These could easily become marketable if someone bred them to be sweeter and seedless. Maybe a bit bigger too.

The Tasmanian apple berry is more commonly known as the purple apple berry ( Billardiera longiflora). The red apple berry that you mentioned is probably Billardiera scandens. The berries are ready to eat when rusty coloured and soft. They have a LOT more flavour than the purple kind - so much that it's only pleasant to eat a few at a time. Wiki describes the flavour as stewed apples or kiwifruit but they're more like a super-concentrated mix of the two flavours. They make interesting jam. They have a super high pectin content, so would be good to add an interesting element to other fruit jams. They'd probably also be good to add to quince paste. If I try it I'll let you know!

Lilly pillies are so cool! I came across a fruiting tree a couple years ago and ended up bringing some home to germinate and now I have a bunch of the plants! They haven’t fruited or I’d send Jared the fruit. They’re like a slightly less impressive water apple/wax apple but a fruit-covered tree sure is pretty looking!

acmena smithii, syzygium leumanii. great to make jam, but it attracts bees while cooking, so make sure you have flyscreens and seal around doors/windows so they can't get in while cooking.

We have a (non native) species in NZ that looks quite similar, but is bright fuscia, has white flesh and has a single fleshy 'seed' in the middle. They sound like they have a similar flavour as well. Syzgium astrale - Brush apple. They are pretty tasty!

Commonly made and found in Maine as well as sold at the fairs is violet rose geranium and Rose jellies which are sweet and meant for toast or whatever you would put your jelly on . They are also very bright in color. Each flavor such as the Violet is really violet colored. Many homes remember buying them at the fair still buy them at the fair and have them in their Larder. I remember growing up having these at home all of the time my dad wasn't very interested in my mother and I were but it's not something that doesn't cross sex lines it does.

This is so handy! I recently saw one of these plants and brought home a berry to see if I could grow the seeds and find out what it is. I thought maybe it was some sort of climbing fuchsia because it had cute little trumpet shaped flowers and the berries looked similar to fuchsia berries until they got bigger and square.

Australia has a ton of interesting fruit. Especially in the tropics. Check out Black apple, Davidson's plums, a whole lot of incredible Diploglottis species. Atherton nut, Endiandra compressa, Watermellon tree, some rare native guavas, some rare coffee species. Limes etc etc. Most are fairly sour but make incredible jams etc.

There was a restaurant that made chicken saltimbocca in my town: they wrote that the chicken was stuffed with Panko breadcrumbs, peppers, and truffles. There was a very distinct taste that I chalked up to the peppers and truffles, but figured that there was something else in the stuffing that they weren't talking about. That restaurant closed, and now there's a new restaurant opened by the same people who ran the old one. My mother just had shrimp with pepperberry roasted Yukon Gold potatoes, and when she offered some of the potatoes to me, I identified that peculiar yet satisfying taste immediately. I looked up that the potatoes were roasted with pepperberries, and now I'm here. I intend to get the plant so I can cook with these.
