That can actually happen just like Gregory describes it,
except the undertaker cuts open the hay bale and arranges
the broken-up body best they can. Usually someone is
trying to un-jam the bailer and gets caught in it. One of
the hazards of farming.

In Missouri we call them "arm grabbers". You see a guy with a missing or really screwed up twisted arm you can bet it was a baler.
People in all walks of life have. Jokes about the job.

Americans and others sit around the table eating talking about some tragedy that happened and never give a thought to the folks that produced that food for little money and great effort.

Actually had a good buddy we use to cut tobacco and bale hay with pass away on his tractor, he was out raking. Good ole' hoot clute.

News talks of cops, firemen ,etc but agriculture kills more every year than those. In 15 yrs raising cows had broke leg (kicked), teeth knocked out and cheek cut open to the teeth and half ear torn off. Know no one that didn't have scars from the business. The folks eating what we grow ain't got a clue.
Get run through a baler and they'll have NO trouble telling which bale you're in.🤠

Only the thing they have in common is the southern accent, both of them are great storytellers and can just simply cause you to bust out laughing by telling a simple story but they are two different comedians. The great Jerry Clower centered all of his routine around a family that lived in the Mississippi town he was from. This guy stretches it out more and brings just a lit little bit of political comedy into his routine where Jerry Clower stayed away from politics. This guy is more like the George carlin of the south

I hope he is kidding. There are lots of tragic farming accidents all the time. Idk, maybe I'm just a stick in the mud. My oldest son is a farmer. Works cows and bales hay , plants corn etc... I worry and pray for him a lot.

If you had ever seen anyone that's been in involved in an accident like this, you would not be laughing. It is absolutely one of the worst things. It looks like meat through a meat grinder and it is something you DON'T want to see.

My uncle Carson's hired summer student went through the baler. He was out finishing baling a field while Uncle Carson went in for lunch. He plugged the baler, and tried to free it by hand with it running and got caught and pulled in. He was only 19. Uncle Carson nearly lost his mind over it. People with no farming experience don't understand. A baling victim isn't just stuffed into a bale--they are ripped, torn, (possibly skewered depending on the baler's feeding mechanism), and chopped into large chunks first. It is absolutely horrible. I'm sorry, but I don't find this funny in the slightest.
I'm sorry for uncle's hand but I've farmed my whole life tobacco cows hogs and all you don't put a greenhorn out there and not expect complications it's not their fault it's the owners fault for not getting his or hers workers trained it all rest on what you teach people about safety and equipment

I agree I knew a guy that was trying to unplug a Round Baler with it still engaged and it pulled him in up to his shoulders ( both were dis located) plus ate the skin off his arms to the bone. fingers were are shredded by the pickup teeth. The baler broke a shear pin but he was mangled up pretty bad. Had to lease the farm out could not work anymore was about 35 years old at the time of the accident.
I know a guy that disked his child under because he let him sit up on the tractor with him and he fell off backwards into the disk.
But I'm not going to get upset about a guy telling farm accident jokes.

A bale is hay. A bail is a bucket handle or support, or money to get out of jail. It's not just a matter of spelling, it changes the whole meaning. It's a 4-letter word, not rocket science.

I like James but this story isn't funny to me. I had a Uncle who got killed in a hay baler, it was his fault but still not funny. Won't stop me from watching James though.

My grandpa DID get killed with a hay baler.... He got off to adjust something and the tractor and baler combo kicked into gear and the big wheel of the tractor ran over his middle.. he ended up losing first one leg, then the other and then dying later....NO JOKE.
