one of my favorites. simple game after all, i ended up beating the game regularly with little effort. but nice sound, graphics, imaginery and also had a humorous endgame
Never played the arcade version and never even saw it, but I wished I would have. Surprised to see the final levels were added for the home ports, I was expecting them here.
kids wouldn't even know how to exploit this in the 80s, i bet no kid would even get this far, the player here had a emulator and is an adult, smart enough to take his/her time to play it methodically
from rambo first blood, rambo jumps from the tree and stabs the guy...the boss death is from conan the barbarian where arnie gores the guy with the trap and the civillian getting stomped sound is from rambo again but were galt falls from the helicopter but i'm not sure where the first enemy you kill gets his death sound from...anyone know???
Was this set to easy mode or something? I don't remember so few enemies, and I don't remember being able to keep the dragon for the final battle, which makes it seem really easy.
I just remember being a kid when this game came out there was no internet to look it up. Me and my friend fought over who got to be the dwarf because he had the golden axe. We also thought he did the most damage and best reach( i kinda still do) For awhile We thought the game was named after his axe.
You mean the Genesis/Mega Drive version. It was longer. After Death Adder you had a very hard level in some sort of dungeon where you had to fight a green reskin of Death Adder.
I used to beat this game on one credit, one life stack. I did things very differently to this guy.... I toyed with my enemies.... The only part I found difficult was the riding on the back of the eagle and the skeleton spawns... when they ganged up on me and both hit me with their shield attacks.... I was fucked.

Ahh good old Golden Axe... first game I ever knew of that actually had the bodies of the fallen stay instead of disappearing like so many other games.
