    Doublelift answered the questions pretty well.
    On the other hand, the guy handing out the questions found some really douche-y questions to ask.

    Doublelift isn't even that arrogant, he simply has a good, honest view of his own skill and those of others, and isn't afraid to let others know his opinion. Great player.

      doublelift is a pathetic, arrogant kid

    • @KibaNoTsubasa
      @KibaNoTsubasa 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Rohen17 Pathetic? He left his home and realized he had nothing else but to game. He made himself a great player, to the point he has been able to and now is still able to seriously compete as a professional.
      He has arrogance, yes, because he has confidence in himself. And he rightfully has that confidence because he has the skill to back it up.
      How would you fare in that situation? Granted, your personality is probably different, so I wouldn't know if you are arrogant. But would you be able to accomplish what he did? He pushed himself and got far. Yes, there was a lot of luck, as he mentions in the video - but then if he was only lucky enough to just make it as a pro, he wouldn't have survived this long.
      Also, if you noticed, he's not a complete prick. He admits he fell off in S3. He didn't deny his falling off. He calls himself the best ADC yet he admits he's not that far ahead.

    He has the balls to say what is on his mind. I would rather have an interview with someone that will lay it out on the line than with a damn PC douche that's afraid to say something wrong. That's one major reason why I enjoy watching Doublelift. When he messes up, he'll put the blame on himself. When he owns, he'll take that as well. Give the dude some credit.

  • @RonaldoHuang1
    @RonaldoHuang1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Carmac asked all the questions that no one would ask Doublelift. Sure, he may have asked it in an uncharacteristic stern approach but it was a serious topic people were dying to know.

    I don't think he sounds arrogant at all. He knows what he's goot at, which you can't deny, he is chinese indeed and has that going for him, and also admits he is not fit for decision making, which is a skill he lacks. Being realistic about yourself is a major step towards success.

    Why are the comments saying that the interviewer is douchey? His questions are great, they were actually substantial unlike most interviewers who ask meaningless questions that result in meaningless responses.
    He asked specific questions while still leaving them open ended, therefore, he was able to get unique responses out of doublelift.

    Much respect for Doublelift tho, Yea he talk smack, so what it's competition, But like he said He has LOYALTY something this is very short supply these days. Double could have CLG when they where in a slump, Probably even went to a Korean team, and made more money and been more successful, But he stayed Loyal to Hotshot and CLG.
    He is also very realistic about his faults, mistakes and he knows what a crazy risk he took and how lucky he got. Nothing but respect for Double. He's a Real person that speak his mind and speaks the truth. and I love it and find it very entertaining when he talks trash. Which just makes me like him all the more

    I'm not hating on Doublelift or anything, but if he wasn't doing anything with his life at the age of 18, can't blame his parents for wanting him out cause according to what he said, he still played games all day until he was 18 and didn't know how to drive, attend college or anything.

      Just saying you can't really trust this interviewer. 1st of all in another interview it was said he was going to attend UC Irvine, but since he left he had no money to attend. 2nd of all, he left home at age 16. 3rd of all, alot of the time Asian parents don't really care about any culture except their own. To a lot of them grades are all that matter. Source: im asian.

    Lol this hate for the interviewer is funny. I haven't seen any of his other interviews, so I can't judge for sure, but he's actually very good at interviewing. Pay attention to his pace: watch how he's not interrupting DL when he speaks, has an easy tone of voice, and a classy arrogance (lol they're both arrogant but it's fine) - these are all good.
    Even more so, his questions were spot on. We all know DL is a god amongst ADCs - we and the interviewer know this and it doesn't need more clarification. He tried to center the questions around DL's personal life to gain more insight on the pro, which I'm pretty sure we all would like to know more about. I don't see it as awkward, hell if I was DL I'd be honored because his situation is so unique that talking about it isn't bad at all. It's like the feeling you get when you tell a bunch of people how you went through hardships but came out on top in the end...pretty great. I do feel for DL's parent situation...money isn't everything =\

    To sum up this interview. Before turning his back on family, he was a 'skill-less, fat, ugly, awkward nerd' and after dedicating 2 and a half years of his life away from the people who nurtured him into adulthood, to play video games, he is a 'skill-less, skinny, ugly, awkward, nerdy superstar'.(with a decent amount of $) I admire him for chasing his dream and doing what he loves, but I also get the sense that deep down he has some major flaws as a person.

Of course you haven't; every interviewer recognizes he's skilled, but no one's delusional enough to think he's the best when he's not (interviewers ≠ fans). This guy was just bad; Sjokz, the primary casters (like Phreak, Jatt, Kobe, Deman, Deficio, etc.), and even Travis are far superior. I'm not saying he's a horrible person, he's just not good at interviews.
