Just beat Shinobi Arcade version, I have to say it is one of the greatest arcade games ever made and still holds up well to this day. This game is basically a sequel to Shinobi Arcade, but there are too many problems with it. It has the right idea, trying to just be Shinobi but with better graphics and a dog. However, the gritty graphics make things pop out less and more hard to focus on the extremely precise and fast paced strategic gameplay the game has, for instance it's harder to see projectiles, this makes it more frustrating in a bad way. Also the level design is just extremely obnoxious, it doesn't feel as fun and strategic as Shinobi, I feel like they had less time to make this game and go through testing.
+BenjamminClark I agree with you 100%. The characters in Shinobi seemed to fit with the ninja theme better as well. It seems in Shadow Dancer, most of your enemies look either like street thugs or mutants. Shinobi, they were ninja's samurai and military soldiers. (Shadow Dancer looks like he has a pot belly too!) Also, I noticed how the controls in Shadow Dancer seem very stiff like you mentioned. Shinobi is far better IMO..

You are almost right. The organisation is called "Asian Dawn" and their goal is to hijack the Space Shuttle (It is called Olympia BTW), in order to use it to launch a nuclear attack via satellites. So when it launches in the ending sequence, it is not a bad ending that the bad guys got away by any means, but that the launch was a safe one.
