Very true. I used to collect whisky when I were young but did not drink as the price rises. Now I sold most of them as there is no point keeping what you cannot consume and use Same as my perfumes collection. Now when I older and wiser, I limit my perfumes to 30 - 31 bottles only (One fragrance for each day of the month) and use each of them daily.
My personality is such that i get addicted to things and i overdose on them but then it dies just as fast as i got addicted (happened with video games, sports). This year i got addicted to perfumes and I spend most of my free time researching and watching youtube / facebook groups of fragrances. I know by heart most of the fragrances the community talks about, including the general prices of them at discounters basicly i became an expert of this industry but just in theory lol. I have only 15 fragrances (3 of them my family doesn't even know about because i hide them since im embarrased of my sudden addiction, they are still sealed lol i haven't even tried them). Due to budget, all i have are clones and cheap middle eastern brands i blind bought. Im dreaming of that compliment monster beast mode nuclear strong room filler fragrance that turns everyone's heads but in truth i think i might be fooling myself. This month i bought my first "serious" perfume, Versace Eros Flame which for my budget is quiet a luxury piece and let me tell you i wore it once and wasn't too impressed by its potency so now i feel dissapointed. Im not saying i haven't gotten "noticed", that i haven't gotten compliments on some of the fragrances i own but all this "get 100 compliments in a day" some reviewers claim seem to be bullcrap. I admit the reason i got into this hobby is compliments but its a bad reason because it comes with alot of dissapointments. Fragrance addiction is real. My "collection" is worth only like 500 dollars but in my country thats like the average full months salary and for a grounded responsible person with a family that money can be spent on other things. Im not saying that having a hobby is bad or you shouldn't spend money on yourself, on what you love but it must be controlled and its not easy.
All these TH-camrs are selling out and pushing products they are getting paid to push. Keep your integrity, Joy! You seem to be the only trustworthy one left. God bless Joy. You can be happy and successful without being dishonest with people who trust you. 🙏
Great instructive and useful video. That is the reason you are the one of my three favorite reviewers. I've got more than 80 different fragrances, a lot of backup bottles and maybe 5-6 litres of juice. I am spraying medium to heavy, so this should be enought for the next 25-30 years. Almost all of them are cheapies or clones so i don't regret of buying them and i haven't spent a fortune. But this addiction to explore and find newer and more different scent each day or week is realy sickness. You are right Joy, sometimes we all fall in the rabbit hole, but the life is a way more diverse and colorful than the all fragrances in the world. Thanks for this topic!
Man I love this speech bro. It definitely hit home. I have 42 fragrances and continue to look for more, when I have more than enough. It’s time to start truly appreciating what I have. Thank you Joy. This was needed man.
Very true Joy. We need to all enjoy are hobby and not constantly 'chase' what we don't have. If we are able to indulge ourselves in our hobby then are lives are going fairly well!
Great speech (straight from the heart). I agree with you. I wish you could test the Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme Summer Limited Edition 😊 with me. True, it's hard to appreciate the scents you have. It is definitely better to buy fragrances that will surprise us with something. If, while testing, we feel that a fragrance is a fragrance created for us ... No doubt, if you will not be able to forget about it, buy it. I was lucky enough to be able to buy Gucci Guilty Cologne at a good price, and it's one of those fragrances. It is not a scent for compliments, it is indifferent. It is distinguished by a fresh note of heliotrope shown in an unusual combination. You are real honest man👏. Cheers for You.
I have the sample of Eccentric 04. I will wait for your review on it. I agree with you. I said to myself last year, I was going to spend $100/month for middle eastern fragrances. I stopped that thought. I have more than 50 bottles; all blind buys with one regret: I bought for $10 a bottle of Xavier Ultin Celeste EDP Natural (100ml) Spray. I can’t find anything about this fragrance. This fragrance is off putting, too strong for me. If I could find what the ingredients are, I would try to mix with citrus fragrance to soften the scent. I have a lot of samples from ScentXplore 2021. When they finish, that’s it for me. I won’t buy.
Thanks for making this video. I'm just starting my journey with fragrances and I know I can't buy everything, not even close. But I did learn long ago to practice gratitude for what you have now and to be patient and work for what you want. Another big thing is to buy what YOU like, not what other people like.. Right now, my first fragrances are from Pete & Pedro and most people probably haven't heard of them. They are not exactly original fragrances and are "inspired" by others, but they smell good. And I plan to buy the "regular fragrances" like Sauvage, and Acqua Di Gio. I like Calvin Klein as a less expensive classic fragrance right now. Basically to make a base collection and then go to stores and try testers before buying any more after that.. Of course, there are the expensive ones out there like Creed which I would like to try, but I may have to buy from decanters first.
When you calculate how long it will take to use your cologne it gets very sobering very fast.. ~65 bottles(5200ml) will take ~21 years to use. I've found that gifting bottles you don't use is much more rewarding than hoarding them in a "collection".
I've 450+ bottles and still buying. Still 12/13 bottles on the way. Don't know how to stop this madness. I even don't know how much or which one I bought. I bought some bottles twice/thrice accidentally and many of them are still intact. I've lost my mind! Btw, this is the best video outside the regular topic. Thanks a lot. I'm an addict and I need to be normal. Alhamdulillah for everything.
The way I look at it is why but more than you could possibly wear in a lifetime????? A 3.4oz bottle will last around a year that's if you wear everyday. Think about it. If you own 200 bottles that's 200 years worth.
@@FSVR54 Yes I've tested it! As long as you don't bathe yourself in it. I sprayed 3 sprays a day and after a year I still had probably 1/4 bottle left. I never overspray. If you have to spray 8 times what's the point it's a waste of money.
Let me rephrase the title'you can never date all the beautiful girls you have a crush on or the daily little crushes u have on the subway, buses, malls'. Moral of the story there will always be someone prettier, more charming or funny or interesting, taller etc.
This is absolutely not the same thing 😂 You can have any fragrance you want if you can afford it and it's available. But you can't just have any woman you want, regardless of her status, she might not want you or she might be spoken for! Poor analogy. The moral of your thing isn't quite the same as the moral of Joy's thing either 🤷🏻♂️

