Interesting truck. I doubt it was ever a diesel though as the 350 Olds diesel was the only option up to 81 and they never had a four wheel drive option. I have an 81 Sierra Classic, originally a 350 diesel, and they came loaded up with most options, including those cab lights. The sticker in the glove compartment door lists all the options on mine, including the diesel engine. There also should be a sticker on the cross piece on top and in front of the radiator with all the emissions and tuning info (non-catlyst) if it was a diesel. Most 78 to 81 GM diesel pickups I knew of were swapped to the Olds gas engine after the diesel failed. Anything from the 307 to the 455 would bolt right in with no modifications. Mine got the 403.

I've never seen such a confusing front end. Sometimes it looks like a Dodge and sometimes I can see old Ford headlights but thats just me. Cool truck!

Nice vid and great truck! Like your style, no bs, useful info for squarebody been such as myself. Am looking to get my first squarebody right now here in the UK. Not much choice though and all very pricey, and not a lot of model specific knowledge over here (at least compared to US & Canada), so channels such as this are very helpful. Subscribed.

The 15 is a half ton,3/4 ton would be a 25,should be a sequential v.i.n.number on top of frame next to motor and that'll show if it matches the body number

Not a 15. If itwas it would have 10 bolt front and rear different, and 6 lug wheels.

Yep it was body swapped for sure. The vin says its a 1980 1/2 ton 2wd cab….
