I Dont Know Why Everyone Is Hating On This Album, Honestly, This Was The Album I Could Play From Beginning To Finish, And Not Complain, This Album Has Multiple Good Songs, Keep Doing What You Do Man, They Get Even Better When You Play Them Live
Love this station and toro! I was visiting seattle last weekend for my birthday, and I took pictures outside of kexp hoping I'd run into someone like them. Sad i didn't know they were for a show in july, I would have planned an earlier trip. I ALWAYS MISS THE GOOD SHIT
+Ruja Moezi his music introduced to me a whole difficult genre known as "indie music." Ever since then my life changed tbh The type of music that Toro makes is not that well known, although it definitely has a following. But as I've gotten older I've realized that very few people know/appreciate some of the best/sophisticated things in life such as the type of music that Chaz makes.
Been a huge fan of Toro for many years now. I went to Osheaga to see him in Mtl and actually ran into Chaz on the street. He was hanging on a quiet patio so I hesitated to go up and talk to him. But being my only chance to ever actually meet him I went for it. Sadly, I got the vibe he wanted nothing to do to me. I will continue to support him, but I was definitely taken back from the situation.
He played here in Hawai'i and it was great and we had a blast. I kinda got this feeling from him onstage though that he was irritated at how much fun the crowd was having. Maybe he's just kinda reserved.
+trinocular Well to be fair if you're hosting someone on the radio it's kind his job to not pick up on if the artist is giving him that vibe- the show must go on.
I'm glad he's diving into the many faces of music, but I miss the feeling he portrayed in "anything in return." The feels I get from his newer material is kinda drab. You my nigga tho Toro.
This album (What For?) I liked in a different aspect, it was more of like a "Teenage Love Album...Love the funk" feel. His other stuff has a darker, more experimental tone.
If this would be the first thing I would hear from them, I would not be into them. Coming from Boo Boo, and then their older KEXP performance, this one is just miles behind.
i'm not sure how, but this is way better, wait, has #arielpink and #hauntedgraffiti secundered and well, yeah, just animated and audible beings, for the sake of unison, melody
"thats actually a synthesizer."
"SPEAKING OF SIENFELD...."
+Deja Davis DEAD
so happy
00:31 Empty Nesters
04:34 Buffalo

still listening to this often! I can get from Freaking Out to Boo Boo!
Underneath the Pine is definitely in the top 10 best albums of this century so far
I really like the interviewer he doesn't ask uncomfortable questions or anything. He just starts a nice conversation.
Lilly is a serious masterpiece, good stuff.
Half dome to me is
I'm so glad they came back to KEXP, I'm watching the previous presentation almost everyday.
Miss the causers of this chillwave days, this is dope tho
i also miss their chillwave days but this is amazing.

The track list is incorrect. Half Dome is the last song they're playing, not the first.
Methinks whoever made the video description had too much "half dome" :-P
Just say I think, methinks is so ridiculous
Chaz, you changed my life, hope to see you again in Florida!
+Fèlix how?

He stopped making chillwave back in 2010 tbh
Are you kidding me one of my fav bands right now

patrick jeffords is a killer bassist and all around musician

he's probably trying to relax and get away from people...don't get mad at an artist for not wanting to take a break from people.
+ccodak306 pretty sure this KEXP guy was getting the same vibe but not picking up on it as well.
He played here in Hawai'i and it was great and we had a blast. I kinda got this feeling from him onstage though that he was irritated at how much fun the crowd was having. Maybe he's just kinda reserved.

This guys are amazing!
Can't wait to see you guys in Boston at the house of blues next Wednesday!!
The moment of anticipation before they launch into "Empty Nester"
wish i would have seen the What Now? shows those vibes must have been so gewwwwwd!!
The order was Empty nesters,Buffalo,Lilly and Half dome, check out guys
Come ON, it's Idris Elba, not "that British Guy"! The Wire is amazing! Looking forward to seeing Toro Y Moi in Des Moines soon. :)
I'm glad he's diving into the many faces of music, but I miss the feeling he portrayed in "anything in return." The feels I get from his newer material is kinda drab. You my nigga tho Toro.
He sounds like Tame Impala now.
totally agree, anything in return is easily his best work
@@andrewbechtel5821 na his first album or this one are tied
TORO Y MOI!!! He is amazing, I hope to see him someday in concert :)
yo playerz Empty Nesters is track 1 and Half Dome is the last song.

Beautiful!!
Would love to see run baby run live
Is that Kevin Parker on drums?
+Hasbul Hadi it's Andy!
Prefer this live rendition on KEXP than the album versions of these songs...
los mejores actualmente!
the perfect appetizer to tide you over until your Star Stuff record arrives
Love the funky instrumental parts
so many details...
Listening to Buffalo when high makes me just wanna love everybody, so good. Thank you Toro y moi, you guys are great
Half dome is the best ❤️
TURN THAT SECOND GUITAR UP ON LILLY !! wtf....
its kinda funny chaz has his own jet in "So Many Details", and he missed his flight! lol
But I love this dude's music!
So this presentation precedes the Monte Carlo music " Uber messed up everything Driver canceled on me"...
This album (What For?) I liked in a different aspect, it was more of like a "Teenage Love Album...Love the funk" feel. His other stuff has a darker, more experimental tone.
is the host high?
i love you chazzy!!!!
BABBU BHATT WAS THE OWNER OWNER OF THE DREAM CAFE IN SEINFELD
Amazing
:o the synths are Astronauts, etc’s vocalist
I miss the chillwave times.
If this would be the first thing I would hear from them, I would not be into them. Coming from Boo Boo, and then their older KEXP performance, this one is just miles behind.

He sounds the same
Sounds pretty good live though, nice performance
Lilly

I like them experimenting with more bandy sounds, but I just long for the chillwaaaaaaaaaaaave
Band is dope!! Chaz stop being so dang awkward sheesh
Everyday
it´s sounds very bad. They were late so probably they didn´t check the sound properly
your musical ear isn't advanced enough to understand the beauty of this performance.
CHAZ PLAYING A STRAT WITH A TELE HEADSTOCK WTF
yeah itsa tele style headstock but i dont see a fender logo so idek if its an actual strat lol
CHAZZZZZZZZ #SUBLIME
doope
i'm not sure how, but this is way better, wait, has #arielpink and #hauntedgraffiti secundered and well, yeah, just animated and audible beings, for the sake of unison, melody
i think, even before the interview, this guy likes #metal but your can re formulate r&b if you're real skilled, #beware
Hooked
They could use a better drummer
these tones are not good
was going to say the same thing
lobe ya chaz but this album didnt do it for me
at WarpLoT same! it was such a downgrade from his other stuff. but hey, the songs he's releasing on his soundcloud are soooo cool.
Check out Samantha!
+at WarpLoT I feel like this is really similar to underneath the pine. Not my favorite but still solid.
+at WarpLoT I like that he is exploring his sound though. for sure.
You mean best album!
he talks about himself too much
This was trash. Still is.
