  • Pakistan is a country that is hard to understand, but Arslan Zahid Khan writes about it in an interesting and engaging way.
In this book review, we'll take a look at Pakistan A Hard Country and see why it's so worth reading. Arslan Zahid Khan does an excellent job of describing Pakistan in a way that is both accessible and insightful. Whether you're unfamiliar with Pakistan or just want to know more, this book is a great way to start.

"Pakistan: A Hard Country" is the title.
    Written by Anatol Lieven
An in-depth and nuanced overview of Pakistan, its history, politics, society, and culture is presented in the extensive book "Pakistan: A Hard Country" by Anatol Lieven. Lieven, a respected academic and writer, uses his considerable research, in-depth interviews, and personal observations to create a thorough portrait of Pakistan as a complex and multidimensional nation experiencing many difficulties.
The book explores a number of facets of Pakistani society, such as the impact of the military establishment, ethnic tensions, religious diversity, and tribal dynamics. As part of his analysis of Pakistan's political scene, Lieven also looks at the importance of democracy, the role of the military in politics, and the difficulties of governance. Insights into Pakistan's economy, education system, justice system, and foreign policy are provided by the author.

Sir should I read this book for Pakistan affairs as I am reading currently Trek to PAKISTAN? Besides this, Can we give the references of this book while attempting the pakistan affairs paper or Essay? As you said that this book was written and published in 2011 which has now been outdated, yet should go to read this book in order to understand the cultural ,political and past dynamic history of Pakistan. I am a css aspirant.

Sir,Pakistan is a small new islamic country, with 2 salient issues.
1.It is trying to redefine islam and take on the mantle of ummah like Turikye.
    2. It is focussed on india day in day out 24×7.

Rename Pakistan Army. There used to be another very similar organisation called East India Company. They too were a profit orientated very large business, with lots of armed men, and a country to exploit. Let us show hands. Who is for the name change?
