McDermott Aviation Bell 214B Fire Fighting Helicopters in Greece (Air Transportation from Australia)

The four Bell 214-Β1 helicopters of McDermott Aviation leased from MYTILINEOS Company for 60 days with total cost of 3,3 million euro, as an offer to the Greece state.
The four helicopters arrived at Athens on 14 August 2021 with Antonov An-124-100 of Volga-Dnepr Airlines Ruslan with registration RA-82047.
The flight was VDA-5068 with the following route:
12 Aug 2021 Toowoomba (WTB) - Perth (PER)
13 Aug 2021 Perth (PER) - Colombo (CMB)
14 Aug 2021 Colombo (CMB) - Athens (ATH)
The registrations of the four Bell 214-Β1 helicopters are:

N216PJ (number 676)
N217PJ (number 677)
N1073W (number 678)

The Bell 214 helicopter was ordered by the Iranian army in the 1970s
after Iran bought 25 Bell 205s these helicopters were not good for the mountains of Iran, and Iran wanted a helicopter with a powerful engine, which ordered 300 Bell 214A, and 35 Bell 214C and also ordered a special helicopter for special forces, which was Bell 214st,
but Iran did not receive the 214st after the revolution, and Bell Company sold all the 214st helicopters of Iran to the Saddam.
bell 214B is only civilian type of 214 Helicopters

These things are real beasts! Had the U.S. Army not had the UH-60 Black Hawk baking in the oven back in the 1970s, we would have probably seen them upgrade their fleet of UH-1H Hueys to this standard. And considering that many UH-1H models soldiered on into the late 1990s or early 2000s in Guard units, the upgrade may have been worth it anyway. The bigger engine, rotor and improved transmission used in the Bell 214 offered an enormous leap in performance over the 205.