Same here bhai
I have the same problem. I have to control myself...wife helps me.
Thank you for sharing your story, sir. I too can relate. Greetings from Bangladesh

So true!! I may want to buy everything but realistically can't lol.
You are my go to reviewer not just because of fragrances but also because of your humility. Keep doing what you’re doing and godspeed man! 👊🏻🙏🏻
Indeed! Olfactory control is harder than tummy control!
Your collection is massive btw 🤩

Good night 🌉 from Boston MA 😎🤙🏻
I feel like 10-15 fragrances is all you need, 20 max.
Amen! Great points, Joy... cant take things for granted... be appreciative and thankful for your own personal stuff... others have it worse...
What a beautiful message to frag-addict.
Thank you so much brother for sharing valuable things in life. 😍

This is some wisdom I did not expect, yeah I've heard these things before but it hits differently now.
Wow' so true. Thank you Joy your a fine man. Also you looking and sounding great.

Love this type of videos man
You are a gentleman 👍
True you can’t buy them all. I enjoy the hunt for the different scent that will set me apart from others. Escentric 01 is a stand apart scent.
That's why I respect Joy so much.
You’re right Joy, we cannot buy them all…. (but we’re sure going to try… 😆😏)
Good morning brother from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Hi Joy, when you come back to Msia let us know.. I'm sure community here like to catch up with you with nice tea/ lunch

Depending on your bottle sizes It will take about ~145 years to use what you have now...

@@avgrim7729a "waste of money" in your eyes doesn't make it true. It's called using what you buy. Three sprays is way too little for me
You have a great hair for the guy that is almost 40
Do you know what happened to Frag Boy Stewie?
I have 17 then I realize how stupid to keep buying fragrance
😂
