Nottingham Panther's Star, Adam Johnson died in a “freak accident” during Saturday’s match between Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers.
The 29-year-old player’s throat was cut by an opponent's skate blade when they collided during the match.
A huge memorial with flowers and messages was placed outside the ice rink where American player called home for the last year.

This was no accident. The player intentionally kicked the other player with his skate. The NHL needs to hold this player accountable. It’s absolutely disgusting that anyone would say this is a freak accident.
The prosecutor better get on this.

He needs to be charged immediately. A man lost his life due to straight recklessness. Not negligence. He knew what he was doing, was it his intent to stop, slow, or hurt his opponent. No one would know but himself, but what is a fact is that he sliced another man’s throat open and killing him by doing such a thing. With no repercussions…. If nothing is done, then the streets will handle it.
All news platforms are stating its an accident and a freak accident at that…. Defending and sheltering a “mourning” petgrave. As he is bombarded with hateful messages…..

There was over 8,000 live spectators left in awe & over millions viewing and commenting after the incident. With multiple camera views. How can you reword what is live for everyone to see and defend a player that has no remorse from what he did. There was no contact on petgrave… he initiated a check, that was no where near the intended player. But some how with no contact the man lost his balance enough to legitimately throw his leg in the air as if it was a karate kick, last time I lost balance on ice or anyone I know of ,we had slid on the ground, not flew in the air….
Paint the man to look innocent and reword what truly happens all you guys want. But there will be justice for Adam Johnson.
Petgrave deserves a long think about what he did while in the most uncomfortable damp cell we can find. I’ve been playing hockey for years people get mad, we throw punches, hell breaking a stick over someone is seen from time to time. But never have I seen someone drive the heel of blade into someone’s throat like that. You don’t just get your leg up like that on accident

I worked for a very successful Hockey agent here in the states back on the day. Neat job of my life… real men for sure. But also gentlemen. What in God’s name is this gorilla warfare, karate-kicking, jujitsu bs garbage?! I had to watch this and rewatch this again and again and again bc hey, this is hoooockey. Surely this had to be a freak accident. These guys don’t do thiiis kind of sh*t??! I’m sick rn. This was literally wreckless homicide.

Edited: But,... I forgot to say one thing, most of us didn't wear them,as they are "itchy" and it felt like playing in a dog collar.

Why does 7news Australia have a video showing the other player clearly extend his leg up and towards the upper torso of the player. In other videos, it’s been edited. I’m sure he did not mean to harm him, but why did he have his leg up at that level in the first place.
i've watched a lot of hockey in my day; and this particular incident is one of the most peculiar i've ever borne witness to. It appears that the perpetrator of this act, indeed, had sinister intentions on his mind when he brought up his skate as show in video; and, now, the recipient of said blow has paid the ultimate price for this criminal act of malicious intent. That is all! RGB-Y3 out!!!
RGB, I definitely believe he was just a dirty player, unfortunately a game turned out to be a death sentence for a player who didn’t deserve to die. The other player was playing dirty. JMO ..
