Clive Woodward ran a personal campaign against Eddie to get his mates on the RFU board to fire Eddie and get Bothwick promoted to England coach. I hope he’s happy.
Well he may or may not have run a personal campaign against Eddie Jones that's debatable, however the idea that he had any influence on Jones sacking is ignorant nonsense, Jones bears most if not all the responsibility for his sacking, firstly the results over the last 2 years weren't remotely good enough and the contempt that he showed to anyone else who questioned his selections and tactics was embarrassing to witness and annoyed many in the game. You can be strong in what you believe without being disrespectful to former players pundits and journalists alike .
I think under Eddie there will be tough times for some players who might not be up for what is to come. The alternative for the players who are not up to the challenge will be to play elsewhere. The Wallabies over several years generally have improved as individuals but as a team have had too many defeats from the jaws of victory.
Rennie won 2 super rugby titles, and if Australia had have kicked the ball out, things might have been different. Rennie was building a good side, Jones left an absolute mess
@@fredperry523 I'm not talking about his early years. He ran out of ideas and then they stating losing a lot towards the end. His career my have a good stat but the last couple of years were going backwards.
Didn't old Eddie do a great job, ummm I should say an amazing job in the World Cup something that Aussie must be so proud of him. I mean to say even though he took off so fast with the money he was given by the ARU without a thank you, you just gotta take your hat off to fast track Eddie aye Eddie just take the money and run. Well letting Dave go maybe ARU did him a favour, well come on ARU if Aussies want a Aussie coach don't use Kiwi's as scapegoats.
A coach is only as good as his players, EJ is way overrated. His good but so are many other coaches out there like Ireland and France coach? Maybe EJ can still get a World cup. I will be very surprised though...
Yer but it’s the fact that Eddie has had success with many different teams and different players. The Irish coach farrel famously was part of the coaching team which lead England to the 2015 World Cup failure, galthie oversaw one of the worst toulon teams in history… every coach has success and failure no matter how good. Eddie took Australia , South Africa and England to World Cup finals, got japanes first ever win over SA, won super rugby with the Brumbies. Eddie has had enough success over 20 years with many different teams and different player qualities. He’s rightly rated as a very good coach.
Eddie Jones has the highest percentage winning ratio of any England coach. The fact that England did not win the world cup in 2019 is because they were beaten by a superior team and players. John Mitchell warned the England team but the players were just not up to the task. Unfortunately the same happened in 2007 under a British coach Brian Ashton for that matter and England were beaten soundly 'twice' by the same team. Australia always do well at the RWC and I will not be surprised if they advance to the semi finals in Paris under Eddie Jones.

@@neilcarpenter2669 Woodward wants to protect his legacy, he cannot afford another English coach taking this, getting Borth in was a master stroke.
@@DrAAAli What a ridiculous comment, whatever Woodward's faults they don't include wanting England to fail that's for sure.

Well said he also liked to name call and when he was spoken to about it he said it was just a joke a laugh horrible person
Good to get a mature and balanced reflection on Eddie J
Eddie's been around. Knows his stuff. Has the personel to cause problems for opponents. Going to be 👍.
He is the greatest Aussie coach. The last time the wallabies were good was under Eddie, and I'm a bloody Kiwi.
It was a great decision for Australia 😂

George Gregan can't say what he really thinks about Eddie Jones.
From sboks support...
Ausies will climb the leader and england will down the leader....JW is nothing EJ won 2007 wc for us....
England started to lose a lot of matches under Edward. Nuff said, he had to go.
Jones winning ratio for England was 73%. Borthwick's winning ratio is 50% and will drop to 40% on the 18th March.

If we go by your logic, "a coach is only as good as his players", then EJ should be considered a legend for what he did for Japanese rugby alone.

@Fred Perry The last RWC was a Mexican Standoff. There are no winners in a Mexican standoff
