    All you needed to say was that cute anime girls were in the game and I was sold! :P
    But great job on this episode Jimmy, I haven't dabbled in a lot of Beat'em Up games besides the standards of the genre (Double Dragon, River City Ransom, TMNT games and Final Fight), but this looks like a good game that delivers a different type of beat'em up game, especially considering it's single player, one day this will be in my hands, because anime girls can sell me on anything XD

    My favorite arcade style beatem up happens to also be my all time fav game Advance Guardian Heroes. Not only can you unlock every enemy you encounter to use in Training or vs mode, but you can play as any of the enemies in the Story mode. Shame a lot of folks thought AGH was gonna be a rehash of the Saturn game, but it is completely original and I like it very much.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      stringanime Advance Guardian Heroes is your all-time favorite game, eh? Surprising, you might be the only one since it's a game that is off most people's radars these days, even those who are big fans of the Saturn original or HD remaster. I spent hours and hours when I was in high school playing the original Guardian Heroes, but only played a bit of the GBA sequel, maybe about an hour or so.

    • @stringanime
      @stringanime 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      As weird as it may seem, I have even spent a good amount of time in training mode with 4 MPCs all fighting each other set to random character select and random stage with all stats maxed out. That mode will endlessly play. After every fight it just shows off the winner and starts another random round. loops forever automatically...Don't know how many games can boast to have an endless all mpc fight that requires no human interaction except to set up the first fight. I've let it run for several hours when I just want noise in the background. Little things like that are interesting to me.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      stringanime It might be interesting setting that up on the Wii U gamepad if AGH ever gets a Virtual Console release.

    This is something that I could see myself playing, so I may have to look for it next time I'm on a SuFami kick. Seems like it'd be fun, the lack of co-op is a bit of a let down, but this is the kind of game that I'd probably end up playing by myself anyway, so it's not a deal breaker for me.
    Good episode, Jimmy. I'll keep my eyes out for this, also nice job with the new logo. It looks a lot nicer than the old one.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! If you can find the cart for ten or fifteen bucks, I'd say go for it! Lack of coop is disappointing, but I suppose that in the end, BZD is not all that much more "boring" than playing any other beat 'em up solo...
      I appreciate the input on the logo. It was about time I did something about it, since that was originally just a placeholder. I figured that I spent so much time editing images to use in my videos, it's embarrassing having a plain text logo on the thumbnail! XP

    Great Video as always man. This game looks amazing. Kinda reminds me a little bit of Ninja Warriors for the SNES. They share a very similar Beat em up-style. Could you please tell me, from which game the song is, that is playing at Minute 1:00 in the Backround? This sounds amazing!

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      schweinefeigel Thank you, as usual! I've only played a little bit of a Ninja Warriors game (that would be Ninja Warriors Again for SFC), and from what I remember, it was a really fun game...maybe a little better than Battle Zeque Den. ;)That song is from a boss battle from this game...the second one, I believe. I always use music directly from the games I cover for the entirety of my videos, unless stated otherwise in the description. ;)This game has awesome music, and looking back on it, I wish I would have explained that in the video.

      Jimmy Hapa (Import Gaming FTW!) Ninja Warriors is my favorite single-plane brawler. This game does remind me of it somewhat, though there seems to be more topography/environmental hazards. NWs is also single player only. I'm putting this game on my list.

      CAPMAX Gaming Thanks for watching man, and I'm glad you bought the game. I'd say $15 is a fair price for the game. • @ImportGamingFTW

      That's the Pretty Cure game for DS--I can't remember the exact name, but it's something with Splash Star in it. Surprisingly decent beat 'em up (for little girls). I wanted to talk about Melfand Stories, but I missed the boat on finding a decent complete copy of the game a few years back--plus, Retro Drew on TH-cam did a fine job talking about it already.

    This looks rad, kinda reminds me of the power rangers game for the SNES since it's a beat em up on a single plane. Looks nice graphically too.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      DubiousGamingOnline I think the only Power Rangers game I played on the SNES was a fighting game...maybe that was the movie one? I just remember I didn't like it...maybe I need to watch Matt's Power Rangers vids again.And yeah, the graphics are nice in this game, but they're oddly "washed out" compared to a lot of other SNES games, if that makes sense. I had to play around with the contrast and color balance of the original captures to get them to look as nice as they do here.

    • @DubiousGamingOnline
      @DubiousGamingOnline 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SNES MMPR was a beat em up except for the last 3 levels which were in the same fighting engine as ultraman for the SNES. The same week that matt did his first big MMPR review i did one on the SNES but i quickly go over all the versions in the intro of that video.

    Nice review! I live in Japan, so I was able to find this game fairly easily. However, I have owned it for over a year now and have yet to get around to playing it. You also piqued my interest in the Futari Wa Precure DS game. The first series of Precure characters is the only decent one IMHO.

      +stevethefishdotnet Nice, hope you've played it since making this comment! That Pretty Cure game is sweet--I sold my copy years ago, but found another a couple of months ago for 950 yen at a Book-Off. I've seen it at Tsutaya as well for under 1000 yen. Hope you find a copy soon.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Hey--yes I have, actually, and I enjoy the V.G. series! Speaking of which, waaaaaay back when I was planning this IGFTW show, one of the episodes I wanted to do was "All Girls Fighting Games," including a couple of the Variable Geo games, Pretty Fighter games, and the Asuka Burning Fest games. :)I think if I covered Advanced Variable Geo 1, I'd go with the Saturn version, since I believe the PS1 has cut content (though I like the PS1 better for most games, actually).

    • @hadoke
      @hadoke 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I played the Saturn version had some more…risqué content in it over the PS1 version the series did start out as a hentai fighting series but it had way more polish then say garbage like strip fighter 2. I would go so far as to say AVG 2 stacks up pretty well compared to what capcom and SNK had out at the time, Also Asuka Burning Fest games where created by the same team from what I heard.

    • @ImportGamingFTW
      @ImportGamingFTW  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Yeah, there's the infamous "yellow label" for Advance V.G. on Saturn. Won't have to worry about cut content with the sequel, however, since it's PS1 only. ;)I don't know if it's the same team that worked on the Asuka Burning Fest games, but I'll do some research into it. And I never played Strip Fighter 2, but its awfulness is legendary at this point. XD

    • @hadoke
      @hadoke 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's ether the creator of VG went on to make the burning fest series with a different team or it's the same team but I know one of those is true.
