think they ended up sending him back over to the MGM Grand. LOL
The apology is worthless. The only reason they did it is to save face since you made a viral youtube video. The Cosmopolitan treats their guests horribly and their staff are extremely rude. I've stayed there twice and had issues both times. I'll never return there again.
1:29 That was on livestream, she was telling you that she couldn't make change for $40, which you didn't seem to understand. So when you handed her $40, she thought you were giving her the extra as a tip (because she didn't have any smaller bills to give back to you.)
This is a lie some bartenders say to make extra tips, especially in a busy club/bar. They have MORE then enough singles in their tips to break bills and make change. There are no forty dollar bills so at the very least they were charging over 20 dollars for a single bottle of water, that's disgusting. And for bar staff to claim they don't have any change is ridiculous, I worked in this very industry for over 30 years.
Coming in this weekend...let's keep the bad mojo away LOL. You and Greta getting out and about? Father Daughter wkend...excited. Would love to run into you two. Enjoy the vlogs.
He has said he's doing a 10 hour livestream this Saturday. Follow the stream to see where he is if you want to meet them. They love meeting their fans.
Hello Pompsie We are going to Las Vegas in May and rent a car from Turo And we have booked in Springhill suites. Is that a good choice? Greetings Gert from the Netherlands
Lmaoooo you’ve had some experience’s Pompsie! I’m glad you turned out okay with those 2 altercations, with those two crazy people. We go to Vegas often, since we’re only 4 hours away and we have yet to encounter any crazy events. Finger crossed 🤞. Thanks for sharing Pomps!
Ty for video good info as usual. Now about the ad I understand why you placed it but just be aware that those of us that pay premium for no ads expect no ads. 😊
I've had a lot of great experiences in Las Vegas over the years but in 2017 I had my worst. I just bought a new car and was driving down Tropicana BL when I saw someone throw something out of the corner of my eye and then heard a thunk. I stopped at the next parking lot and looked and saw half a brick punched through my front bumper. Even though I got a good deal on the repairs, it still costed $600.
BROOO the same thing happened to me!! From the airport to Paris Hotel The meter went from like $17 to $40 all of a sudden Then he had the audacity to ask me if he can keep the change ($50 bill)
We have had the same with Taxi, but also have found the wonderful in Taxi's also.....basically have used uber or lift "price up front" .....the homeless can be very dangerous, do not go off Fremont ALONE, and Fights Sad
Thumbs up for today's incredible thumbnail 🤥 😂😂😂😂👍🏿
I really like hearing crazy Vegas stories, so this episode was right up my alley. What acute kitty! Thanks for taking him in :)

LOL
Great informative vid
That explains why I saw ambulances called to the club at mirage all the time. Ppl passing out from the water scam. Nice of them.
Good Stuff Chris !
I signed up for a year of Surfshark under your code thank you!!! Love you and Greta!!! 💜
Those were excellent points!!!! Pls post more.
WELCOME BACK Greta & Pompsie!
Crazy stories !thanks for sharing
ohhhhhh I luv your cat...who would abandon such a gorgeous animal...I also like your videos.
These homeless are getting brave, Nevada has alot of people that conceal carry a firearm. Just throwing that out there.
They have nothing to lose, so sometimes they are very bold.
The apology is worthless. The only reason they did it is to save face since you made a viral youtube video. The Cosmopolitan treats their guests horribly and their staff are extremely rude. I've stayed there twice and had issues both times. I'll never return there again.
I remember the taxi scam on the live stream
yeahhh that was lame :(
1:29 That was on livestream, she was telling you that she couldn't make change for $40, which you didn't seem to understand.
@@karldammann talking about cab ride
@@kathyweber6844I thought you were talking about that 40 dollar water , my bad lol!
Ah... I've had that same taxi experience in a couple countries where I didn't know the language... Indonesia and Korea. Really rotten!
You're the man bro.. 💯
In Australia they have to give you a free tap water if your in a bar. I tend to order a beer and a water after drinking a few. Stops the hangovers
I had the same experience at 1Oak. I had drank to much red bull and was feeling jittery and begged for water. they would only give me a cup of ice.
Ridiculous. Doesn't ice melt into water? 🙄
@@shonta right! My older son was yelling don’t pay $10 for rain. Lol
Lol! Someone had a great suggestion. Tell them you need some water to take your medications. By law they have to give you water.
Would you review boutique hotels in Vegas?
Thank you for saving that beautiful felines life
Ty for video good info as usual. Now about the ad I understand why you placed it but just be aware that those of us that pay premium for no ads expect no ads. 😊
The ads you pay for are TH-cam generated, not a vlogger's. I don't pay premium so TH-cam throws in ads in middle of vids.
where did you get those sunglasses from I LOVE THEM.
Wow. Wild!
BROOO the same thing happened to me!! From the airport to Paris Hotel
The meter went from like $17 to $40 all of a sudden
Then he had the audacity to ask me if he can keep the change ($50 bill)
I’ve taken tons of taxis in Vegas and thats never happened to me. I always pay meter amount and it’s usually pretty low rate
Hey brotha always carry a pepper spray or taser i recommend it.
I saw a vlog where the room had $11 water.
Awesome 👏🏽 video
We have had the same with Taxi, but also have found the wonderful in Taxi's also.....basically have used uber or lift "price up front" .....the homeless can be very dangerous, do not go off Fremont ALONE, and Fights Sad
Hows vegas right now? I'm going down the end of September. Jus wondering if things are getting shut down because of covid.
Vegas clubs always have me at the bathroom sink cupping my hands… lol
I'm coming to Las Vegas in October and I hope we meet up.
Totally true. Hydrate!
